My Daughter's Baby

Rate this book
As I hold my daughter’s newborn baby to my chest, my heart breaks knowing she didn’t live to meet her son. Someone will need to raise this child, but who will fight the hardest?

When I get the call my estranged daughter Sophie is in labor and that there are complications, I can barely breathe. It’s been months since I spoke to her—I had no idea she was even pregnant. I rush to the hospital, tears streaming down my face. But as I run through the hospital doors and see the nurses’ faces, I realize I am already too late.

I look down at the precious baby she left behind, swaddled in a blanket with perfect rosy cheeks. My husband and I could give him a stable, loving home. It would be a second chance for us. Because we didn’t get it right with Sophie—no matter how hard we tried, I know we failed her. This is our chance to finally make things right.

But then I meet the tear-filled gaze of my son-in-law, Tom, and realize it isn’t going to be that simple. He is the reason we didn’t have a relationship with our daughter. My husband is sure his troubled past will mean we get custody. But now Sophie is gone, is it time to give Tom a second chance? Or is it foolish to trust someone we don’t even know?

My chest aches as I realize I have no idea what Sophie would have wanted, or even what I truly want. Because I have secrets of my own… secrets that Tom doesn’t know and never should. Should I fight to raise my daughter’s baby myself, even if it costs me everything?

An unforgettable, gripping and suspenseful novel that shines a light on what it truly means to be a family. Perfect for readers who enjoy emotional fiction, and for fans of Jodi Picoult, Liane Moriarty and Diane Chamberlain.

My Daughter's Baby by Kate Hewitt
Publication date: October 23rd 2025

Thoughts
This definitely was on the sad side of thrillers ~ there was one scene that did actually break my heart, other than that when I see "heartbreaking" my initial thought is gut wrenching type of heartbreak throughout, however this was more emotionally sad/draining - maybe that's just me ... Also the plot was rather predictable, with that being said I did enjoy how the events unfolded. I will definitely come back to this author.

Plot Summary
Diana receives a phone call from from her estranged daughter's husband telling her that Sophie is in labour and is experiencing complications - Diana didn't even know her daughter was pregnant; upon arrival at the hospital she finds out that her daughter didn't make it but she now has a grandson named Henry. With Tom being the reason why Sophie is estranged from her family, things are about to get worse for Tom who's nothing more than an unfit father for Henry and a wrong choice their daughter made.

Many thanks Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC

I found this book to be both heartwarming and heartbreaking. I will be completely honest, the adults in this book made me so angry. Pride and judgement tore this family apart, and it was hard to read. I found myself flip flopping emotions, one minute this book had me smiling, other times I was so angry and more times than I wanted to admit it had me in tears.

I am still fairly new to Hewitt's work, but I've come to realize that I can count on her to give me a book that challenges how I think and view situations. I also know if I want to get emotionally wrecked by a book she has me covered on that too!!!

I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of My Daughter's Baby by Kate Hewitt. This was a very heartfelt book and had emotions all over the place. The book presented a moral dilemma and the reader tries to think what they would do. They say it takes a village to raise a family and people need supports in place to do just that. It was a fast read and very realistic characters with flaws and all. This is my fourth book by this author and I have enjoyed each and every one of them. Many more on my TBR list. I would definitely recommend this book to others. I gave it a 4 star rating. #Bookouture #KateHewitt #Booktour

A sobering yet heartfelt read.
Diana and Andrew are estranged from their daughter when they receive devastating news.
They can’t repair relations with their daughter but they still have a son-in-law and grandson.
I felt a lot of empathy for the characters and on some levels I thought Tom was trying but Andrew was very hard headed.
Diana knew of her limits but I truly thought she was trying the most.
The ending is good and proves family comes in all shapes and sizes.
Thanks Bookouture and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Diana and her husband Andrew have been estranged from their daughter Sophie for 18 months. They argued over her choice of boyfriend, Tom, a man they didn't feel worthy of her or their family. A call from Tom saying Sophie is in hospital has them running to say goodbye to her but welcome their new grandson. A grandson that automatically Andrew wants custody of as he doesn't trust Tom. Rather than lose contact they reluctantly invite Tom to move in temporarily but this causes friction between them all, especially when Tom's mother arrives.
Kate Hewitt writes books that make you think about what you'd do in the the situation, she gives you a moral dilemma. The biggest take from this great book is the value of family and the support it takes to raise a child.

