Tension scorches through this enemies-to-lovers romantasy, brimming with reluctant yearning, forced proximity, and two powerful males bound to the same female.

Her heart falters for both of them. He never meant to care for her. But will he help her save the prince she loves before time runs out?

Lucille is trapped in the icy depths of Hell. Time is slipping away—her mother’s life clings to Lucille’s waning energy, while Aspen is stranded far beyond her reach when she needs him most.
The only person who can help Lucille save Aspen is the cold, lethal general whose golden eyes make her pulse stutter, but how is she supposed to win his favor when he hates Aspen even more than he hates her?
Forced into General Ronen’s military, where pain and suffering are a way of life and survival demands blood, Lucille must train harder than ever if she hopes to convince the general to help her.
Heart-wrenching choices need to be made. And in the shadows, something darker spreads, infecting everything it bites.

Makayla grew up in a small town near Madison, Wisconsin, devouring fantasy romance series like Twilight, City of Bones, and Vampire Academy. She graduated from college with a degree in art and elementary education, which she enjoyed—but not as much as storytelling. When she isn’t writing, she’s likely reading, spending time with family and friends, wrangling her cats, or exploring new restaurants with her husband.

Her passion for storytelling began in high school with a creative writing class she took just for fun. In college, she attempted her first novel. Though she didn’t finish it then, she discovered how much she loved writing and knew she wanted to make her stories the best they could be. After years of learning and connecting with other authors, she published her debut novel, Wings of Lies.

Now, Makayla has finished her highly anticipated second book, Wings of Darkness, continuing her journey of bringing emotionally charged, romantic fantasy to readers who love powerful heroines, slow-burn romance, and dangerous worlds.

OMG this freaking book just left me with my jaw on the floor
This book is nothing but phenomenal. The author's writing completely immerses you into the story and the world. Rich worldbuilding, unique magic system, characters you love, and a plot that keeps you wanting more.

Picking up where the first book leaves off, we are immediately thrown into a world of danger and desire. Not only that but the author gives us new character and POV in this book that is absolutely delicious. I loved the training scenes and the push and pull between the characters. Not to mention this ending......M. S. Quinn I need the next one NOW!.....PLEASE!😂

🔥🔥🔥

Yet again… another enraging cliffhanger. 😑😤🤬

The second book picks up exactly where the last one left off, and this time we’re dragged into an entirely new realm: Hell. Lucille is coming into her powers, slowly building a relationship with her father, fighting to save her mother, and learning how to be a warrior to protect the people she loves. Ronen never expected to be bonded to Lucille, and he definitely doesn’t want to be. But the more time he spends around her, training her, the more his frozen, guarded heart starts to thaw. He’s not interested in being a slave to the bond, and watching him struggle with his feelings for Lucille adds a great layer of tension.

Lucille and Oliver find themselves drafted into an elite squad, which… let’s be honest, they were not prepared for at all. They're not exactly warrior-ready when they arrive, but watching them get put through the wringer was actually one of my favorite parts of this book. Lucille had her moments of weakness in the first book, but she really finds her footing here. Her stubborn streak is still there (because of course it is), but it’s no longer frustrating. It’s focused.

Oliver, who was the main side character in book one, gets more page time here, and I loved that. But honestly? Alexei and MJ stole the show. Alexei is the flirty menace whose favorite pastime seems to be riling up Ronen, and MJ brings this perfectly chaotic energy that balances out their trio. We don’t get as much MJ as I’d like, but when she does show up, she’s a blast. The side characters really elevate the story and add a ton of personality and depth.

As for the romance, it’s definitely there, but the plot takes center stage, which I appreciated. It never felt like it dragged, and while some parts were predictable, others genuinely surprised me. I was entertained the whole way through.

Now that ending??? GAH. I’m definitely developing some strong opinions about certain characters (loving some, absolutely side-eyeing others), but that cliffhanger? Just rude.

Spice level: 🌶🌶
No full-on scenes yet, but we do get some detailed, open-door 'building' moments. This is not a fade-to-black book. It’s a true slow burn (the author took the definition of slow burn very seriously), and the tension between Ronen and Lucille builds steadily in this one—not just between Lucille and Aspen.

I reread book one before diving into this, and it absolutely held up. This sequel is another solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me, and I already know I’ll be rereading it before book three drops.

That said... it would be really nice if I had the third book in my hands right now. 😂

I was so excited when I received this as an ARC words can’t explain how ready for this I was!!

