I'm still reading this, about 2/3 through. The only reason I'm still reading it is that there is some insight into how to react to cat behavior, but honestly this book is pretty ridiculous. Of course it's very dated, published in 1978, but even taking into account the assumptions about women of the time, it is weird. It's like 1 part cat behavior and health advice, and 2 parts psychological cry for help. Weirdly graphic about "your" bodily functions (it's mostly written in the second person), and absolutely forlorn about "your" love life. Just weird.

I got this book thinking it would be a good companion to Inside of a Dog but THAT was everything THIS was not. Talk about not anthpomorphizing, she actually says to EXPLAIN to your cat how a new cat is coming to be their friend and that it will enrich their lives. Yeah, because your cat understands that. Read Inside of a Dog. I am still looking for an "Inside of a Cat"
