Holiday with a Cu'zod Warrior #1

Snowed In With An Alien/Intrappolati dalla neve con un alieno: (Versione italiana) (Cu'zod Warriors italiana Vol. 1)

Rate this book

AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.

Hats make everything better

Such an amazing story! There were tears of sadness, tears of joy, tears of loss and tears of reunion throughout the book. Don’t worry it’s not a complete downer, and no you don’t need a box of tissues. Between the tears there were these fantastic moments of pure delight, giggling laughter, and confusing saucy winks, not to mention a turn around in attitude that has such promise for the future. The characters were amazing and I can’t imagine not falling in love with them. They all had the best outlook on life and were able to smile and laugh through the pain. And the story was phenomenal! I really hope there are many more books to come in this series because I can’t imagine they won’t be fantastic.

Aida's big sister married a Cu’zod who crashed on their planet. Her sister and her alien husband lived happily on Earth and even had a baby together. Then a few years later they are killed in a fire at their business, leaving their daughter Pansy an orphan. Aida immediately steps in to take care of Pansy and plans to give her a special Christmas after the deaths of her parents. She was going to invite her dad and step-mom to join them but after meeting Pansy, they decide to fight Aida for custody. Aida rushes out with Pansy and goes to the cabin she rented in Northern Maine. When she is almost at the cabin, she is almost run into by a Cu’zod ship. The alien ship crashes and Aida finds Trexon wandering in the snowstorm naked. She rescues him and brings him back to the cabin with Pansy and her. Together they try to make this first Christmas without her parents special. Aida can't help falling for Trexon but she knows when the snowstorm is over they will both go their seperate ways.

Trexon is on Earth to sigh the newest Cu’zod-human treaty since he is part of the ruling family. Someone recommended him to take a scenic route through the US on his way to Washington,DC. He does enjoy the scenery but the white stuff falling from the sky, is too much for his ship. He has to make an emergency landing and almost hits Aida's car instead. The crash and the cold disorients him so much that he thinks she is a lunarsprite there to guide him to his final resting place. After he is warmed up and in his right mind again, he is curious about Aida and Pansy. Pansy seems sad and he realizes that she will never learn much about her father's people unless he teaches her. He also is surprised to learn that Aida is his fated mate. He does love but she and Pansy but he knows that politics between the two planets will keep them apart. The only time he can have with his mate is until the northeaster is over.

Very cute and sweet. I very much liked the characters. I stayed intrigued enough to read the sequel.

However....the incongruity between alien-to-human tech and non-tech was poorly explained (if it was ever explained at all) and I often found myself unable to suspend my disbelief because of that. Certain actions contradicted established in-world norms without subsequent explanation. It would've been fine if there were just one or two instances but they were peppered all throughout the rather short book. It got rather obnoxious, considering I know for a fact the author can and has completed MUCH better writing.

I also couldn't figure out how in the hell the h's jerkfaced father managed to find out what cabin she'd rented for the holiday since she NEVER TOLD HIM. It doesn't matter if he's a powerful guy or not, nobody would've had ready access to that type of information. I'm also baffled as to how that evil mogul's heavy-ass low-rider limosine managed to make it all the way up a treacherous snowed-over mountain pass before noon on Christmas Day, given that the 3-day blizzard had barely stopped less than 12 hours previously. This is especially the case since the snow ploughs wouldn't yet have had a chance to dig out everyone, even on the main roads, much less even further out in the boonies where the little cabin was situated.

All in all, this one didn't have nearly the polish of other stories by Ava Ross and I was almost surprised that she's the one who wrote it.

Had it been written by a new/intermediate author who didn't know better, had minimal experience, or had poor editing skills/editors, I wouldn't be such a stickler. But it was obvious to me that this story was either thrown in and never properly edited/revised due to time constraints, lack of motivation, or perhaps both.

