"The Grand High Beast must find a way to stop this. These aren't going to be trials... they're going to be executions."
Meadow Woodley, now 17, is beginning her second year in Elementa, after passing the vigorous trials the previous year.
But her work is not over yet, and with Zeno amassing an army in the trial worlds, the threat of war looms over her and the other inhabitants of Elementa.
In order to put a stop to Zeno’s schemes, Meadow and her friends must venture into hidden magical realms, both in the human world and Elementa.
But will they make it through Zeno’s deadly trials in time?

Returning to Elementa in The Beast Trials: Evil's Wrath was pure magic. The worldbuilding bursts with detail and the stakes are just as high as they were in The Beast Trials. The characters are deeply engrossing. One goes through such an incredible redemption arc that it genuinely made my heart feel full. The pacing is still electric, and there’s a constant sense of urgency as the characters work to stop the bad guy and prevent the worst from happening. The twists and turns are incredible. Without giving spoilers, expect to go through the full spectrum of emotions, this book hits hard in so many ways. It’s YA at its peak and perfect for readers of all ages.
Fans of The Luminaries and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will find plenty to love here. Also, hear me out on this one, Halloweentown. I know the plot and setting are completely different, but the vibes are strikingly similar. That magical atmosphere, the range of quirky and mystical beings, and the young female lead discovering she’s something more while stepping into another world have echoed through both books.
Don’t miss out. This series is fantastic so far, and I am ready for whatever G. T. Jones gives us next.

This installment delves deeper into darker themes, amplifying the stakes and placing an immense burden of responsibility on Meadow’s shoulders. The connections established with supporting characters from the first book heighten the emotional stakes, creating intense moments filled with uncertainty and questions of trust that will leave readers on the edge of their seats.
The climax of the story culminates in an epic cliffhanger that promises to leave fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this sensational fantasy series. G. T. Jones has crafted another incredible installment that not only builds on the foundation laid in the previous book but also expands the universe in thrilling ways. With its rich character development, fast-paced action, and a plot that keeps readers guessing, it’s clear that this series is poised for greatness, captivating audiences and ensuring its place in the pantheon of must-read fantasy literature.
G.T. Jones’s Evil's Wrath is a confident and propulsive second act in "The Beast Trials" series, a book that understands the fundamental assignment of a sequel: take everything the audience loved from the first installment, and turn the dial to eleven. This isn't a placeholder in a series; it's a calculated escalation that plunges its young heroine from the crucible of a personal trial into the forge of a full-scale war.
The novel picks up with protagonist Meadow Woodley beginning her second year in the magical realm of Elementa, but any hope of a normal school year is swiftly obliterated. Where the first book focused on survival and proving oneself, Evil's Wrath expands the canvas dramatically.
