I received this beautiful book as an ARC and I’m so grateful 🥹 It has been an absolute joy to read! It’s really cemented some of my personal growth work I have been doing around self love, shadow work and transforming my (harsh) inner self critic! I thought it was a well rounded and well researched piece of writing on self love practises. More than that though… it was on how “magic” and life changing these practises can be if you let them become part of your daily routine!

I enjoyed this book immensely and while it is technically a self help book. I did in fact find it so uplifting and informative! I thought that perhaps it could be used more as a trusty “life guide” for many. A good way to check in with yourself mentally.

I know I will definitely be rereading parts and trying out some of the mirror work she recommended. It made me cry (in a good way!) and I’m so much better for it!

Thank you for this gem of a book Iris xx 💋🪞 🕯️#selfloveclub❣️

What an Extraordinary Book!

Iris Beaglehole has joined the ranks of some of my favourite authors with this book. Just as Rick Hanson has connected modern neuroscience with Buddhism, and Micheal Lennox connects psychology with horoscopes, this book comes from the intersection of magic, neuroscience, and psychology. It is a potent mixture too! Ms Beaglehole brings a base of research and understanding of the processes discussed as well as personal stories and suggestions to bring these ideas to bear on the work you are doing. She gives an amazing introduction to many areas of therapeutic growth and how to hold them and work with them within the frame of magic.. The connections she makes within this frame are empowering and yet graceful. Her chapters on Shadow work and Golden Shadows are fabulous. I felt that this book came out of a genuine place of loving kindness and well being, and invited me to up my game. I read this book to help me as a caregiver to someone with a traumatic childhood as he moves into dementia, and it has given me tools and approaches in that work, but it has also enriched my own life and growth. I will be giving copies of this book as gifts!

I received an ARC for a review. This was a wonderful book with great themes in in each chapter. Iris models the gentle encouraging voice we need to use when speaking to ourselves. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on relationships. Reading about relationships really helped me puzzle out some issues and see things in a different light. This book has helped me think of shadow work I need to do. I loved all the practical applications and small ways to start, such as affirmation notes, movement breaks, phone breaks, and mirror work. I will keep this book with me always to return to and as a reference. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Iris! I also adore the cover! Pink and rose are my favorite. I may need to get a print book after all, even though I have the ebook. Thank you for the ARC and your positive wishes for a world of self love. We need it.

The Power Of Fairy Stories Combined With Self-Love

This book reminds us how powerful fairy stories are. Each contains powerful messages that communicate increasingly deep messages to us when we are ready to receive them. We are taught to love and accept ourselves one step at a time.

This was a delightful light read and had practical applications to everyday self-love practices. I enjoyed the reference to other author's and their philosophies and findings in the self-love quest - weaved in well for a light easy and enjoyable read.

I resisted this book. The title alone scared me. It kept showing up in my suggestions. I finally relented, read it, loved it!! Read it, dear one, read it!!

I liked it. It just really needed a proofreader. There were a lot of errors.