Aida has always been made to feel second best by her father. The death of her sister and her alien mate have left a gorgeous three year old daughter named Pansy behind them. Without so much as a doubt the second that she was called to take care of her niece she took on the role. They have both battled against their loss together and you can tell much they love each other. She hopes to make this Christmas for Pansy the best and most magical ever so she foolishly tries to involve her father and step-mother. It unwittingly gives them the idea that they should be raising Pansy and not her. Knowing she will have a trial which will just be a formality before Pansy is taken from her she heads to the cabin to make memories before she loses her. Trex, Prince Trexon but he's not likely to ever be on the throne, is taking a look at the Earth before he is buried in diplomatic dullness in a room which could frankly be anywhere when his ship crashes. Thrown alive but into deep snow in the path of a snow storm he has very little chance of survival until in his delirious state he sees a Lunarsprite, come to take him to his warrior's final resting place. Except it's not a Lunarsprite it is a beautiful human called Aida and who if he is not mistaken is also his mate. But he cannot stay on Earth and she cannot go with him. These few days over Christamas are all they have to last them a life-time without each other. WIll they take the chance?

I loved this story! I usually don't read Christmas romances, but the alien aspect did it for me. I loved the characters and watching them interact and bond. It was so sweet and heartwarming. Certain scenes in the book made me emotional too. And other scenes had me laughing out loud!

Aida went to visit her father and stepmother for Christmas, but she didn't go alone. She brought her three-year old orphaned niece with her. She had petitioned to adopt her and planned on raising her in her sister's stead. Her sister fell in love with a Cu'zod male and they had a child. When they died, Aida took Pansy in and now promised her a nice Christmas and thought she should see her grandparents. Her father was cold, tyrannical, and hated Aida, and her stepmother was just as cold. He hated aliens and tried to throw the child out of his house. But his wife, unable to have children of her own decided she wanted her. When Aida's father tried to take Pansy and decided to call a judge to adopt her for his wife instead, Aida fled with Pansy to a cabin retreat to celebrate Christmas as promised.. and figure out a way to keep Pansy while her rich father would try and bribe the judge for custody instead. On the way, her car was nearly hit by a spaceship, and she rescued a naked Cu'zod male from a blizzard and brings him with them to the cabin. Loved this story! 5 stars.

'Snowed in with an Alien' by Ava Ross is the first book in her new Holiday with a Cu'zod Warrior series and tells the story of Aida, who is determined to give her three old niece an unforgettable Christmas, and Trexon, a Cu'zod alien who crash landed on Earth. Aida and her niece, Pansy, are going to a cabin in the woods to spend Christmas. On the way to the cabin they almost get into a crash with the spaceship. Adia goes to help any survivors of the crash and it turns out to be Trexon. Adia takes him to the cabin with her and Pansy. Trexon is confused from hitting his head during the crash and thinks that Adia is a lunarsprite to take him home to the three moons. What he can't understand is why he wants to kiss her so badly.

Ms. Ross has written a sweet beginning to her new series. It was interesting to learn what happened to Tory and Zikane's daughter. The connection between Aida and Trexon was both sweet and hot. I loved how they worked together to give Pansy a magical Christmas. This story had magic, laughs, passion, suspense, action, and plenty of heat. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a different kind of holiday romance.

Oh boy did this one tug at my heart strings.

Aida is trying to pick up the pieces for her and her niece to have a good Christmas after the death of her parents 6 months ago. She has rented a cabin in remote Maine as the setting for their hopefully magical holiday. As a nor'Easter blows in, a spaceship almost clips their car and crashes.
Aida, Trex, and Pansy end up spending Christmas together on accident, but they come to find there is no where else they would rather be. Trex needs to leave as soon as the weather clears, meaning their time is limited. They resolve to make the best of the time they have.

They have only known each other for such a short time but they become so important to each other. It was heart wrenching watching Trex leave. While Santa has already come, his helper potentially has a Christmas miracle up his sleeve.

A perfect heart warming ending.

My heart gushed reading of Aida and Trex together. Pansy was adorable. I cannot say enough positive things.

This will definitely become a holiday staple for me. Can't wait to read book 2.

With plenty of familial woes (and I mean PLENTY), Aida is determined to show her sweet niece at least one nice holiday before things go from bad to worse (in her opinion). (You know, that's in my opinion, too. Her family is a wee bit messed up. Wee bit.)

Anywho. A crash landing has Trex forced to spend the holiday with her and Pansy. It's not really a hardship, really, except both and he Aida know it's only going to be short term since he has to head back to his planet. Despite that drawback, they fall for one another hard and fast and just resign themselves to dealing with the fallout of being alone after.

(This has nothing to do with the story, but I kept calling Trex T-Rex in my head and that's kind of a weird visual to have when you're reading a sex-ay story.)

A white Christmas, an excited half-alien kiddo, making memories, and a few steamy kisses. Holiday fun with an alien. Good stuff.