My Daughter’s baby was a touching story of the aftermath of a mother losing her daughter and a baby losing her mother, a father with no idea how to raise a child on him own, and the fight for them all to give this child what they needed. A story that walks through the broken piece of a family tragedy, testing the moral dilemmas across strained relationships. Two generations of parents are forced to confront grief, regret, and the weight of past choices while deciding what is best for a newborn.

This story explored the profound ethical dilemmas of raising a grandchild, and how to have a relationship with the father of that child. It also explored the impact of identity, judgement and the impact of perceptions. The story explored the blurred lines between parents and grandparents, questioning their identities in these roles, as well as their own personal identities and histories. Diana, when pregnant with her daughter, Sophie experienced post-natal depression and had a difficult time coping and learning to be a parent, and the reflection on this was both touching and sad. Being able to empathise from this experience helped to soften her heart for Tom, her grandson’s father, whom she judged on first appearances years before. Tom’s history and past were judged and scrutinised to the point that Sophie walked away from her relationship with her parents. It is the birth of Diane’s grandson and being left without her daughter, dying after childbirth, that provided a space to offer a second chance to Tom and his role in her grandson’s life.

It's often hard to eat humble pie and accept that decision made in the past could have been wrong. It’s also just as hard to be able to move on with so much damage done to a relationship in the past. But for the sake of this newborn baby, this is the justification for these adults to become responsible to one another, and to look out for what is best for the child. And although the ending was predictable, it was nice to see a positive outcome for everyone to create the best life for a little child who was loved so much by everyone.

Thank you #Bookouture for this tour stop and #gifted copy.

read if you like:
🍼 recovering after tragedy
🏡 complicated family relationships
👵🏼 custody issues

summary:
Kate Hewitt is an automatic buy for me, because her books pull on your heart strings and address complicated moral or ethical dilemmas. In this story, Diana receives a phone call from her estranged daughter, Sophie’s husband Tom — Sophie is in labor, but complications have arisen. Diana, who didn’t even know Sophie was pregnant, rushes to the hospital, only to find out that Sophie didn’t make it, but her newborn son, Henry, survived.

Tom, whose relationship with Sophie led to their fallout in the first place, is heartbroken by the loss of his wife and overwhelmed at the idea of being a parent. Diana and her husband, Andrew, swing into action, determined to be there for Henry in a way they couldn’t be there for Sophia. Despite their tense relationship with Tom, he moves in with them, and they realize that fighting for what they want may require risking everything — and going against their daughters wishes.

This book is a fast read, with sympathetic, realistic and flawed characters. I found myself in Diana’s shoes, wondering what the right move was for Henry, and even empathized with Tom, whose bad first impression set the tension in motion even after Sophie’s death. Andrew was a compassionate and loving father, and I looked at both he and Diana and thought, what would I do? The story is emotional and thought-provoking, and is a book about second chances, redemption and how we define family. Can people truly change? The ending is heartfelt and warm, and if you’re a fan of Jodi Picoult or Liane Moriarty, this book is for you.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the advanced copy, and make sure you check this book out when it releases on October 23.

Kate Hewitt is skilled at writing emotionally powerful stories about love, loss, and complicated family dynamics. My Daughter’s Baby is no exception. Right away, the novel sweeps you into a world of grief, secrets, and hard choices, laced with hope.

The story opens with Eleanor hearing that her daughter, Sophie, has passed away while giving birth. Eleanor rushes to the hospital and faces the heartbreaking truth of holding her unknown grandchild. In that moment, she sees a chance to make amends for the years of distance between them. But across from her is Tom, Sophie’s husband, whom she holds responsible for the separation. The story that unfolds is a deeply emotional struggle between two people united by loss, attempting to make the best decisions for the orphaned baby Sophie.

Hewitt portrays Eleanor’s grief and guilt with great sensitivity. Through her inner conflict—wanting to do right by her grandson while wrestling with her distrust of Tom—we see the complexity of motherhood, forgiveness, and second chances. The book’s genuine power comes from how honest it is; it doesn’t offer quick fixes, just the messy, real way people get over tough stuff.

