MC romance done right. This one had me hooked from start to finish—no slow parts, no skimming, just “one more chapter” until suddenly it’s 2am. Reaper and Eva? Pure chaos, but the kind you can’t look away from. They’re messy, intense, and somehow perfect for each other in all the best (and worst) ways. Every moment hit, every twist landed—I loved all of it.

I simply couldn’t put this book down! There are very few biker related books that I like. They can easily become cringy or overly cliche. But this book had the perfect balance!
Loved the FMC! We love an independent, strong, bad ass woman! Similarly loved the MMC who although looks scary and mean is actually just a thoughtful and protective teddy bear for the people he loves.
Loved the romance, the suspense, and everything in between!

UPDATE: This one is now out on audio, and I have listened to it twice! It is dual narration by Ryan Pierson and Crystal Crist! I loved hearing some of my favorite characters brought to life and it made me love the story even more being able to listen after reading.
If you're looking for a fast-paced action-packed MC romance with a morally grey MMC and a strong FMC, then this book is for you! This is the first book in the series, and I can't wait for the next one.
Reaper & The Lioness follows the story of an outlaw motorcycle club VP (Reaper) and the PR consultant (Eva) that he was not happy that the club hired. I always love a good MC story, and it's even better that has a strong, baddie, FMC.
Eva is an absolute baddie, both in the corporate world and outside of it. Her backstory is surprising and a bit heartbreaking and not what I had expected but definitely makes her into who she is. Reaper is a former marine, morally grey, a fierce protector, and a force to be reckoned with. The connection between the two of them is instant, but it is written so well and makes the relationship between the two of them seem so authentic.
The story moves fast, but it doesn't seem rushed. There's great banter, moments of danger, some good suspense, and some great chemistry with the perfect amount of spice.
I highly recommend you add this one to your reading list!

I always love a good MC romance. I don't know what it is with those men🥵🥵🤭 The book was the first book in a interconnected series. This one was about Eva and Reaper. Reaper the grumpy VP of the Mavericks. And Eva a badass FMC who moves to Houston to start over. She becomes the PR girl for the MC to have there image changed.
The story was fast paced and I liked the writing style of the auhtor. There was a good mix between action, romance and some spice. Highly recommend if you are into MC romances!

couldn’t put the book down!
I absolutely loved this book. The fierceness of the heroine alone had me but then add to it this grumpy , rough, manly biker with a soft side towards her! The plot twist! Literally read in one day. Can’t wait for book 2

But when danger from Eva’s past catches up to her, the two are forced together, uncovering secrets, facing old enemies, and discovering there’s far more to each other than first impressions suggested.
One of my favorite parts of this book was the humor. I genuinely caught myself laughing out loud multiple times. The banter between Eva and Reaper was fantastic, and their chemistry felt effortless. Their relationship developed at just the right pace it never felt rushed, but it also never dragged. I stayed invested from beginning to end.
And can we talk about Eva? She was such a refreshing FMC. She isn’t just the polished PR professional everyone assumes she is. She’s smart, capable, and more than capable of handling herself. I loved that she didn’t need someone constantly rescuing her. Watching everyone underestimate her was incredibly satisfying.
The suspense kept me hooked the entire time. Between the revenge plot, criminal intrigue, mystery, and the club dynamics, there was always something happening to keep the pages turning. It had exactly the gritty atmosphere I look for when I pick up an MC romance.
The audiobook was also incredibly well done. Ryan Pierson and Crystal Crist both gave fantastic performances, bringing these characters to life and making the chemistry feel even stronger. Their delivery elevated the emotional moments as well as the humor, making this an audiobook I’d absolutely recommend.

For months I was searching for a Motorcycle Club romance. I kept downloading, DNFing and nothing really satisfied my itch. Then I randomly met Rachel online and was sent an ARC. It was everything I didn't know I needed.
Eva is a kick ass heroine. No wishy-washy, I don't know what I'm doing lead. She has a plan. She knows what she wants and for the most part she gets it. Reaper is a man who's morally grey but with a heart of gold. Once he realizes what kind of woman Eva is, he will move heaven and earth to protect her. Their romance is believable, their hesitance plausible. When they do finally get together it's magic!
What really struck me that I really didn't expect was Eva's story to hit so close to home. As someone who's dealt with not feeling physically safe because the system has failed, this was exactly what I didn't know I need. Having a female character who was so strong and people who were willing to protect her come what may was what made me fall for this book. Eva's storyline is so strong and she's such her own character that the romance was just the cherry on top.
If you're looking for a motorcycle club romance that will have you thinking about it even a week after you read it (in a good way!) and want to support a new indie romance author, I highly suggest this as your next book.

