After their moment of torrid passion is interrupted by clanging alarms, Emma, Max and Jack face off against a horde of zombies. Her small Outlands farm is quickly overrun by the endless stream of undead, and the trio has no choice but to make a run for it. Just when all seems lost, a Zed team from Outpost Nine saves the day.
But Emma quickly discovers that being claimed as a mate by the two capable, commanding cyborg officers carries consequences she never dared to imagine. Separated from her men and tossed into quarantine, Emma questions her decision to trust Max and Jack.
When Max breaks every rule in the book to break into the quarantine unit, Emma will have to choose what she wants: a future with Max and Jack or a new life, alone, in the Outlands.
**Part Two of the five part sexy scifi romance serial EMMA (Outpost Nine) is 160 pages long. A new installment will be available every three weeks.**
While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created.
As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college.
Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history.
Lo lives in Texas with her family and beloved Great Dane, Bosley.
This was a quick enticing read, that was light and tasty. If you're down with MMF menage then this may be right up your alley.
The reason I liked it was due to the fantastic dystopian world building, which features a woman living on her own trying to make it in a world that's fine Topsy turvy. The addition of two ultra hot cyborg males was an added bonus, but what I really enjoyed was the colorful world-building.
Overall, I liked it and now I'm hooked on the series.
Book two in the series has the same problem as the first - it can't make its mind up about whether the plot is about mankind/cyborgs v. Zombies or just a plain old-fashioned love story (even if it does involve two bisexual cyborgs and an innocent though deadly young woman). It also has a major problem in that while the storyline involves adult content the people involved seem juvenile in their response to events - Emma, in particular, seems to just soak up events, always initially blaming Max and Jack, and then forgiving them for no particular reason. The author simply can't pull the strands together to make it coherent - this book is a bit of a mess. Then again you could argue that it isn't a book, just a chapter or two in a continuing story - but it ain't working for me.
After Emma's home is destroyed by the zombie horde, she thrust into quarantine away from Max and Jack. Learning the realities of the outpost has its own challenges.
Book Two takes up where book 1 left off. While not a fan of series/serials, I love the world this author has created. The book is well written with very good world building, and interesting and believable story line, great three dimensional characters (the three principals and many of the minor characters) and great sex. One of the things I like about this author is that she continues working and developing the story line as well as on going character development. Overall I rated the book at 4 with a sexy rating of 5 (a la LaDeet). I have already bought and read book 3 and it is very good. Although the author had been ill and not able to complete the series, I am hopeful that she will be able to do in the near future. Ms. Lopez has a lot of promise as an author and I for one will keep reading her work!
This story was great. There was plenty if action, mystery, suspense, and a ton of heat. I love all three characters. I love Emma's strength. I love how Mac and Jack feel about Emma. The story of what happens to Emma once the reach the outpost was interesting. And the love scene made burn marks on my Kindle. I usually don't care for mmf scenes, but this one was hot enough. Only downside is that I can't wait for the next installment. And I hope we get some of the other minor character's stories.
I enjoyed this second installation even more than the first as we're brought further into this dystopian world! Emma is a great character I've connected to and care about; she's strong, intelligent, and vulnerable. I feel so bad for the overwhelming situation she finds herself in, but she has two incredibly strong and capable cyborgs to protect her. The sex is ramped up to oh-my-God-hotness, with promises from Emma's lovers for more deviant things to try next time... I can't wait ;)
Really not much to this series except sex otherwise not much of a storyline until the end of book 2 or part 2. Granted I love sex scenes but like a bit of storyline and some sort of depth of a story and of yet nothing~> I'm actually surprised as this author is usually so entertaining but so far not much of anything going on until very end. I'm thinking these installments should just be combined and complete a book. Because so far this is not what I'm used to with this author.
Yes, I know I hate serial books but this is a Lolita Lopez book and it does have Zombies, so try to keep me from it. Though it must be said I loved it! Really great Zombie horde fighting for your life scene and some super sexy pages also. Can't wait for the next installment.
The writer knows how to keep you on your toes from beginning to end. It grabs your attention and keeps you curious about what comes next. Highly entertaining and looking forward for the next book.
We move beyond the small parcel of land that Emma has to the compound that sounds way too restrictive and especially prejudiced against Original women. I still liked this book, I'm just hoping there is some awareness that happens later.
I Caved and read Part Two fully knowing that the rest of this serial is incomplete. Still enjoyed it and I'm really hoping that the rest of the installments are coming soon.
