Love love love but not as much as the 1st and 2nd installments. Still, I don’t think Mita Ori is capable of writing a bad book. She just knows how to pull at your heartstrings…as always, I am so joyous to be alive and reading at a time when Mita Ori is alive and writing!

A nice simple story about two people who love each other and are trying their best in life. Its heartwarming to watch the two navigate normal life happenings while making sure to put each other first.

I was expecting this volume to address more of Yutaka's strained relationship with his family, but I suppose it's more realistic that it didn't. In real life, people don't always get the warm and fuzzy reunions and apologies and discoveries that their families really do love them. Sometimes, like in Yutaka's case, they...just don't.

He did open his brother's letter eventually. And it essentially contained nothing. It was bland, devoid of any personal touches or an indication that his brother thought of him as family at all. Which Yutaka had kind of expected and would have ordinarily never touched because what would be the point of confirming how his brother actually felt about him.

He doesn't tell Minoru about it for a while, either, because there's not much to report. But he brings it up when Minoru starts feeling insecure about their relationship - whether he's Yutaka's first choice, or just the guy who got there first.

After all, Minoru was the one to confess, and it initially startled Yutaka, and maybe he just started dating him because he's so nice that he went along with it, and now he obviously cares about Minoru but if Yutaka's college friend Kanzaki had asked him out years ago they might be dating now instead...

Minoru's anxieties come really close to ruining the special birthday trip Yutaka had put so much effort into surprising him with, but they talk it out, as they needed to. Yutaka gets irritated at first - they've been dating for a year and he's not a pushover, why would Minoru even question his feelings like that - but calms down enough to explain what it is that he loves about Minoru and why he has no intention of choosing anyone else.

In essence, the two of them just need each other in very specific and very fulfilling ways. Yutaka never would've opened his brother's letter without Minoru's steady support and love. And because he has Minoru, the letter didn't hurt him that much once he did read it.

The Uedas are his family now too, and he doesn't have any plans to let them go.

In turn, Minoru loves (and needs) Yutaka's calm openness to and acceptance of everything. He's just not bothered by the things a lot of people would be - he takes big reveals in stride and embraces people the way they are. He never tries to hide Minoru or their relationship, and believes in him just as he is, and supports whatever growth and career he wants to pursue.

Tane also continues to be an important part of their family, with the two of them having serious conversations about when and how to move in together, when Minoru's little brother still relies on him an awful lot. I was a bit disappointed that they seem to be walking back on their plans - starting with split time seemed reasonable - but since Minoru's new job is taking him away for the spring, that's a pretty good test to see how Tane does without him for longer stretches. Maybe by the time he gets back, he and Yutaka will feel confident about starting off on their own.

There's no indication whether this story is ongoing, but it could definitely continue for quite a while. There aren't big dramatic issues to iron out, but it's not that kind of story - just a portrayal of a different sort of family structure and all the complications that go into that.

This was so cute! 🥺 Minoru and Yutaka are just so sweet. My heart can barely stand it!

I love seeing these two do ANYTHING. The wholesome family dynamics with Minoru's dad and Tane are also so cute! It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I also appreciated the bit of conflict we got between them. Minoru had some jealousy he had to work through because of one of Yutaka's old college friends. There was a bit of miscommunication because of these feelings of jealousy, but of course it all ultimately got resolved. I didn't mind having some tension in this otherwise super chill story.

My literal only complaint is about the fact that Minoru and Yutaka put off moving in together 😩 I find it completely ridiculous! Tane will be FINE! Little kids are resilient. It won't crush his hopes and dreams to have his older brother do a very normal thing which is move in with his boyfriend. It was even more annoying when it turned out Minoru got a job where he's going to be away for a training for a few months, so Tane still had to deal with some separation! UGH!

Anyway. I still don't regret reading this series at all. It's a very soothing read in contrast to some of the other BL I like to read lol

As always amazing. So much heart. And when there were doubts I LOVE how the characters reacted like real people. Once again, I did cry. The way this series handles grief is one of the best depicts I’ve consumed in any media. I love this series with my whole heart!!! Seeing Tane grow up so much in this volume made me feel so proud and bittersweet. It really is just a blink of an eye and kids in your life get older. The way queerness was talked about in this book (and also volume one of second’s please) is so real and feels so familiar to what I’ve read before while also tailored for this story and characters. The way the author portrays certain tropes is great and I am definitely going to be reading any and all other work they have out!!

Another lovely entry in the our dining table series. Considering our dining table was originally just a one shot that seems to be a trend lately. I was so happy when seconds please started coming out because Minoru and Utaka are so adorable and it’s just such a soft, beautiful story and this volume is no different in this volume. Minor is jobhunting. He finds an opportunity and it’s just really good some wonderful conversations between the two boys and their developing relationship and I can’t wait to get more of this one.

Very cute and I love the art. These two are so cute together and supportive. I love their relationship with his little brother, dad, and grandma. We get to see how they have grown into extremely important and reliable people in each other's lives. Food is still part but not as front and center in the story. The extra with the sweatshirt was sooo cute. I loved that and I hope that someday they do get to live together and do my fav trope, exchange rings.

I love this series more with each volume. Minoru and Yutaka have such a healthy relationship. Such a wholesome and heartwarming story.

I can’t remember if this one done in the previous volume, but I noticed that the length of Minoru’s hair changes almost every chapter to show the seasons changing and the passage of time. His hair is short in the chapter where he gets a job interview to show that he cut it to be professional. I love that detail!

So cute. This series gives me such a warm feeling. The characters are so normal and ordinary but that is why the story is so compelling. I teared up a few times during this one!!
