Find the joy—no matter how big or small—in every moment! In the midst of stress and turmoil, it can be easy to miss the daily opportunities we have for delight. Cheerful poet David Larbi reminds us that in every season of life and the year, there is the possibility for joy—if only we would claim it. Through bright poems, moving meditations, and inspiring journal prompts, this book offers you a chance to reflect on the happy happenstances all around you and build a deeper habit of noticing and appreciating life's simple and profound pleasures. Whether it's raising an indoor chili plant, getting a new hairstyle, setting boundaries, or embracing challenge, every day holds the potential for more meaning, connection, and lasting fulfillment.
This was such a nice little read. I used to watch David on TikTok all the time because I loved his little poems, especially the happy ones about his pepper plant. I forgot his name so I was so pleasantly surprised when the audio started and I recognized his voice.
I love the format of this. Each chapter being bookmarked by a poem at the beginning and a journal prompt at the end was so clever. The short chapters are wonderful, and I loved his personal insight into each idea. Some of these thoughts may be "obvious" but I think sometimes it's so helpful to hear someone else say them out loud.
I bookmarked several of the journal prompts on the audio so I can go back and really think about my own answers to them. This was such a short, easy audio to listen to because David's voice brings so much joy in what he's saying. I needed a little pick me up like this, so I'm really glad I listened to it.
The poetry was very much not my cup of tea. It was all quite on the nose. I would’ve loved it in second grade, I bet.
I did really enjoy and appreciate the journaling prompts, despite the fact that I didn’t actually journal any of them. We enjoy a thinking activity in this house.
I had to get a signed copy 🤭 A lot of the thoughts and ideas in this book may seem obvious and ordinary, but at the same time it’s nice to be reminded of them and hear somebody else say it.
Steward of Good Things stuck out for me . Reading this book was a pleasant experience
