The Sentinels #3

A Dangerous Fury

Rate this book
Hunter Winston has only one goal in life: to kill as many Evils as possible.
When Hunter is sent on a mission to find a mysterious female who can help the Sentinels finally win their battle against the Evils, he’s not happy about the errand interrupting his constant compulsion to kill the red-eyed, ugly evil demons. But he owes his brothers and their Sentinel king his life, so he hopes he can get the task done as soon as possible and return to his solitary life of wasting Evils again. How complicated can retrieving a single female be? Hunter is about to discover that a simple mission can become very…complicated!

The goddess, Athena, has been held prisoner for thousands of years. The time of the gods is long gone, and she’s ready to go to her final rest as soon as she knows the balance between good and evil is restored. Unfortunately, that isn’t what the Fates had planned for her thousands of years ago, and Athena has to make a choice that will affect her existence for eternity.

Can an angry Hunter and a virginal but powerful goddess embrace their destiny, or will the many forces working against them destroy their one shot at happiness?
Find out if the fire and emotion that burns between goddess and Sentinel is enough to torch all of their personal demons in Book 3 of the Sentinel demon series, A Dangerous Fury.

**This is book 3 in the Sentinel demon series. It’s highly recommended that you read A Dangerous Bargain, Book 1 (Zach’s Story), and A Dangerous Hunger, Book 2 (Drew’s Story) before starting Book 3, A Dangerous Fury, (Hunter’s Story).**

I love to read Paranormal Romance books and have been eagerly waiting to read about Hunter. The Sentinels Series is one of my favourite Paranormal reads.
Hunter is indeed a demon hunter, Hunter by name hunter by nature. From the beginning he was never one to sit around and wait for things to happen, the Sentinel is a doer not a thinker.
His leader Kristoff sends him on a journey to go see the Goddess Athena. Athena is protected by very powerful magic, the kind that no man could penetrate but Hunter is not a just a man he's a powerful Sentinel with powers of his own. Unfortunately his powers are failing him, he can't understand why. Beasts are attacking him from all directions while he makes his way to Athena. The task should have been simple but the journey is one that is so dangerous thoughts of Hunter not surviving become all to real.
Athena is patiently awaiting for Hunter to arrive, she thought he would have arrived long ago. She has never left her home which has been like living in a prison but with all the luxuries anyone would desire. It has been a lonely existence for her but one she has lived regardless of the walls surrounding her.
Athena is a very powerful Goddess, she has no problem protecting herself.
What occurs after the brutal journey that Hunter had to make is astounding it's not what I expected at all.
If you have read the first to books in this series you will know that Kristoff and Athena are close friends. I always believed they would mate one day.
Such a wonderful feeling to be in love but it's never without a series of complications.
Sentinels who find their true mate become very protective, an instinct they can not fight against no matter how hard they try. So many evils out there wanting to hurt humans and most definitely the mates of Sentinels. This is why God created the Sentinels to protect the humans. The cycle of life is the same for everyone that is human, you live, hopefully fall in love, be happy and then you die. For a Sentinel it can be a life spam of thousands of years with no mate.
I loved this book. Author J.S.Scott always brings the story to life. Thank you once again for a brilliantly read.

5 Unexpected Radiant Stars

5 Star Kindle Unlimited Read
There are two favorites I have in this series. The first Hunter, the other is still to come. My only complaint is that the tales Scott in spinning in this series are way to short. I would like to restore about each characters feelings. As much as I love Hunter, he is flat, not three-dimensional.
Positives
Hunter got his radiant and I didn't see it coming. Well the one he got anyway. I just thought she was going to heal him.
Negative
Kristoff is still being tortured. However, his mate may be with him.

Looooved it! I'm so happy Hunter got his well deserved story and . In previous books he was eccentric, tortured and so angry but in this one we get to see a whole new side of him and the reason why he was acting like that and did all those things, that got him into trouble for most of the time. His chosen one is definitely someone that can keep him in check and they are really great together as a couple.

