Stand Up, Falling Down

Rate this book
In the Summer of 2014 Jimmy Perrin, author of books such as, "Hard Up 1, 2 and 3" was asked to write his biography,
HE REFUSED !!
Instead he wrote a part bi, part stand-up comedian book.
NOW HE'S BACK !!
More funnier...
"Did you really just call me bi-sexual in the last part?
More sexier...
"No I ain't getting my bum out for another cover picture"
More outrageous... "I will do a full frontal inside, instead"
Much More controversial than the first book, Much more of Jimmy, just being Jimmy.

Knowing what to expect after reading the first instalment of this book, I wasn't left disappointed this time. It's written in exactly the same style, it's even funnier than the first and finally with a few photographs of him as a child to, finally we get a glimpse of the real person behind the writing. For a book that I enjoyed reading and made me laugh, I shouldn't really, but need to say – Very opinionated this time. Whereas book one slightly mocked his youth and came across as light-hearted, this book was more forcefully written, to get his views of life across. Loved the Christmas start, enjoyed the Labrador theme, could have done without all the bitching about life in general. For imagination I award this book, again like the first 4 / Jimmy the person, Jimmy the character 2 again / For comedy value a 4 / Then for his writing skills, 4 again. Overall verdict – Read two of these books now, surprising hope there's another one to come 3.

Unable to work it out, yet hooked on the author's words in the first book, I took to this one knowing I wasn't going to expect much. This author really needs to make up his mind what kind of book he wants to write, because if you take all the personal stuff from the two books, you'd probably have a little autobiography somewhere - Then if you took the comedy from both, a really good comedy act. Luckily,I finally got his message half way through and it's about neither. In-fact, this is just a simple book and a simple man, where he takes a look at life and laughs at it. The same high standard comedy from the first, yet could have done without the revealing pictures of him.

I enjoyed the first in the series so much, that as soon as I spotted this one, I put down what I was reading and went straight to it. Can't really say it was better than the first, but certainly up there with it. It's so good to read someone's honest opinions on random subjects and know I'm not the only person in the world to feel this way. Jimmy speaks openly in the book and didn't fail to deliver a laugh every time I turned a page. The Santa chapter started it off perfectly and the whole thing was read within twenty-four hours. Great job. Hope there will be a third !!

After this first edition of this book left me confused, I get it down. It's about Jimmy standing up on stage doing a show, yet written down in a book.
With a greater understanding that he ISN'T in-fact writing his autobiography, I was allowed to enjoy this one a lot more. Great story telling, wonderful opinions, and lovely pictures too.