We start off exactly where we were left at the end of book one and seamlessly transition into the new surroundings. We have a new PoV in this book and I must say the general? 😏🥵

✨✨✨✨✨✨

“He captured me—not just with the quiet longing in his gaze, but with the warmth of his words. I felt cherished, like I was the relief he’d been yearning for his entire life and finally found.”

While our girl Lucille is still unravelling everything she’s never known and everything she once forgot we see a new side of what’s missing and it brought a new and welcome dynamic I can’t wait to continue exploring.

Oliver continues to be an absolutely iconic best friend throughout this book and their sibling like dynamic is so beautiful.

✨✨✨✨✨✨

“I’ll be brave for you, if you’ll be brave for me” 😭

We also meet some new characters who I cannot wait to see more of! Alexei and ichi are great but I may have a girl crush on MJ 😍

If you like;
Bonds (plural 😏)
Prophecy
Found family
A sorta maybe love triangle (no really it’s not a choice)
Sloooooow Burn
Forced Proximity
Nicknames that go from teasing to endearing
Shaddow weilding broody males
She trains/he trains her
….
And cliffhangers that make you want to throw the book, then this one’s for you!!

I AM BLOWN TF AWAY 🤯🤯🤯

THIS BOOK… i am honestly still recovering 🙃💅🏽 this book had me in an absolute chokehold from the first chapter and once I started, I honestly just could not stop 😭😭😭 stayed up until 3 AM finishing this book 🙃✌🏽

I get so scared when it comes to second books because often times they’re just not as good as the first — BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE HERE!!! IT GOT BETTER- if even possible bc the first book was outstanding to start with?!?! 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

This book was so good, the plot takes off right where we left off and book one and we’re thrown into a New World with new characters— and this alone, made the book so interesting and exciting!!!!

we also get introduced to a new love interest here giving us a little bit of a love triangle situation but it’s done SO WELL!!!! we also get the SLOWEST BURN here like by the end of the book… WE’RE STILL BURNING!!!!!! 😮‍💨😩🤯

I honestly have nothing but love for this book and I will not rest until everybody has read this book so if you’re thinking about reading it, just honestly drop everything and read this series 🙌🏽

that’s all for now bookies 🥰

Wings of Darkness throws you right back into danger and desire, with new POVs and characters that are absolutely addictive. The banter and tension had me laughing one minute and swooning the next.

This book nails the enemies-to-lovers trope while weaving in all the best tropes: Forced Proximity, Fated Mates, Secrets and Lies, a fierce FMC, broody Shadow Daddy vibes, and a slow burn that keeps you hooked.

And that cliffhanger? Perfection. M.S. Quinn knows exactly how to leave readers begging for more.

Thanks to @M.S.Quinn for the gifted eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had the absolute honor of proofreading Wings of Darkness, and I adore both M.S. Quinn and her writing. She has this incredible ability to pull you in and completely immerse you in her world.

This second installment in the Daughter of the Seven Circles series is nothing short of phenomenal. Everything is leveled up—the stakes, the training, the humor, the heat. 🔥

I’m obsessed with this cast of characters—they’re the found family you never knew you needed. The magic system is rich and unique, the worldbuilding compelling, and the plot grows more layered in all the best ways.

It’s one of those series that somehow gets better with each book—and I cannot wait to see where book three takes us! 🖤✨

I have many feelings that I could never put into words- LOVE/ OBSESSION, Sadness/ love love love - Lucy(FMC) I love watching her grown and learn more about her own journey on top of all the character building and world building- I can’t wait to see character art 😍 I can’t wait for the next book! I’ll be rereading these two books till the 3rd, the cliffhanger in the first book is where this book started!! I have always loved m.s Quinn but I have fallen more in love with the writing style 🙏🙏🙏 thank you for the opportunity to become an ARC READER 💜💜

I am an arc reader for this book so I have had the wonderful opportunity to read it early and when I say it’s worth the wait it’s worth the wait.

In the story, you pick up right where you left off on the previous book you fall right into hell with Lucille/Lucy. You quickly realize that not everything is what it seems and the story just keeps you wanting more.

I want a snarky BFF like Oliver in real life. He brings so much to the story and is an amazing character to fall in love with. He makes you realize that everyone needs that kind of bestie. He truly becomes more than a friend in the end and is more like family to Lucille/Lucy.

Don’t even get me started with Ronen, talk about hate you -love you with this male. This male is so hot/cold I love it, he keeps me on my toes and I never knew what mood I was going to get when I read his POV. He’s as infuriating as he is lovable.