The story moves at a good pace, and switching between Eleanor and Tom lets you see what they’re both going through. Hewitt doesn’t make either character a villain, but reveals how miscommunication, pride, and unexpressed affection can tear families apart. Her words are delicate but real, often making you cry, yet hopeful.

You’ll find My Daughter’s Baby to be a story both heartbreaking and redemptive. We’re reminded that forgiveness is usually late, but love can happen anytime.

My Daughter’s Baby by @katehewitt1 completely pulled me in from the very first page. It begins with a jaw-dropping revelation that instantly sets the tone for the emotional journey that lies ahead.

After years of being estranged from their daughter, Diane and her husband are suddenly faced with devastating news: their daughter has passed away, leaving behind a baby boy. Now they must decide what’s best for him: should his father, a man with a complicated past, raise him, or should they take on that responsibility themselves?

This story is emotional, raw, and deeply thought-provoking. It beautifully explores love, loss, forgiveness, and what it truly means to be family. The characters felt incredibly real, flawed, hurting, but trying to do their best in heartbreaking circumstances.

The book is told in two parts, starting from Diane’s point of view and later alternating between Diane and Audrey, which I loved. The dual perspectives added so much depth and understanding to the story.

I won’t give too much away, but this book made me reflect on what I’d do if I never got the chance to make peace with someone I love. It also explores breaking generational patterns, learning from mistakes, and finding hope even in the face of tragedy.

Kate Hewitt writes with such compassion and honesty that you can truly feel the emotions on every page. I found myself tearing up, smiling, and rooting for every character to find peace.

If you enjoy domestic dramas that tug at your heart, make you think, and remind you that love can heal even the deepest wounds, this one is a must-read.

Thank you so much to @bookouture for having me on this tour and for the #gifted e-ARC!

What would you do if your daughter introduced you to her boyfriend and you found him completely unsuitable for her? Would you try to get to know him, or would you give her an ultimatum—risking losing all contact with her?

Andrew and Diana make their decision. Result: Eighteen months pass without a single word, until suddenly the phone rings…

I was immediately drawn into the story, which didnt surprise me at all since this author always manages to move me with her books.

How often do people judge others purely on appearances and instantly jump to conclusions without making the effort to truly get to know them? One glance, and someone is already placed into a box where they don’t belong.

But words spoken in the heat of the moment often cause immediate damage. Damage that is far harder to repair, and turning back the clock is not an option. Regret comes after the fact, and many precious moments are lost forever.

This is exactly what some of the characters realize. For some, the realization comes sooner; for others, it takes more time to swallow their pride and let go of the role they’ve been clinging to.

When there is a dispute involving a baby, it’s often about what the adults want or think is best for them. But what truly matters is what’s best for the child. Do the different parties come to this realization, and will they finally join forces instead of working against each other?

A gripping, moving, heartwarming story about human flaws, pride, and the struggle to compromise. 5 stars

Thank you.

“Every parent’s history is littered with mistakes.”

This emotionally charged and captivating read begins with a tear-jerking scene. Diana rushes to the hospital with her husband, Andrew, after receiving a call that their daughter, Sophie, is in labor.

It had been nearly two years since they had spoken to Sophie, as Andrew had taken an instant strong dislike of her boyfriend Tom. This led to Sophie walking away from her parents. When they arrive at the hospital, they receive devastating news. Sophie didn’t survive the baby’s delivery and all they have time for is an all-too-brief goodbye.

Andrew decides right on the spot that he intends on filing for custody as he feels that Tom would be an unfit parent. Diana intercedes and they decide to take Tom and the baby in. However, bonding with the baby proves difficult as Diana can’t help but to have feelings of inadequacy around the baby. She had severe postpartum depression when she had Sophie, so taking full custody of the baby terrifies her.

Kate Hewitt certainly has a way to evoke powerful emotions with her stories. As a grandmother, I could easily relate to Sophie. Also, as a mother with a daughter who has experienced postpartum depression with each of her children, I deeply empathized with Diana’s pain and uncertainty when it came to her grandson. If you’re looking for a captivating read that will keep you hooked from the very first page, My Daughter’s Baby is a must-read.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Kate Hewitt knows how to go straight for the heart. In My Daughter’s Baby, she gives us a story about grief, guilt, and the fragile hope of second chances all wrapped around the question of who gets to raise an infant when tragedy strikes.

