Voyage of the Winter Wolf is a lovely conclusion to the Guardian of the Winter Stone series by Ariana Jade. This fifth and final installment sees Akira's transition, physically and emotionally, reach its climax. We also see the journey come full circle with a tie-in to the prequel.
This Ariana Jade series is one of my favorites from their catalog, and the ending is so satisfying. The additional free bonus epilogue is a nice peek into their future, as well. I love that Akira takes this healing path. I am happy with the character growth and story arcs for all of the main protagonists in Akira's party. I am absolutely in love with Ashleigh!
Also, there is fantastic world-building with the lore and the setting descriptions.
I am always pleased with the author's ability to write complete, fulfilling stories in novella form, and I will always recommend this author for their short, sweet, happily-ever-afters.

I LUV tales with which I can wax all philosophical-like...
‘Legends are usually based on truths’
But do we truly understand their lessons? How much of the truth remains after generations of retelling or when legends are incorporated into other cultures? How does one determine what is legend and what is rumor? Who has the authority to decide which truths to turn into legends? Just how true does a truth have to be in order to qualify as potential legend material?

Some sage advice from the author:
Sometimes, we have to leave our home of origin in order to find our true home.

No matter our journey, may we ‘always have the stars’ to guide and comfort us.

Sapphic Romantasy ✨️ with wolf shifters

Book 5 of Akira's journey on her Guardian quest. This picks up right after book 4 and Akira has a big choice to make this time. A quick one sitting read, books need to be read in order. I rather enjoyed this series wrap up.

Read the full review with representation information and trigger warnings on my blog.

Akira, her fated mate Ashleigh, her twin Aspen and their friend JP are following the prophecy of the Seer to finally find the Winter Stone. Akira must decide whether she will stay with Ashleigh after she completes her quest or return to the village that appointed her their Guardian.

When I finished book 4 of the Guardian of the Winter Stone series, Guilt of the Winter Wolf, I wasn’t sure how the author was going to tie everything together successfully in another novella, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was done. This novella is a bit longer than the other books in the series, but still easy to read and fast-paced.

I loved the scene where Akira shapeshifted into her wolf form for the first time, and the romance scenes intertwined with the plot nicely without overpowering it. It was interesting to see how Akira had been lied to by her village and her family, and I was sympathetic to the distress she had over it.

The final book of this series also introduces Mayu, the protagonist from the prequel book Heart and Soul of the Wolf, and her mate. It did a good job of tying together all of the different plotlines, and it was a heartwarming book about healing and found family. Readers who enjoy the fated mate and found family trope and enjoy reading about animal shifters will likely enjoy this book, and it’s refreshing for there to be a fated mates book that has non-heterosexual fated mate pairings.

I received a complimentary review copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.

Following the Seer’s pronouncement, Akira, Ashleigh, Aspen, and JP embark across the ocean in their quest for the Winter Stone, while the rest of the group stay behind until they can ask the Seer their own questions. Akira’s fear of water makes the journey arduous for her, but Ashleigh’s love and support keep her grounded. Akira makes some monumental decisions regarding both her quest and her relationship with Ashleigh. As they get closer to the stone, Akira senses something changing inside herself. The arrival at the village brings to light the truth behind her quest and some surprising connections to residents in town. Akira’s history of mistreatment and abandonment fuel her fear and anxiety in this new town. Will she find the home and acceptance she craves or will history repeat itself?

Ariana Jade wraps up her Guardian of the Winter Stone series with this book, giving Akira a journey that takes her from horrific abuse to healing and love with a devoted found family. As someone who escaped an abusive background, I definitely saw much of my own reactions in Akira. I’m still on my own healing journey and found hope and inspiration in how Akira’s was handled. The world building and character development throughout the series has been well done and the story has a fitting ending. I especially enjoyed the bonus epilogue set 10 years later that reinforced the happy ending.

As difficult as it can be for a reader (me) to say goodbye to a beloved character (Akira), it must be so much more so for the writer, who has literally lived with the characters for years. I’m truly sad to see the end of Akira and her pack in Voyage of The Winter Wolf by Ariana Jade (AKA Arizona Tape). This fifth and last book in the series continues with Akira’s growth and development. Given her horrendous childhood, it is not surprising it has taken all the books to witness her overcoming her past and accepting the present and future as the person she is. I won’t reveal the exact manner in which Akira’s realization takes place, but it is appropriate. The book does come full circle for not just Akira, but all the members of her pack. I did not see the ending coming, which is a tribute to the author’s skill. I read an advanced review copy of the book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Voyage of the Winter Wolf is the final installment in the Guardian of the Winter Stone series by Ariana Jade, and it definitely ends on a high note. I really loved Akira's character development throughout, but this is where she really comes into her own and accepts that she's worthy of love. I adored Ashleigh and the way she supported Akira, while giving her the space to find herself.

The rest of the characters got their own conclusions and nothing was left open, even if one in particular was bittersweet. I admit I'm actually a bit sad to see this series reach its conclusion, but I'm sure there are more fun stories on the horizon.

I received a free ARC from the author, but my review is unbiased and left voluntarily.

The wonderful conclusion to the guardian of the winter stone series.

It has been a truly marvelous adventure of Akira's journey to find the fabled winter stone. To find her fated mate along the way and people to call family when she never really had one in her home village. And for Akira and Ashleigh to find the happiness they deserve.

I had enjoyed the series very much from its inception. An f/f romantasy about wolf shifters and fated mates.

Thanks to the author for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3 stars. This was my mistake, I received the arc without looking at the fact that this is book FIVE in a series that follows the same characters. This was interesting enough that I definitely do want to go back to the beginning and read this series. I liked the characters and the world building was cool.

I love that Akira and Ashley get to live happily ever after, and that Akira gets to choose not to take the stone back to her old village. Her family was horrible to her, and she deserved so much better. And at least she has family elsewhere who also cares for her.

I loved the way the series ended for them all.

The journey in the Guardian of the Winter Stone series has totally been worth it for this ending. I love the connection of found family, fated mates, and finding yourself so that you can allow yourself to have a happy ending. Ariana Jade has done it again. Heat, romance, and good storytelling is what this series, and this book in particular, is all about.

A perfect end to the series. I like how Akira's character finally sees her full potential and is at peace. I also really appreciated that the prequel 'Heart and Soul of the Wolf' links back into this series, coming full circle.