Can't wait for the final book and Kristoff's story. :D

This is another wonderful book by the brilliant J.S. Scott. This is her third book in the Sentinel Demons series. I just love this latest book. This is an exciting paranormal romance, Hunter is a demon hunter that is sent on assignment to the Goddess Athena. The trip to her castle is very dangerous. Hunter lives a lonely existence, a prisoner in his own tortured mind. Athena has many powers but she is a prisoner too, her prison, a lonely castle all alone for thousands of years. This book should really be read after the first two books have been read. If you love paranormal romance, this is a must read series.

Hunter was sent to find Athena who is a Princess who has lived
a long time .. When Hunter gets there he was in bad shape from her magic
set to let no evil into her place .. Hunter awakens and to find out Athena is his mate .
Hunter was less then thrill about it .. But the Mate thing was only temporary..
Can Hunter and Athena stay mated ?? Do they find what they are looking for ??
This is the 3rd book in series it was a very good read ..

Intense, engaging and come on what the end. Nah

I'm always deeply moved by a J.S Scott read.
Intense- Well I have been following the Sentinel Demons since it first installment and I moved by all that information that the author is able to provide on the characterization and still keep the readers interested.
Engaging - every challenge these characters face I find myself feeling as though I'm right the with them. There is this one incident (don't worry no spoilers) where I held my breath because of the abuse the heroine was enduring. Okay I have to address the chemistry! Wow it was so tender and loving for a main character who as I know is a an emotionally beaten and troubled individual. I went into this book expecting to hate Hunter and his defiance but surprisingly I felt the exact opposite. It was so engaging to read Hunter expression and his reaction to Athena being in his life.
...and come on the end. Nah- This is my only disappointed, I was totally captivated by this read and then the author brought it to an abrupt end. I'm thirsty for more and looking forward to Kristoff NOW!! hehe,

Hot, sexy, passion, Alpha male and paranormal need I say more. I thoroughly enjoyed the 3rd book of The Sentinel Demons.

Hunter the third brother seeks out Athena, the goddess left behind to watch over the Sentinels. Once Hunter meets her sparks fly between them and shocks them both. Athena is his radiant and it's temporary to help save Earth, which I'm sure we will read, that it book 4. This story was mostly devoted to Hunter and Athena's passion for each other.

J.S. Scott always takes me on a hot, sexy read and I got another fantastic story. I enjoyed how she wrote Athena's first experience of mating with hot and erotic scenes.

Athena and Hunter's fate is in the balance and decisions must be made in order for them to live a HEA. Will Athena and Hunter make the right decision or does Athena return to the gods.

I can't wait to see what happens in book 4 and would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal with a lot of passionate erotic scenes.
This book is not a standalone and needs to be read in sequence.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I am already a huge fan of this author and this is another amazing book from her.

In this book we find out Hunter's and Athena's story. We have seen Hunter in each of the other two books but did not know his story only that he was a hold nothing back including his own safety to go after the evils of the world. Athena we also met in previous books she is the goddess who created the sentinel demons but until now her interaction has been limited to Kristoff (the leader of the sentinels).

There is so much that is in the book that I want to tell you about but as a reader I liked to experience them for themselves. The preview that was received at the end of A Dangerous Hunger gives us a glimpse into this couple but the whole book is really an eye opener. If you have not read this series this book can be read as a stand alone but there will be references to the other two books that you will not understand.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This is another amazing hit in this series and will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. Pick up your copy today

The Sentinels Series, Hunters book.
Hunter is Demon hunter, a loner and very dangerous. He's someone that your not sure if you would really like him on a personal level, but we see a different side to Hunter in A Dangerous Fury I was not expecting.

Kristoff sends Hunter on a journey to go see the Goddess Athena. His journey is brutal by the time he reaches her, he is half dead. Athena The Goddess, you would believe that she lives a good life but she's actually a prisoner, desperate to help her Sentinels. When she and Hunter meet its fire, sparks, passion and a battle.

Together a long with the Sentinels, Hunter and Athena face danger and what's to come with the Evil Demons but they also face another problem, their strong feelings for each other. I have to say this is my favorite book of the Sentinels series.