This was a great mix of suspense, thrill, and tension (sexual of course). The story had me wanting more after each chapter, bouncing between Eva and Reaper made it very easy to keep reading.
Two things that really stand out for me: 1) life is unexpected. Things happen in mysterious ways - so just let life take its course… maybe I read between the lines a bit too much, but I was able to connect my own experiences with these characters. 2) From my own traumas, this line in the book stood out to me the most, and it really hit me as the biggest truth bomb I’ve ever read, "Because the true monsters are usually the ones you least expect. They hide behind smiles, handshakes, and bibles, not leather and patches."
I really look forward to the next 3 books in this serious. Rachel did a great job!

This book is fantastic.
It’s got so many hints of romance, suspense, danger, darkness, revenge. I love a good outlaw motorcycle club!!
The FMC is an absolute force to be reckoned with, and the MMC is such a dangerous man, but a complete golden retriever for her.
The plot was absolutely perfect in this too. It always kept you on your toes where you needed to keep reading wondering what’s happening next.
I love how after most books kind of finish after the suspense, this one kept going and really gave you such good closure for the couple.
As someone who personally has a rescue German shepherd/malinois mix, Hawk really is just to flipping cute to handle!!

I loved this book! This was a new to me author I found when looking for MC romance books. I am really glad I found her!
You know there is always great found family in an MC romance, and this book has that. It also has an FMC that can hold her own, and an MMC that will watch as she does her thing. But also be right beside her incase she needs a little assistance. She is a badass but also knows how to be a team with Reaper.
I loved this book and will definitely continue with the series.

This was my first MC romance, and my first read of Rachel Esterline, and it did NOT disappoint! The forbidden feeling of a big shot badass lawyer FMC, falling fast and hard for a morally grey MC VP was felt throughout the entire story. It was such a quick read that I devoured it in 24 hours! I got the opportunity to listen to it, read by Ryan Pierson and Crystal Crist. They did a good job in bringing the characters to life.

Eva was an independent, stubborn, feisty woman who was not to take matters into her own hands when she felt needed. She did not trust or depend on anyone especially since a rough childhood
Reaper a former Marine and now a VP who didn’t care about anything but the club and what needed handled. He was protective over what was his also did not trust anyone since a rough childhood.
Eva and Reaper learning what trust is and some family is not blood but created. Eva’s strong feisty self knew how to work her way into a tough heart

Let me start by saying I was blessed enough to receive an ARC copy of the book.
I have read a lot of books like this, but the FMC has always been whiny or too indecisive for me. Eva’s character shocked me with how witty, charismatic, strong, and intelligent she is. She doesn’t back down from a challenge and she is able to hold her own. She is also not afraid to protect herself under any circumstances. She’s the strongest FMC in a romance novel I have read.
The chemistry she had with the MMC right off the bat was impressive. I didn’t have to read half the book before the chemistry got going between them. They were flirty and sensual. It was the most realistic way of spice and chemistry.
In comes Reaper. He’s morally gray, very much an Alpha, knows his place. He’s very protective but not in a possessive sort of way, but in your every day I need to keep her safe way.
They are forced into living together temporarily when something happens, where they banter and that’s when the starts spice kicks in. It was a great balance of spice with the story line.
The whole plot and storyline was absolutely well written and well thought out. In my opinion as far as spice, it’s maybe 1 or 2 chile peppers of spice. But the chemistry and romance of the plot and storyline was beautifully written. I loved this book and plan to read it again eventually.

The whole plot and storyline was absolutely well written and well thought out. In my opinion as far as spice, it’s maybe 1 or 2 chile peppers of spice. But the chemistry and romance of the plot and storyline was beautifully written. I loved this book and plan to read it again eventually.