The novel opens with a gut-punch: the narrator’s estranged daughter Sophie dies during childbirth, leaving behind a baby boy she never got to hold. From that moment, the book is less about plot twists than emotional landmines. Every scene whether in a hospital corridor or a quiet kitchen is layered with regret and yearning. The grandparents see the baby as a way to make things right after failing their daughter, but standing in their way is Tom, the son-in-law they’ve blamed for the estrangement.

Hewitt writes both sides with empathy. The grandparents are flawed but deeply human; Tom, too, is no villain, but a man trying to prove himself worthy of his child. As secrets begin to surface, the novel becomes not just a custody battle but a meditation on forgiveness and the blurry lines between love, control, and redemption.

If you enjoy family dramas that dare you to ask, “What would I do?” and keep you turning pages late at night this book will pull you in and hold on tight!

⚡️Thank you Bookouture and Kate Hewitt for sharing this book with me!

I love author Kate Hewitt’s books and I always know I’m in for an emotional roller coaster reading her something she’s written. Kate has a knack for writing about situations that are hard but with characters you genuinely want to see happy. My Daughters Baby was emotional because the plot is something I’ve thought about personally. If something happened to one of my kids what would happen to my relationship with my grandkids? There is no “ grandparents” rights established in court so you’d have to hope your child’s spouse would allow you full access to your grand babies. But what if you don’t have a relationship, what if they are mad at you, what if the other spouses family is over bearing and not willing to share? So scary to think about.
In My Daughters Baby Diana and Andrew learn that their estranged daughter is minutes from passing. They are so confused to learn Sophie has given birth to a baby boy and is suffering from septic shock. They are guilt stricken and the past 18 months of zero communication over a disagreement seem like the biggest waste. For what? Andrew forbade Sophie from seeing Tom because first impressions showed he was an ex con with no real direction. Instead Sophie married Tom and got pregnant and her parents were kept in the dark.
Now that Sophie is gone the three must navigate what the future will look like. Could Andrew and Diane get custody of baby Henry? Could they let Tom into their home just to stay close to Henry? What would Sophie want? All three of them are grieving and want what best for Henry, but can they navigate this storm together or will this cost them a chance to watch Henry grow up.

Netgally ARC 🖤

One of those books that’s perfect for a rainy day, a cozy blanket, and a warm drink. The writing flows effortlessly, making it a cute and easy read despite the heavy emotional themes.

From the very beginning, you’re caught between who to root for — the grieving grandparents or the young son-in-law. Both sides have their flaws and toxic traits, yet as the story unfolds, their humanity shines through. I loved how Kate Hewitt handled this delicate balance, slowly revealing each character’s depth and intentions.

There are a few unexpected twists that kept the story fresh and engaging. I genuinely wanted to keep turning the pages to see how the emotional tug-of-war would play out.

That said, I did find myself wishing we had chapters from Tom’s perspective. His voice felt missing at times, and I think that would have added even more emotional weight to the story.

Overall, a heartfelt, engaging read that makes you reflect on grief, family, and what it means to do the right thing — even when it's not clear what that is.

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kate Hewitt never fails to deliver a story that hits straight to the heart, and My Daughter’s Baby is no exception. This book explores motherhood, loss, and the impossible choices that come when love and responsibility collide. It’s a slow burn emotionally the kind of story that grows heavier the more you read, but also more meaningful.

What I loved most is how real the characters felt. No one is perfect here every decision feels messy, human, and understandable. Hewitt captures that emotional gray area where doing the “right thing” doesn’t always feel right. I found myself frustrated at times, then heartbroken, then deeply moved which to me means the author did her job beautifully.

The writing is tender but powerful, the pacing steady, and the emotional payoff worth every page. It’s not a light read, but it’s a beautifully honest one about family, forgiveness, and the love that binds and breaks us at the same time.

A deeply affecting story that will stay with me for a while

Kate Hewitt always knows how to hit me right in the feelings, and this one was no different. The story starts with Diana getting a phone call that changes everything. Her estranged daughter, Sophie, has passed away during childbirth, leaving behind a newborn baby and a devastated husband she barely knows. What follows is a story full of heartbreak, forgiveness, and the complicated choices families make when love and loss collide.