I'm a big fan of J. S. Scott and also of paranormal so this is a win win for me.
This is the third story in the sentinel demons series. Even though each book features a different couple there is a continuing wider story arc that goes through the books, meaning you really need to have read the first two to understand where this story is coming from.
I loved reading Hunter and Athena's book. Even though it's not very long it's got plenty of action and story. I like the sentinel demons and their back story. It's clever and not something that I've seen anything like before.
The connection and romance between Hunter and Athena is great with lots of hotness. I enjoyed learning what made them tick as I was curious from meeting them before in the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, read it in one sitting and can't wait for the next in the series.

l loved this book couldn't put it down. Zach and Drew Winston are Hunters Sentinel brothers, but they are really worried about him. Hunter's family was killed by evils so now Hunter kills as many evils as he can even if not provoked, but by doing that he gets punished and his brothers are afraid that he won't last long. Hunter is sent on a mission where he see's The Goddess Athena and soon finds out that they are more connected then they thought. Hunter & Athena are mates but theirs is not permanent they can choose to be together or not, but they both are having a hard time letting go. Athena disappears but not by choice and when she wakes up she in a prison cell that her father Zeus has put her in and mean while Hunter is going crazy trying to find her.

I love Hunter's story! This is not a standalone book however.

Full of twist and surprises, A Dangerous Fury picks up where A Dangerous Hunger leaves off. Hunter has been given coordinates and was told to find a woman there. Getting there is quite a challenge to Hunter, but the prize is his radient, the light for his dark soul. And Athena is surprised to find she is Hunter's radient.

It's a fun, hot continuation of the Sentinel Demon Series. Loved every minute of this book. Can't wait for the 4th book now!

WOW!! Just when I think it can't get better!!!

This third addition to the series is continually getting better and the storyline is absolutely intense but also the love aspect is sizzling sensual reading. Really enjoyed Hunter's and Athena's joining as his own radiant. Looking forward to King Kristoff's story next can't wait to see who his own radiant is but I know she's going to be someone very special and he really deserves his own HEA. I'm recommending that you check out the whole series as it is just WONDERFUL!!!!!

Always an exciting, hot read.

Scott knows how to tell a great story with hot alpha males and equally hot females as mates. Hunter finally getting his mate was one hot read! I can't wait for the final installment. They really need to rescue the Demon King from the Evils!!!! Hoping he will finally get his own 'radiant'. After all, Kristoff needs a woman of his own. Wonderful story. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I enjoy this series and A Dangerous Fury has been my favorite so far. I loved seeing a more tender side. Hunter doesn't feel worthy but he is and deserves someone like Athena.

I'm not a huge paranormal reader but I love this series. Make sure you read the first two books prior to this one. IT IS NOT A STAND ALONE.

Another wonderful book from J.S. Scott. The relationship between Hunter and Athena was perfect. Hunter believes that he is complete darkness, the essence of who he is, and Athena the goddess, who is pure light and made a sacrifice in order to rid the world from evils. Together, they are perfect! It's a great read and I highly recommend it to any romance book lover!!

Great book

I love this series. With a series like this where there is a standard mating ritual for all couples, it can be easy for an author to get repetitive. But J.S. Scott has done a great job of making each mating experience and love story different and unique for each couple. There was very little action or danger in this book but it in no way detracted from the enjoyment or progress of the story. If you enjoy paranormal romance stories with a bit of action and danger, then this is the series for you - just make sure that you read the series IN ORDER!!!