I enjoyed this alien romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Aida and Trexon.

Aida want to give her niece a wonderful Christmas this year. So she rented a mountain cabin to spend Christmas at. But after leaving her father's house she didn't expect there to be a blizzard on the way to the cabin. Before she can get there a spaceship flying over almost makes her go over the mountain. The spaceship look to have trouble because it crashes close by.

Trexon has came to Earth for a diplomatic mission. He is a alien from Cu'-zod. While trying to get to the place he uncounted a blizzard and has trouble flying his spacecraft.  Something goes wrong a he crash. He finds himself stumbling throughout the cold snow but soon finds a female earth that rescues him.

This was a fun story to read. It has action and adventure within. It also had quite a few laughs and giggles too. A little steamy to.

This enjoyable story is about Aida who wants to give the best Christmas ever to her niece Pansy, half human and half Cu'zod. Pansy parents died in a fire and Aida is trying to adopt her but her father who is rich has also decided to adopt her because his new wife can not have kids. Before her father takes Pansy away, Aida is driving her niece to a cabin she rented on a cold snowy night. While driving a spaceship comes toward her car and she swerves it into a ditch to avoid it. Meanwhile Trexon on a diplomatic mission to renew the Earth-Cu'zod Treaty, crash lands and is stumbling outside is helped by Aida who takes him to the cabin. Celebrating Christmas, the romance blossoms and they become a unit. With the treaty as it is, Trexon must leave. Will Earth give him permission to stay with his fated mate or will he have to leave? This was a well written engaging story that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.

I love how in the book Aida flat out states she won't be trapped in a "fated mate trope" like you see in books. Very meta, but also too late as she is trapped in a fated mate and forced proximity book with the addition of a plot moppet (an orphaned one, for extra tropey oomph). But I found this book very sweet. Trex was so great at trying to figure out the Christmas thing. And while both he and Aida were focused on making it fun for Peony, they managed to squeeze in some fun for themselves.

I was a teensy bit bothered by some of the drama. But overall it was a great story and a fun little Christmas romp.

Aida has been given guardianship of her orphaned niece Pansy after her parents died in a fire. Pansy's mother was human and her father was a Cu'zod alien. Not all people on Earth are happy with the intermingling of the species, including Aida's father and Pansy's grandfather. So Aida takes Pansey to a mountain cabin for an old fashioned Christmas. On the way there they come across Trexon, a Cu'zod ambassador who has crash landed on Earth. After hitting his head in the crash he is confused and thinks Aida is a lunarsprite. But soon discovers she's not and they have intense chemistry. Trexon soon realizes Aida is his mate, but cat figure out how they can make things work between them. The story is a fast paced, warm and fuzzy, steamy read. And best of all, is available on KU so you can read it for FREE.

This definitely had great moments and I can’t deny I cried a little around the end but then there were also lots of things written down that made me question if the author really thought about what she wrote.
Ok that sounds really harsh and it’s really just small things but the they bugged me a little.
For example we get to know that royalty in Cu‘zed lives under the poor but then he think of the Christmas tree that it’s so grand it’s worth of a king.
Another thing is that she says at some point that she is learning reading with Pansy but Pansy is 3 years old and that’s a little too young to start learning reading.
I also really didn’t like the whole situation with her father and stepmom.
So this is not my favorite book of Ava Ross but it was still good and I think I will still read the 2nd book in the series.

A Christmas Miracle ? . . .

Aria wants her 3-year-old niece, Pansy, to have a special Christmas. She rents a cabin in Maine but driving through a snowstorm to the cabin, they end up in a ditch when a spaceship dives toward them! She finds Trexon crashed in the woods and she takes him to the cabin for shelter.

Aida is so loving and the two adults are able to share a joyful Christmas with Pansy. There are amusing scenes as he tries Earth foods and drink. But it makes him even more approachable and Aida and Trexon begin to fall in love. He will be leaving, though, as soon as the storm clears up. He has a mission to complete and he will then go directly home to his planet. Is this goodbye for them? Or is there a Christmas miracle left in their stocking to brighten their futures?

A blizzard, Christmas magic and a Santa hat

Aida wants to give her recently orphaned 1/2 Human/Cu'zod niece a perfect holiday memory & wish. An unexpected blizzard causes havoc, but could provide a winter wonderland. If they can make it to the cabin rental first.