Oh Aspen… I have feelings…. That’s all I have to say….
Ps I still love you.

I truly cannot wait to read the next book! I loved every second of this book.

Absolutely loved it. The plot, the banter was just everything. It’s not everyday you come across an enemies to lovers trope that does it perfectly and that makes you actually root for them to get together. Yes the cliffhanger ending made me want to throw the book but damn it’s it wasn’t the most suspenseful books I’ve read to date.

I really enjoyed the turn this story took, the new characters and slow burn ;)… that being said I felt that this continuation fell a *little* flat compared to the first book. The training felt convenient for lack of a better word? I would’ve loved to see Lucy fight her way up!

We once again find Lucy in a precarious spot where she is weak, almost dead and having to make life changing decisions. With one decision being taken away from her, she is told she must start training in Hell's army because she will never survive without any training. Thankfully, she has her best friend Oliver to help her through the many battles that are yet to come.

What doesn't help is this attraction to the General of Hell's army and our newest shadow daddy and best Soulhound dad, Ronan, who would rather just let Lucy die than help her get stronger. Through the story these enemies become closer until we learn some bonds are the ones you choose and some are chosen by the gods.

Thank you to M.S Quinn for giving me an ARC <3
I was an ARC reader for her debut novel, Wing of Lies, and while I liked that one, I loved this one a lot more! We're thrown right into fucking hell (literally), where Lucille and Oliver are in some deep shit. Solution? Training with a hot man....because apparently Hell has buff shadow wielders. Yes. Take me to there please and thank you 💅🏻
And if you read the first book you may be wondering, oh but where did Aspen go? Is he okay? I hate love triangles and Aspen was just amazing and I love him and I NEED HIM!!!
No you don't. Trust me. Aspen is fine guys, yeah okay maybe he's in pain and is locked away....and yeah maybe he does some bad things and turned into a pissy little bitch, but he gets fed three times a day and has smexy time with Lucille through dream walking....don't worry about Aspen guys Aspen is fine. Ronen is where it's at. Ronen is the new boy on the block who's morally grey and OMG HAS A BOND TO LUCILLE?!?!?! Now tbh he doesn't want it. Like at all. He'd probably actually maybe rather die. But then he starts to spend more time around her and is actually like....wait I want. (omg wow who would have guessed???!?!?!?!) He also has wings.

yes.....i don't need to say anything else. The situation adds tension because he's filled with tension. I can't wait to see more of him in book 3 like AHHH I WANT MORE INFO RN PLZZZZ

I also want more info on Alexei and MJ (Ronen's best mates), because let's be so fr they truly put on a show. Alexei messes with Ronen and MJ is just like 😑🫠😃👍🏻 it's truly wonderful to watch. I can already sense a found family trope forming later on in the books. Especially once Oliver and Lucille get closer to Ronen. Speaking of Oliver, he was SO MUCH MORE FUN this book. LIKE HOLY FUCK GUYS I LOVE THIS MAN. KENJI VIBES FR. He says "fuck a duck" and jokes around with Lucille and UGH guys this man is Kenji in another body. I love their friendship so much and I just need the two of them to start forming strong bonds with Ronen, MJ and Alexei too. I think it would be so perfect and heartwarming. I can already see him getting along really well with Alexei (maybe it's just me but I did think there was some...flirty banter between them 👁️🫦👁️. Overall this book had me in a choke hold, especially in the last 30%. I was so invested I got several mosquito bites from sitting outside until dusk.

Trigger warnings:
Graphic Violence/Gore
Verbal Abuse
Child Abuse
Physical Abuse
Swearing
Explicit sexual situations
(this isn't part of the trigger warnings in the back of the book but Oliver does also throw up a lot because #running)

ARC Review

Another fantastic book in the series - I’m torn on if I even prefer it to Wings of Lies!

I already loved Lucy & Oliver from book one and I really enjoyed how their friendship developed and the continued sass and banter between them.

“If you get us killed, I’m forcing the king to place us in the same circle so I can annoy you while they torture us—for the rest of time”

“I’ll shut up.” “Music to my ears. Now let’s strap on some weapons and let the chaos commence.”

We are also introduced to some wonderful new characters in Alexei, MJ and the twins.

The character development of Ronen and Rune was also brilliant. I LOVE Rune SO much and really appreciate how much character she has for a non-verbal character. I liked how surly and grumpy Ronen is on the surface and that it took time for more of his character to come out. I was also very quickly team Ronen!

