An action-packed urban fantasy series from International Bestselling author Auburn Tempest and Ruby Night!
They came for my twin and left me behind because women hold no power in the magi world. They're about to find out how wrong they are...
Jesse Storme. Bartender. Rock-climber. And the girl left behind.
One minute, Wyatt and I are scaling our favorite rock peak and enjoying a moment of escape from our crappy lives. The next, we're attacked and my brother is gone.
I think it's connected to the creepy recruiter dude from Exemplar Hall. In truth, it's so much worse.
Sucked into a Hunger Games meets Harry Potter event to rescue him from the all-boys academy, I don't know who I can trust. I'm a girl posing as a guy. I'm not supposed to be here. And I'm definitely not supposed to have the power I do.
Doesn't matter. I would suffer any pain to find and save Wyatt. Because we're more than twins—We're Gemini Twins.

The Gemini Twins Legacy is a fast-paced, urban fantasy retelling of the Exemplar Hall Series written under Tempest’s romance pen name, JL Madore. This version has been rewritten for fans who prefer to focus on the action and not have spice or romance on the page.
About Auburn Tempest Auburn Tempest is a pen name for JL Madore, a multi-genre novelist giving life to Fantasy, Paranormal, and Sci-Fi Romance. Under the pen name, Auburn Tempest, she writes Urban Fantasy without the sexy-steamy. But whether Romance or not, she loves to twist Alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines into chaotic, hilarious, fast-paced, magical situations and make them really work for their happy endings.
She lives outside of Toronto, Canada with her love of over 35 years and a menagerie of family, friends, and animals.
This is definitely a YA book. The fmc, Jesse and her twin brother Wyatt are 18. They are suddenly thrown in the world of Magick ("with a -k"). With that they are placed in the Academy that is a match between Hogwarts and Lord of the Flies. Of course Jesse gets powers beyond anything seen before while also being the one woman to ever be in the Academy. There is a power struggle between the Old ways and Magi-tech that is basically Good vs Evil. Tech is causing all sorts of issues with the flow of Magick and things are getting sick. The twins are forced together in an unexpected way in the end of the book. The heavy obsessing by Jesse with Maverick was a bit frustrating. I'm guessing she'll be his "mate" by the end of this - it's being hinted at. Plenty of different plots run through this to keep the story moving. Overall it's interesting and as creative as a magickal Academy can be now days. I may go for book 2 when interested in a more YA storyline.
I don't do well during the holidays, and this year it took away my joy in reading. I was just flipping through titles without finding anything of interest. I couldn't concentrate. My depression wouldn't let me go. But when I found this book it kind of broke a small hole through the fog. It looked interesting. So I read a few pages. The next day, I read a little more. And before I knew it I was reading all day.
I love the energy in this book (no pun intended). It had enough action to keep me interested. Twins have always fascinated me. What is it like to share the first nine months of your life, crammed together in the same small space? Even as fraternal twins, are we really alike? These twins are almost identical in looks, even though one is male and one is female. They stick together. And then she ends up, dressed like her twin, in an all boys magik school. It makes for a really good story. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Well, it kinda sucks but if you take out the sludge...
The author tried to make a tough girl convincingly slummy and succeeds in making the whole book nasty. You can make an edgy character without spewing the f-bomb every other sentence and filling your pages with innuendo. The story line was interesting but maybe the author is too insecure to clean up the book of all the literal crap to allow a good storyline to remain unsullied by the junk that doesn't need to be there. Those who swear don't have the vocabulary to express themselves in any other way.
Twin children born under the sign Gemini lost their father at seven, after he was gone their mother became abusive and neglectful. At fifteen the magi found them and only wanted the boy, since they are a boy girl twin set and there were no girl magi known to have ever been born. The magik school would not take no for an answer. Now the twins have to figure out how to survive this new to them world. This story is full of surprises and twists including a girl pretending to be a boy to infiltrate the test to get into the school of Magik. Good Read.
Jesse's day starts out bad and just gets worse. Her brother gets kidnapped, she gets knocked off a cliff, and then meets her dad who ran out on them years ago. Then she and her brother get sucked into a whole new magical world they did not even know existed. I loved learning about the magical world with the twins and really enjoy all the characters and the storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the next ones in the trilogy.
This was an amazing read. I was skeptical at first but figured, why not, and I'm glad I listened. I had a blast reading Storme Born. Jesse and Wyatt are kick arse twins. The storyline, the plots, the relationships, and everything in between made this a great book. The only bad part...now I have to wait for the next release in the series.
Best book I've read in Awhile! Unique, Funny, Intrigue, Great Storyline
I Live this book. So different, mesmerizing, can't put it down good. Great characters with all kinds of challenges. Potential love interests, friendships to mark the pass of time. Fantasy at its best. Highly recommend!
Second time reading this. Still as good as the first time. I didn't read the rest of the series but I'm doing that now. Great writing and storyline. Enjoyed reading this and couldn't put it down other than to do necessary things, ie eat, bathroom breaks or someone needing assistance.
A lesson in how greed can destroy what was once instruments of good and protections can be turned. Only power strong enough to conquer the evil at moments is the good within and then multiple it with others of like mindset to remove the destruction. Riveting story.
Loved this book, such an amazing take on this type of story. Loved how Jesse is a kick butt character, but is still a caring and compassionate person. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
I love how we fall into the story at the very start. The twist and turn of who is good and bad and sometimes not either. I can't wait to read more. And nope not giving away the story! Go read it!!
Plenty of action and clean reading. I'm 64 and I prefer to not have the sexy stuff. Oh well call he a prude but you don't that to have a great book! Mystery is mixed in this read. Enjoy!!!
Best magic storyline since Harry Potter. Funny and captivating story and keeps you reading later than expected! Loved it and recommend it as a 5 star read