Trexon crashes en route to a diplomatic mission.. He believes the Sprite is there to take him beyond their moons..ah, no. The blizzard throws him into the path of his fate, human, mate and an adorable Cu'zod young one.

Sharing a cabin, Christmas (human) traditions & experiences makes for a wonderful story. You'll especially love the Santa hat. Great read, good story, heart warming, sexy and sassy toi. Enjoy.

This was a delightfully fun, sweet, and sexy read. I loved the blend of Christmas magic with a hottie of an alien. Trex's innocence when it comes to things on earth made me giggle right along with Aida. His interactions with Pansy, her niece, warmed my heart. And how Aida and his relationship evolved and grew had me sighing in happiness. I loved how the author wove in the magic of Christmas, and though I had some sad tears while reading, I got my happy ending I wanted. I'd love to read more by this author in and this series.

Aria and her 3 year old niece Pansy are driving through a snowstorm to a cabin she rented for the Christmas holiday. Their car ends up in the ditch as she swerves to avoid being hit by a spaceship?? Aria gets out, sees the lights from the vehicle in the woods and finds Terk wandering in the snowstorm- nude. Aria and Terk work together to give Pansy the best Christmas ever. But they struggle with their growing feelings for each other and worries of circumstances that threaten to tear them apart and take Pansy away. This is a well written story and I love HEA's.

Emotionally poignant and still humorous, this book had me feeling all of Aida and Pansy's emotions. That involved some really intense writing skills. Like, I literally cried a few times. But I also felt the love they shared. The addition of Trex, who had that innocence of his first Christmas as well as realizing what Aida was to him. I had to read this straight through, it was definitely packed with emotion, I kept wishing that the whole Tory and Kizon thing was a government conspiracy or something other than the devastation that it was. I loved the pure love the three of them had for each other. It's just a wonderful story!

A heart warming love story with all the feels.

This was a really good and sweet love story. There was humor, sweet moments, just enough angst and sex! It had it all. I would definitely recommend!

A alien crashes in the snow a few days before Christmas on his way to sign a treaty. He is saved by a woman and her niece. This is the first Christmas for these two ladies since a tragedy occurred in their family. The hilarity and good times that ensue once they rescue the alien are just the Christmas present they needed! The alien doesn't know what Christmas is but he finds himself loving every minute!

Aida and Trexon...and Pansy. The magic of Christmas runs through this beautiful story.  Both Aida and Trexon are wonderful, fully fleshed characters you can't help but like. Though my favorite is 3 year old Pansy, the half human, half Cu'zod niece of Aida. The story warmed me and gave me all of the feels. As Aida and Trex fell in love so did I. I truly enjoyed Christmas in September. I have yet to read an Ava Ross book that was less than 5 stars. She is a guaranteed good read. 5+ hearts from me!

The first book in the Holiday with a Cu'zod Warrior series a well written Christmas story that I know I will be reading again. Aida Bradstreet has been given custody of her human/cu'zod niece Pansy, but her father is going to take Pansy away from her so she runs with her. Aida goes to a cabin where she finds Trexon Roadas Valkaras a Cu'zod warrior who is injured. I enjoyed seeing their story come together as they get to know each other at the cabin. This was a well-written story by one of my favorite authors, Ava Ross. This book 1 in The Holiday with a Cu'zod Warrior Book Series was intriguing with very well-thought out scenes, characters and storyline during the holidays. These characters have strong wills, unique personalities and believable interactions. This entertaining story has the following: intrigue, twists, turns, adventure, action, danger, love, steam and a HEA. It's a fast-paced and engaging from start to finish.

“Now you will hike me around the moons, lunarsprite.”

Trex might not have met Aids and her niece Pansy under ideal circumstances, but this holiday themed story mixes the best of the holidays with a fantastic sense of humor and delightful characters resulting in a page-turner.

Aida hasn't known unconditional love the way Trex has, yet somehow she knows how to offer it to Pansy, and the more time he spends as part of their little family, the more he wishes this was his family.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read hits all the best marks for a holiday story!

It's always the right time for a holiday story!

I am one of those people that will read a Christmas book in the middle of May. Seeing is how it's 3 days to Halloween It seemed like the perfect time to read a Christmas story. This book did not disappoint. It is definitely a feel-good Christmas tale. I enjoyed the folk tales told from the alien perspective as well as the alien's perspective of our own Christmas stories. However, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to look at a Santa hat the same way again.