CAPTIVATING, RIVETING AND SEXY !!!
Title: A Dangerous Fury
Series: The Sentinel Demons
Designation: Book Three, No Cliffhanger but not a Standalone
Author: J S Scott
Genre: Fantasy Romance
My Rating: Five Divinely Entertaining Stars*****
Wow! I love this series. I've been a diehard J Scott fan for years but stumbled upon this series quite by accident. Many of you know J S Scott is most well known for her steamy contemporary billionaire romance but folks, if you haven't tried her paranormal/fantasy Sentinel Demons Series, you've truly missed a divinely entertaining experience. I had no idea she wrote in this genre and apparently I'm not alone. Very few people realize this series exists but I've been totally obsessed since reading the first book of the series, A Dangerous Bargain, in 2014 and anxiously awaited each new release. I even preordered my copy of A Dangerous Fury, the third book, months in advance and couldn't wait to get it in my hot little hands, and Scott did not disappoint! This story features Hunter Winston, the most easily angered and volatile member of the Sentinel Demon Winston brothers, and his love interest is none other than their goddess, Athena. OMG! Who would have ever expected his radiant (predestined mate) to be the goddess and original creator of the Sentinel Demons, a group of warriors chosen to become the protectors of the human race and guardians of the world. I never saw that coming! And that's only one of the reasons I'm so smitten with Scott's work. She's not only an imaginative and very skilled writer, but she keeps her readers guessing and on their toes! She's also an exceptionally gifted storyteller and master wordsmith which has never been more evident than with this release. A Dangerous Fury is a well crafted, well edited, well developed, fast-paced and very unique story with a beautifully written third person narrative. The dual his and her perspectives from the two protagonists gives the reader an inside peek into the thoughts of both Hunter and Athena. The dialogue is intelligent, realistic, well executed, at times funny and flows beautifully. There are so many words that come to mind when trying to describe this series but the one that resonates most in my mind is extraordinary. Although I loved the unique plot featuring a different couple in each book as well as the common enemy and underlying interconnected storyarc which carries forward throughout the entire series, it's the cast of remarkable characters, many of whom appear in each of the books. who completely steal the show. The heroes are all strong, intelligent, loyal, courageous, noble, dedicated, decisive, stubborn and dominant. Oh, and did I mention handsome and hot as haydees? Yup, they're all drop-dead gorgeous devils... Just kidding, folks. They're not devils but the Sentinels are actually demons, or at least part demon. And FYI, they're not actually biological brothers but rather brothers of the heart, bound by choice and a common destiny as warriors fighting against evil, serving as protectors of mankind and guardians of the world. I fell head over heels for each of the heroes but it's actually the feisty heroines who captured my heart, quickly becoming my favorite component of the series. Each of the women is fearless, loyal, altruistic, devoted, smart, tenacious and beautiful, on the inside as well as on the outside. After all, they have to be all those things and more to be deemed worthy enough to become a Sentinel's radiant (true mate). So in closing I will simply say, if you're looking for a unique, imaginative fantasy romance filled to the brim with heart-pounding danger, spine-tingling drama, agonizing angst, malevolent enemies, evil machinations, heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance, steamy dreamy sex, dominant swoon-worthy heroes and the beautiful strong-willed heroines who love them, then this is most assuredly the series for you.

When determining my rating a book, I always ask myself several question. First, how did I feel about the book? Well, in this case, I quite obviously loved it. It's unique, well crafted, exceptionally well edited and held me completely enthralled, white knuckling my ereader from beginning to end with the pages flying as did the time. Second, was there anything about the story I didn't like? No, not a darn thing! Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some dreamy love scenes. Fourth, will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book. I can hardly wait for the release of the fourth book of this series which, more than likely, will probably be the last since there's only one hero remaining who hasn't found his radiant yet. And that's Kristoff Agares, the actual King of all the Sentinel Demons. Maybe Scott has saved the best for last....Sadly, I'll have to wait to find out! lol...I hate waiting but Scott always makes the wait worthwhile! And my fifth and final question, was I entertained? Oh lawd! That would be an emphatic YES...completely and totally entertained! As I stated earlier, each of the couples do find their happy ever after at the end of each book and none of the books ends in an actual cliffhanger, but I do NOT recommend reading these books as standalones. I do, however, highly recommend reading each book in the order of its release. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

I have a soft spot for angry heroes, maybe that's why this one has struck me as the best in the series so far.

Hunter is a tortured and angry hero all the damn time but he can't help it, he just has to kill the evil ones. The whole goddess pairing thing seemed strange to say the least but I got over it.

it's a short read, nothing deep, the world is going to shit, but the plot doesn't focus on it nor do we get a lot of bloody details.

Hunter is my favorite sentinels. I can relate to him more. I feel this pain and I understood his need and anger. I loved his journey with his mate. In this book had a few surprises that kept the story more addictive. I loved the characters chemistry and each story in this series just keeps getting better. I highly recommend this fantastic book

The will to kill evils

This book was to me the better of the three. It explained the need the Hunter had to kill. Also, how he was saved from this great need to kill, kill, kill evils.
