I liked this volume a lot. I loved to watch what happens next, what the future has in store for our characters. And the bits about the shadows were so much fun! I'm looking forward to the last volume.

This is a series of codas to last volume's epic conclusion. Familiar characters are reintroduced in their new roles in the new status quo.

Thanks to some time travel stuff, we do have the problematic instance of a man in his forties posing as a middle-schooler in order to date a high-school girl, though they sort of plaster that over with some past lives and recovered memories malarkey.

It's all very episodic as it jumps around between characters, flashbacks, dreams, and even a supernatural police procedural, but there are some nice moments, a few fight scenes, and a sense of what everyone will be doing now that the apocalypse is in the rear-view mirror.

The next volume promises more of the same with a time jump and the introduction of next-generation characters.

glad i finished the series but it def dragged for me towards the end. the epilogue felt more like a dj or fanfic although it was sweet to see him become a dad. not as interested in the son so i'll prob not read ragnorak. overall it had some peak moments and cool art but got repetitive and the stakes felt pretty diminished at times given jinwoo's strength. still gotta give igris the red 10/10 - wish they had left his original chara design instead of going purple black.

CRAZZYYY. HOLY MOLY.

my volume to chapter ratio was a bit off when trying to figure out which chapters go in each volume but the ending was in this one. it was actually crazy and im not ok. at first, i was confused why he was a little kid talking to ppl from korea's national guild, and then it explained it...

im sick.

what do u MEAN he went back in time to him as a kid to undo all of the hunting and monsters?? and his mom isnt sick and his dad is with him again like he wasnt about to ruin all of korea?? SICK.
havent read an ending this good to an anime since AOT and id be lying if i said this didnt feel sentimental right now.

szn 3 im coming for u ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Fun little side stories to tie it all together! I loved that not only did we get our awesome MC but also shadows, demons, a detective who was someone else in the other timeline, see scared criminals (that is one way to get rid of them), and there is so much more. I was so happy to see Jin-woo get after his girl and fulfil that promise! This was just so fun and I am happy that these stories exist!

there’s something deeply funny about a story that is essentially every incel’s fantasy come true culminating in the main character becoming a cop—if you were trying to be ironic, that wouldn’t land

Así SÍ SE HACE un extra final tras la historia.

(Lite casi lloro con el capítulo narrado por la sombra y cuando están visualizando ESE MOMENTO en pantalla gigante como si fuera la final del mundial... son las mejores 😭😭).

I watched the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling first and got so invested that I couldn’t wait for the next season, so I jumped straight into the manga — despite usually not being much of a manga reader. The story is just as gorgeous and engaging on the page as it is in the anime, with fast-paced fights, strong story progression, and none of the dragged-out feeling that a lot of other series can fall into. I ended up binge-reading the entire series back to back and loved every second of it.

I can be content with the ending. It was nice that we got to see years pass and see what other people were doing.

Igres' chapter is my favorite one. And the fact that Beru is so cute with the "little monarch" is cute. His chibi-ness always makes me smile.

Could not wait for the next season of anime so all I could do was read it.

It was very worth it!
Still funny how getting stronger makes you more hot, but I don't mind that. Also that statue will forever be part of my nightmares :)))

Ah, the victory lap and the what if! stories. This is my 4th go around the series, and I had planned to finish this in the last year, but a few books spilled ove,r so there's that. I love this series and will continue to love.

This is part 1 covering the first 11 side stories, and part 2 will cover the rest. I love the entire series and also the side stories as they cover some what-if scenarios and some future stories. All fun and all lovely. Let's just Keep on reading. This was the third re-read, and I would continue to read the series and probably start collecting the physical copies, like someone said, to support the creators.

I have always loved comics, and I can and I have. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and I hope you will always love it. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Retaining their memories of the previous timeline, Jinwoo and his shadow army settle into life within an alternate history where the Gates never opened, seeking new purpose - and reforming lost bonds - while deciding who will and will not learn the forgotten truths. Chugong and Disciples offer fans a charming and humourous series of epilogue chapters, an enjoyable blend of engaging tensions and heartwarming slice-of-life goodness. What new life shall the Shadow Monarch lead when the fate of humanity is no longer on his shoulders?

Gahhhhd.

I really thought the epilogue would be a fun little wrap-up but I couldn't bring myself to care about most of it except for the shadow summons. Beru, as always, was the only one keeping me remotely interested.

It felt like the author tried to squeeze in some real-life, fanservice-y moments, but it all came off so forced that I nearly DNFed it. Just didn’t hit the mark for me.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of this series, but I do like that the main character still had a life outside of being the hero. ❤️ He went back to get his girl 😝😝

5/5 (Review is for the series as a whole and does not contain spoilers)

In an alternate world, where monsters are real and select humans have been granted stronger abilities that make them ideal for fighting these monsters, Jinwoo Sung is known as the weakest hunter throughout Korea. But when a raid goes wrong, and hunters are killed, Jinwoo’s perseverance grants him a new power. As Jinwoo grapples with loss and his newfound abilities, he must learn how to overcome the increasingly stronger monsters that come his way.

Overall, I enjoyed this series. Jinwoo starts out as a weak hunter, yet through his perseverance (and a little help from the system), he grows and continues to get stronger, constantly taking out the next strongest monster. This series is likely to appeal to those who enjoy other action packed shounen manga (or manhwa). The fight scenes are fun and there is a small level of romance that adds to Jinwoo’s character. Some of the themes explored throughout the series include the value of friendship and family and the importance of persevering. Jinwoo originally cares only for himself and his family, but as the story progresses, he grows to care more about the people of Korea, then the people of Asia, and finally, he recognizes the importance of saving the world. Additionally, I love the art style, although it is on the darker side and some of the fight scenes can be confusing to follow. The suggested age for this series is Older Teen (which I assume to be about 16+); however, some younger audiences would probably be okay with it. There is some violence (blood and gore), but nothing sexual (and even the artwork for women characters is not sexual), and the main character is in his early twenties. Overall, this is another action-packed series with great art that I would definitely recommend!

I've enjoyed this series, and was a little sad at the ending in the previous volume. In a way, it felt a like the stakes were completely changed at the end there. While humanity got to have their normal, every-day lives that they deserved, Jinwoo suffered a fate of immortality and having to bear the burden of remembering everything. These were not the stakes that kept me reading day in and day out, so I'm still reeling from having that rug pulled from under me and another one slipped in its place.

That being said, I appreciated the side stories that Volume 14 provides. It gives some of these characters some much needed closure on their stories. Some characters get a chance to remember the other life, while others have a chance to make positive choices in their lives. My favorite part was where we get to know what happened to the shadow army and how they have evolved into individuals. It's cool details like this that make me appreciate what this universe has to offer.

If you enjoyed the Solo Leveling series, these side stories offer ways to enjoy the leftover crumbs.