Not my usual genre but it was a fun, fast-paced read! I was immediately drawn in by the plot and loved the fact that the main character/heroine is a PR pro. I felt like I was immersed into HBO’s Task but with a PR hero and a motorcycle club that does more good than bad. I would have loved to read more about Eva’s backstory and even get deeper into the drama of Eva’s life and the challenges the Mavericks face. Overall a great read if you’re looking for something edgy and fast like a motorcycle, opposite of a slow burn!

Wow! What a book! I loved it so much, I legit couldn't put it down.
Eva has escaped a nasty man, who is protected by Daddy's money, moves closer to her friend, who happends to be married to the president of a bike crew, who happens to need a PR to help show they are more than a bike gang.
Reaper, the Vice president has been asked to keep and eye on Eva, which he agres to reluctantly.
We go on a journey in this book.
I cant wait wait for book two.

Read this one after reading book 2 because I just had to know Eva and Reapers story, and I was not disappointed at all. Loved the story from the first word to the last. Absolutely in love with this series and cannot wait to read more.

Holy mackerel!! This book was everything I had hoped it would be and more! It has suspense, spice, morally gray men, strong FMC, humor, and a rescue pup!! It had me laughing, crying, and sitting on the edge of my seat. I seriously CANNOT wait to start book two of the Lone Star Maverick's MC. Now, I need me a Reaper...whew!

Amazing. Just amazing. Would’ve read it in one sitting if it wasn’t for responsibilities. Eva is the strong heroine I needed her to be and I love that Reaper considers that where possible. And that they communicate.

I love a good MC book. My husband is in a motorcycle ministry, and I grew up around MC guys, so I am partial. This one was good. Not like super great, but a good read. I think I read it in basically a day.
Summary: Reaper is the VP, and Eva is a PR consultant who is starting her life over in this small Texas town. Her good friend, Rhetta, is her connection to the town and eventually the MC. The MC needs an image overhaul because a resident is on a social media warpath with them. Eva is brought in to help turn that court of public opinion around. Reaper isn't a fan, at first, but comes around to her. She moved there after an attack on her life. She is working to expose said attacker, who happens to be a powerful man. Go figure.
The relationship with the two MCs does sort of go from 5mph to 60 sort of quickly w/o much emotional or friendship building, but if you've ever read any of Emma Slate's MC books and liked them-you'll be okay with it.
MMCs: Reaper is such a good dude. Not a good dude, necessarily, because he is morally grey. But if you like MC books, then you aren't put off by him. He has a pretty good moral code for some things. He is 100% a protector, and I loved that about him. He is attracted to Eva, but not her biggest fan at first.
Eva is BADA$$. Her background had me pumping my fist because she has been THRU IT, can handle herself, but she isn't so independent that she won't accept help. Plus, she trusts that Reaper and his crew know best and works WITH them instead of against them when it comes to her safety.
There is a little bit of suspense, which was good. Hawk, her foster puppy, is SO CUTE. I wanted to see him in real life. There is a HEA, no third act breakup.
The book does set up the next one. I do not think, based on the synopsis and other reviews, that I will be reading that. It looks like there will be a love triangle with her bff, Kenna, who moves there also, and two of the guys in the club. Based on reviews, I know which one she picks, so the third book will be about the other guy. I am not ever interested in love triangles or why choose books, so I will skip that one.
Definitely recommend, the book was an easy read. There are references to attack, murder, etc.

This was my first time reading something by Rachel Esterline - and I consider myself lucky to have received an ARC copy of this book.
Eva, our FMC, has just moved to Texas to start over after a traumatic event at her last job. A friend of hers introduces her to the Mavericks - a motorcycle club filled with guys who help support their community, but also have some less than legal side things going on as well - and her job is to help turn around the image that they have in their town thanks to a vindictive woman trying to boycott the businesses that the club supports. Eva is a strong, independent woman who is bound and determined to prove herself in every way possible.
Enter Reaper.
Reaper is used to being in charge, having women act a certain way around him, and just overall he's used to a certain reaction to what he says or does. So when Eva doesn't do what he thinks she will, basically ever, he's baffled and quickly enraptured by her. Well, he says he's frustrated and annoyed, but we know the truth.
There are multiple conflicts going on in this book, but I feel like the author gave each one it's proper pacing and wrapped things up nicely by the end of the book. Overall, a very fun and spicy read for me!