The characters felt so real to me; they were messy, emotional, and trying to do their best even when there was no easy answer. I caught myself wondering what I would do in Diana’s shoes more than once. I liked that it didn’t paint anyone as completely right or wrong, just human.

It’s a quick read but it packs a punch emotionally. The moral dilemma at the heart of the story really makes you think about what it means to be a parent, how far love can stretch, and how families can sometimes rebuild even after being broken.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

My Daughter's Baby is the latest captivating read by Kate Hewitt.

In her latest remarkable novel, Kate introduces us to Diana, who had been estranged from her daughter, Sophie, for the past eighteen months. The rift happened after Sophie fell in love with a man named Tom, who did not meet her father's expectations. This led to a significant fallout, resulting in Diana not seeing her daughter again. However, everything changes when Tom reaches out to inform her that Sophie is in a bad way and unlikely to recover after childbirth. Will Dianne and her husband, Andrew, be able to reconcile with Tom for the sake of their daughter's son?

From the very first page, I was completely absorbed in this emotional family drama and found it hard to put down until I reached the end. The story beautifully explored themes of reconciliation, grief, and the challenges of determining who will be the best parents for the baby. The characters are relatable, and while Diana and Andrew may come from a more affluent backgroynd than mine, Audrey (Tom's mother) feels much closer to my experience.

It was interesting to see how the different relationships changed and developed through the book. Diana receives a call to say her estranged daughter is seriously ill and she needs to get there quickly. The call is from Sophie's husband who Diana has met only once under less than ideal circumstances. Diana and Andrew, her husband, have had no contact with their daughter Sophie since she brought home Tom, a convicted drug dealer to meet them 18 months earlier. And now they find out that Sophie has just given birth. Diana and Andrew want custody as they believe Tom will be an unfit father. We get to know the characters as they move in together and we find out more about their backgrounds leading them to where they are today. Prejudices are challenged throughout from different sides of the social divide, and assumptions change. The plot is quite predictable, but the changing opinions add to it.

👶ARC Review - My Daughter's Baby by Kate Hewitt👶

An older couple, who are estranged from their daughter, get a call to say their daughter is very ill and will pass away leaving behind her newborn baby. Someone will need to raise the child... but who?

I initially thought this was going to be a thriller, but about a quarter of the way in, I realised it was more of a family drama. It’s a deeply emotional story that explores grief, complicated family dynamics, and the different ways people cope with loss.

Although it wasn’t what I expected, I found it beautifully written and emotionally powerful. There’s a strong sense of suspense around what will happen to the baby, which kept me turning the pages.

It’s not my usual kind of read, but I really enjoyed it, a heartbreaking but thoughtful story.

Fans of Jodi Picoult or Liane Moriarty will like this one.

This is a book about relationships. How we think they should be. How they actually are.
In a world where social media magnifies everything, and preaches perfection, most people are way too hard on themselves.
To steal a line from the book, 'you are your own worst enemy'
We see what we want to see and remember what suits us, rather than confront reality.
In this book the author explores interpersonal relationships within families, encompassing love, guilt and grief, describing perfectly the self doubt and insecurities of the characters.
This is an easy read that draws you in from the start, but I'm sure most readers will understand, empathise and relive the strong emotions so beautifully described.
An excellent read.

Plot: Diana and Andrew are estranged from their daughter Sophie. It has been quite some time since they spoke to her, and out of the blue, the boyfriend calls and Diana and Andrew find out they have a grandson and Sophie has passed during childbirth. Then, their world begins to unravel into a million different directions.

Opinion: I was sucked in from the start. There are so many emotions throughout the book. Some are empathetic, gut wrenching, and hopeful. This story is centered around a family grieving,, family secrets, and who can be trusted through it all.

This book is highly recommended from me for any reader, but especially for fans of Jodi Picoult; this book is definitely for you!

How easy is it too judge someone by their appearance and the one mistake they have made? Without taking the time to get to really know them. This is what Andrew and Diana do when meeting there daughter's boyfriend and it results in a argument that will never be resolved because after giving birth the daughter Sophie tragically doesn't make it. This is a really moving page turner that you don't want to miss. The emotions that most of us have felt at some stage are portrayed realistically. I really wanted a happy outcome for everyone involved in this story because once I got to know them I liked them all. As always the author has drawn out feelings I didn't know I had and the complexity of the plot is outstanding!

