Angel's all set to enjoy a long and very well earned holiday when the worst happens. A family emergency calls her back home. There's an urgent and significant problem with the family business and Angel, to her chagrin, is the only one who can fix it.
The thing is though - Angel's family is unusual, to say the least and as for the problem at hand, that is going to require some unique skills and a lot of divine inspiration. Because the problem is that sixteen souls are missing from the Afterlife, and nobody knows how they were taken, where they are or what's happened to them. Even more importantly, nobody knows who is taking them.
Solving this celestial mystery will require subtlety, dedication and guile, so Angel hasn't a clue why The Divine has asked her to lead the investigation. Besides, she's got her hands full with her new job in the local coffee shop and a growing social life on Earth. The last thing she needs is to be dragged back to a toxic place which only serves to remind her of all her flaws and fears.
But when The Divine calls, who can refuse? Not Angel, who must wrestle her demons and learn to accept herself for who she truly is before she can catch the soul thief and deliver the taken souls to their Afterlives.