The direction the plot went was also exciting and kept me hooked. I struggled to put the book down and read it just over a day.

The guides to hell and the angel structure were also really useful at the beginning of the book.

I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series takes us!

“Our wounds shape who we are. They’re our dark stories that either haunt or empower us.”

Themes/Tropes:
High Fantasy, Romance, Mythology, Prophecy, Hero’s Journey, Sword & Sorcery, Tragic Backstory, Emotional Scars, Slow Burn, Love Triangle, Gods, Angels & Demons, Magic, Monsters/Fantastical Creatures, LGBTQIA+ Rep & Multi POV.

Wings of Darkness by M.S. Quinn is everything I want in a romantasy sequel—and more. As someone who devours YA fantasy with rich world-building, magic, and soul-tangled character dynamics, this book hit so many of my sweet spots.

Picking up right where Daughter of the Seven Circles left off, the second installment wastes no time throwing us back into the thick of danger, desire, and divine-level stakes. The tension is scorching from the first chapter, and the forced proximity/enemies-to-lovers dynamic? Absolutely delicious. There’s a push and pull between the characters that had me clinging to every page—especially with two powerful males bound to the same fierce, complex heroine. My heart was genuinely torn (in the best way).

Everything is heightened and taken to the extreme this read, the training scenes are top-tier (seriously, the magical development is chef’s kiss), and the cliffhangers? M.S. Quinn might just be trying to kill us, but what a way to go.

While I’m reserving that fifth star for a few pacing bumps in the middle, make no mistake: this series is on fire. Quinn's writing pulls you into a realm so vividly built, it feels like you’re living inside the story. If you love fantasy worlds that engulf you, characters that crack your heart open, and stories that leave you breathless—Wings of Darkness delivers it all.

Now excuse me while I scream into the void waiting for book three.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was beyond thrilled when I received Wings of Darkness as an ARC. Having loved Wings of Lies, I knew I was in for an emotional, high-stakes, and beautifully written ride and this sequel absolutely delivered that.

We pick up from where book one left off, immediately immersing us in new surroundings and a fresh layer of intrigue.
This time, we’re also treated to an additional POV of a certain dark, broody, shadow-wielding general Ronen 🔪

“Hellion. Because that’s what you are. A problem, an annoyance, an irritating menace."

Lucille continues to unravel the truths of her past and the mysteries she never knew existed, and through her journey, we see new dimensions of what’s been missing. This shift brought such a rich and welcome dynamic to the story—I can’t wait to see where it leads in the next instalment.

Oliver remains the ultimate best friend, his sibling-like bond with Lucille was the next best thing in that book.

“I’ll be brave for you if you’ll be brave for me.”

I love found family trope. And I could definitely see that here.

Alexei and Ichi made excellent additions to the cast. The banter was sharp and hilarious at some points.

That ENDING .. was just perfect 😭
How does one end the book on a line like that?!?!
I need Book 3 NOW.

If you love an fmc that never gives up on the ones she loves, a mmc that wields shadows and will do anything to protect her .... you definitely need to read Daughter of the Seven Circles 👑 I absolutely loved it!

Thank you BookSirens for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Overall, I'm giving this book 3 stars because while it had a lot of potential in terms of plot, I felt like I had to force myself to read this book.

Wings of Darkness was surprisingly tough for me to get through and I think it boiled down to writing style. The dialogue does a LOT of the heavy lifting in this book as alot of the vital information is shared through dialogue AND there is natural conversion between the characters to establish personality and relations. To add to it, the conversations seemed to drag because they were very repetitive and used the same line or quip over and over again (even when Lucille is interacting with 2 different people, it resulted in a lot of confusion and déjà vu).

I also think the book seemed to read younger than what it is (content-wise). Lucille's inner dialogue seemed a little juvenile and the overall text seemed to do a lot of telling rather than showing (I felt like things were being explained to me and like my hand was being held a little) and some things would come out of nowhere.

THIS BOOOOOOKKKK!!!!! AHHHH!!!
Seriously 😭 I had the honor of being and ARC reader for M.S. Quinn’s first novel and thoroughly enjoyed Wings of Lies, so I had to jump on the opportunity to read her second one, and LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS AMAZING!
Genuinely loved the whole book, and I was so sad to have finished it because I NEED the third one ASAP!

Her characters, especially Ronen (okay hello there handsome dark broody angel), really made this story come to life.
I feel like all of their developmental arcs were amazing, meaning they grew so much throughout the novel! I felt connected to them, and laughed when they had their snarky conversations and also died a little inside with all the “will they, won’t they, let’s just tell the truth already about our feelings!”