My Daughter’s Baby by Kate Hewitt is an emotional and engaging story. It is a family drama that explores grief, the different ways people cope with the loss of a loved one, and complicated family dynamics. When we first meet the characters, we get one impression of them. Initial impressions of the characters evolve as we discover their deeper qualities. The story reveals more about the characters as they grow and their relationships evolve. Prejudices are tested by those on both sides of the cultural divide, and we get to see how their presumptions change. I did feel the ending was a tad rushed, and I was left with a couple of unanswered questions (it was a still a sweet ending). My Daughter’s Baby is a poignant tale about a bewildering loss, a baby boy, an unforeseen house guest, first impressions, baby blues, a returning parent, and finding a way forward.

This book deals with the unexpected and shocking arrival of a newborn boy and the death of his mother. The mother's parents have been estranged from her because of the unacceptability of the man in her life, the baby's father, Tom. They had only met him once and he was lacking in so many ways.

The mother's family is very wealthy, The father has lead a broken life. But he loved the baby's mother and he loves and wants his son, Henry. This book explores family dynamics, love, mistakes, and overcoming life's hardships. It is touching and heartbreaking. Can Tom be a good father? How will the relationships work? Can they all share baby Henry?

The story is engrossing and touching. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookcouture for an early version of this book.

Another phenomenal emotionally charged book by Kate Hewitt. "My Daughters Baby" is a book all about family, from estrangement to trauma to a type of reconciliation. It's written in 2 parts, first in Diane's POV (the mother) and then in Audrey and Diane's POV.
I don't want to give the plot away too much but how would you deal with not being able to reconcile with your daughter before it's too late? Or realising your own trauma and mistakes and to not have history repeat itself?
This book hits all the marks when it comes to in depth characters, emotions, fears, grief, relatability and story line. It made me weep and smile all at once, a must read!

MY DAUGHTER’S BABY by KATE HEWITT is an emotional novel about fraught family relationships, remorse, prejudice and guilt as parents come to terms with their feelings and try to make up for past mistakes.
Whilst Diana Lawrence is keen to give her dead daughter’s husband Tom a chance, her husband Andrew is ready to make a call to the lawyers and start a custody battle for his newly born grandson. Then there is also Tom’s mother who has been largely absent during his life……..
The story is well told with some very raw emotions coming to the fore.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bookouture. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

This storyline really tackled the different ways in which families pull together in times of need. It started straight away with an emotional beginning, such a sucker punch!! It raised many difficult issues throughout, losing loved ones, losing jobs, fear of children being taken away, giving second chances and in-laws at loggerheads. It also proved just how wrong you can be about first impressions. My only negative would be that it didn’t feel long enough. I suppose that shows how much I enjoyed the book as I wanted to read more. This is my first book by this author and I am very intrigued to read more.

My Daughter’s Baby is an emotional and deeply moving story that explores love, family, and the complicated choices that shape our lives. Kate Hewitt does a beautiful job of portraying complex relationships and raw emotions — her writing feels heartfelt and genuine. I found myself really connecting with the characters, especially as they navigated such sensitive and difficult situations.

While a few parts felt a bit predictable, the story’s emotional depth and strong character development more than made up for it. Overall, it’s a touching and thought-provoking read that stayed with me long after I finished it.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! My Daughter’s Baby by Kate Hewitt is an emotional roller coaster. When Sophie has an argument with her parents, she digs her heels in and refuses to speak to them for nearly 18 months. Then Tom, her husband, calls his in-laws with both happy and sad news. What follows is nothing short of pure anguish. Over the following months, Diana learns to trust her instincts and helps Tom navigate parenting. When Tom’s mother meets this new, strange, almost blended family, she is angry, jealous and hurt. Together they all learn to swim through the grief and find a new way to live for He Ty’s benefit. Overall, a great story I would recommend to others.

What would you do if you get a call saying your estranged daughter is seriously ill in the hospital? You haven’t talked to her for almost 2 years. But, this is your daughter.
After going to the hospital, they find out they have a grandson.
First thoughts are they need to take over custody of the baby….
A heartbreaking story about family, grief and healing.

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