When I say I read this book quickly, I even stayed up late to read (and that’s hard for me to do with a baby who never sleeps haha).

Aside from the awesome characters, the storyline was super intriguing, and I genuinely couldn’t guess what happened next!

If you guys are a fan of enemies to lovers, training scenes, and genuine tension and slow burn, you’ll love this book!!

This was such an amazing book 2 in this series. I loved book one, but absolutely adored this one.

The plot in this book felt very good and the premises were strong. I did feel like some parts were perhaps a little unnecessary or felt like they could have been slightly edited, but besides that I absolutely loved the plot.

I felt like we learned a lot more about our main character and some of the characters we are familiar with from book 1. In addition I loved the new characters and their vibe. I felt like the character MJ was perhaps slightly flat, but it might just be due to her being in a smaller role... I would have loved to see a bit more from Ronan' s perspective and especially about how he feels about changes while the story goes on.

the writing is easy to follow and understand and the duology was fluent.

im quite excited about continuing this series once book 3 comes out seeing as where this book ended 🤭

Thank you to the amazing author for an arc! All thoughts are my own.

This was a good and similar follow up to Wings of Lies. We keep with the main character and add some additional characters into the fold, expanding the story and this is done smoothly and well.

The plot however felt like it got stuck for a while in the castle and training areas with small progression. This could have been trimmed back or sped up.

The plot was pretty predictable but that’s not necessarily bad. However the developments that the main character doesn’t know about were largely a side story and in the end were pretty irrelevant to the storyline.

Overall it took me a while to get through this book and some trimming of repeated dialogue or parts that don’t really add to the storyline was perhaps needed.

The final few chapters sure packed a punch and probably pulled this book up to a 3 star.

Wings of Darkness by M.S. Quinn has everything that screams Romantasy. This is one of my goto genres and I love reading this. This book has loads of banter, slow burn, mind tricks, soul-tingling yearning, I could keep going on.....

This is book 2 and picked up right where it left off. OMG! Lucy has grown so much and it is very evident and the way she through her fear is awesome! There is danger, action, forced proximity, fated mates, brutal military training, heated glares and love beyond definition. The magical training and starting from basics just for her is just wow.... I literally screamed, the cliffhanger just killed me!
Dare i say, book 2 is my fave so far. I can already feel like book 3 will knock everything out of the park.

There were bumpy rides in the middle which could have been better. Thats why I had to hold on the fifth star. But, this series is just amazing and definitely everyone should pick this right now! Thank You for the ARC M.S. Quinn!

Spice: 🌶️

I forgot everything from book one and this one ends in another cliffhanger (🤯😳😱😭🫣😲🤬🥰). This book starts where book one ends.

I again had trouble keeping this book in my hands, as I was a bit bored with the first 20%. I was a little annoyed with Lucille’s brattiness and Oliver just wouldn’t stop talking. Big issue with Aspen (don’t want to spoil) but I disliked him in this book. Ronan…*fans herself* a shadow daddy, grumpy and doesn’t take Lucy’s BS: Love it!!🥰

The last few chapters felt a bit rushed, but oof! That last paragraph…I want more!! I hope it won’t be another year between books, as couldn’t remember who was who and what happened in the first book. Throughout the book, some things were mentioned that made me remember, but it felt like reading a book with new characters.

I had never heard of this series before and I whole heartedly believe this is a hidden gem. This book/series definitely isn't talked about enough.

This series is definitely for ACOTAR and Blood and Ash Series lovers.

-Shadow daddy
-Forced proximity
-Gay best friend
-Bonded mates

I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time and was never bored, couldn't keep my nose out of it. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it and need the third book immediately. This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster so have tissues ready and some popcorn because you won't want to stop reading. I fell in love with the first MMC just as equally as the second MMC. The characters themselves each hold a piece of my heart. I love how Oliver is the gay best friend and is there for Lucy no matter what and I'm pretty sure he's my spirit animal. Ronen is exactly what Lucy needs. He challenges her and lets her dive deep into the water to sink so she learns but he's always one step ahead. He never lets her reach the bottom.

The plot was written so smoothly and the character arcs/development was out of this world. Nothing was missing, nothing was out of place. The tension and the yearning between the characters was to die for. Everything about this book had me curling my toes, giggling and kicking my feet. I will never stop recommending this series.

This story is a captivating exploration of courage, sacrifice, and the enduring power of love in the face of unimaginable adversity. I really enjoyed the storytelling as it transports readers to a world shrouded in mystery and danger, where a fate hangs in the balance.

The characters are richly drawn and deeply human, each grappling with their own flaws and insecurities as they confront seemingly insurmountable challenges. Lucy's journey is particularly amazing where she must confront their inner demons and make difficult choices.

The author seamlessly blends elements of fantasy, romance, and suspense, creating a narrative that is as thrilling as it is emotionally resonant…masterful storytelling and profound insights make this book a must-read for anyone who believes in the power of love and the triumph of good over evil.

That was a fun read, I read both books in 4 days. I'd rate it 3.5 as I have read a story just like this one multiple times over in other different books. I do not know if I need to change the genre I read but although HIGHLY ENJOYABLE AND GOOD FUN this story was just another retelling of a scrawny girl with hidden powers meeting her bonded male (hate the word) with tormented past who is dark, lethal and wait for it... wields shadows.
Did I still gobble it up? Absolutely! It's just it's not original, you know exactly where it's going. Trust me: you have read that story before.
I did like the banter, the world, Lucifer as a good (?) father figure. On the other hand the excessive repetition of "male" and "female" gave me the ick. Also: elite squad training from zero to hero to impress the grumpy squad leader or general? Hmmm... where have I read that before?
Again: it was a fun read but that's all it was. I will forget all about it before the sequel comes out.

I’ve never wanted a book to not be over more.

OMG!!!!! This was so good. Our girl is back and now she’s in Hell. But honestly it ain’t so bad hahaha especially with the eye candy grumpy general and his flirty second in command. Secrets are starting to unravel and plans are being made. This was such an epic adventure.

I need the next book like I need oxygen. Y’all need to read these so we can dissect everything ASAP!!!

Right back where we left off in Wings of Lies, this second book did not disappoint! A dark romantasy with the most intense slow burn enemies to lovers, and I devoured every bit of it. Lucille continues to grow, she’s a perfect specimen for the FMC of this series. Ronan, phew, shadow daddy! Aspen, not my favorite this book, but that may change in the next book. The plot was amazing with strong character building, including the supporting cast. There’s drama but also humor to balance things out. Quinn sure knows how to torture a soul with these cliffhangers! Cannot wait till the hardcover for this comes out so I can add it to the first book.

I have never left a review before and I've read a loooot of books, especially romantasy/fantasy being my favorite genre. But I had to leave a review o. Wings of Darkness. After speeding through Wings of Lies and then Wings of Darkness I NEED the next book(s). The story is unique and grabs at you.

it is definitely a slow burn (which usually turns me off a little, I like spicy spicy) but honestly it did not hinder my read in the story so far at all. When I said I need the next books I really meant it. I cant wait to find out what happens next with Lucille and Ronen now that the truth bombs have been dropped.

M. S. Quinn has become one of my favorite new authors and I can't wait to read the stories she creates!

I really enjoyed this book over book 1. Though book 1 was confusing the entire way through, I was still intrigued by the story and thankfully had book 2 ready to immediately start. Book 2 was much better IMO. The FMC annoyed me a bit but as she became stronger, she grew on me. I loved the character development between Oliver and Lucille, Aspen stay pissing me off, and Ronen can do no wrong in my eyes. I love a shadow daddy. Rune? best character of all. I will riot if something happens to her. The length of time this book took me to finish was my own hectic schedule, I would have eaten this book up in like 2 days normally. Ready for Book 3!

The cliffhanger is absolutely brutal 😭

I’m obsessed with the brooding MMC Ronen (because duh 😍) and I love the side characters Alexei and MJ — they bring the perfect balance and make everything feel a little lighter.

The spice level is very minimal and it’s the slowest burn 🔥 Maybe 🤔 it’s because our FMC is new to this thing called love… or maybe she’s just clueless 🤪

And this line? “I’ll be brave for you if you’ll be brave for me.” 🥹 Ugh. My heart.

If you thought Wings of Lies ended with a punch, Wings of Darkness will have you yelling at your Kindle and begging for the next book. Counting down the days until the next one drops ⏳💀✨

This book is good however I highly recommend you read book 1 first. I did not and was really lost. The characters are very complex as is the story and I feel like book 1 would have helped me understand book 2 better. When I signed up it said book 1 was not required so I didn’t go back and read it. Now I wish I had. I believe the background would have helped me.

The cliffhanger at the end has me anxious to see what happens next!
