Two's Better

Rate this book
“I just can’t believe we’re about to graduate, and we’ve never had sex.”

“Why? Want to do something about it?”

Uzezi Edafe had clearly been joking around when he’d asked his best friend that question. So why can’t he stop thinking about it? Why does he suddenly feel like it just. Makes. Sense?

Ofure Okpako’s best friend has clearly lost his goddamn mind. So why can’t she stop thinking, well, why the fuck not? They love and trust each other like they do no one else. Doesn't it. just. Make. Sense?

All it takes is one kiss—just to test the waters—and now they’re drowning, with neither of them seemingly willing to come up for air.

OMG Viano, you really outdid yourself with this one!
I loved every single thing about this book. The friends-to-lovers trope was perfectly written. And don’t even get me started on Uzi baby and how he cherished Fure. Even in the deepest throes of passion, he was still a gentleman (my kind of man 😌).

The storyline had me hooked, the ending had me grinning like a fool(& deeply satisfied), and the spicy scenes were top tier. For a second, I lowkey wanted to be part of their friend group!

You deserve a hundred stars for this.

If you’re in the mood for a friends-to-lovers romance with spice and a sweet happily-ever-after, this is it. Look no further.

This was so cute. For once, a best friends to lovers book where they actually feel like best friends rather than “one of them thinks they're just friends, but the other has been in love with them all along”. They both genuinely love each other platonically, and would have been happy as friends forever, but find out that they want more when they start exploring that possibility. Both characters are virgins.

They're both in university, and the book is very slice-of-life and low angst. The main conflict in the book is the FMC working out what age wants to do after graduation. I wasn't super invested in that storyline but it was fine. To be honest, I got bored and skimmed once they exchanged “I love yous” because I wasn't invested in the rest of the plot.

The sex scenes were great, with a variety of acts and both characters communicating what they want and don't want, very enthusiastic consent and an MMC who would eat pussy for days. They were somewhat unrealistic (the first time they have P-in-V sex he comes 3 times and she comes 5, I think!) but hey, this is fiction after all!

Finally, I enjoyed the representation in this book. I love how the author writes Nigerian characters living in Britain and includes parts of both cultures. Both MCs are fat (the term they both use) and queer and the FMC is implied to have ADHD.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 Stars I Am In My Feeling, I Am Laughing, I Am Obsessed

Two’s Better absolutely swept me. It’s been a long time since I fell this hard for a couple and fell this in love with the way an author brings two people together. Viano Oniomoh truly said “you want feelings? you want chemistry? you want banter that has you kicking your feet?” and delivered.

The humor? I was dying. The emotional moments? Had me misty eyed. And the slow unraveling of their friendship into something deeper? Chef’s. Kiss. It felt natural, earned, and so tender in a way that just hits all the warm, soft spots.

I don’t want to spoil anything, because part of the magic is watching it unfold, but I’ll say this: Viano Oniomoh writes bangers full stop and I genuinely think this might be my favorite of hers so far.

If you love romance that makes you laugh, makes you feel, and makes you root for two people with your whole chest, this one needs to be on your list.

Two’s Better 💗💗

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

💗Friends to Lovers
💗Sweet Romance Vibes
💗Spice!

“And with every beat of my heart, I thought, I love you.”

Ohhh my heart! This book was so sweet — definitely one of the best friends-to-lovers stories I’ve read.

The pacing and buildup were just right, and the chemistry and banter between Ofure and Uzezi were chef’s kiss. I really loved how tender and sweet they were with each other — they both handled one another with so much care.

It felt like they always knew just the right things to say and do for each other, especially when it mattered most.

I also really liked the concept of breaking down the stereotype that there’s no such thing as a perfect first time — because you can have a perfect first time with the right person. They were definitely meant to be each other’s perfect first time and each other’s forever.

The spice and romance were balanced perfectly. Honestly, I liked everything about this book — it was sweet, drama-free, and full of sweetness.

I highly recommend it if you love the friends-to-lovers trope, want something soft and romantic, and some spice. 🤎✨

JUST PURE PERFECTION!!! I usually stray away from friends to lovers cause I’m always told how the MCs should be together instead of being shown. But this book SHOWED ME and it was so good, I loved it!! I had the best absolute best time reading it. If I hadn’t started it while I was on vacation I might’ve finished it earlier! I recently decided that I need to dive into the backlist and Viano Oniomoh is quickly becoming a fave of mine!!

Now back to my babies FURE AND UZI!!! Those two just made complete sense. They were so in sync that it was honestly so funny they took this long to get with the program! They literally wanted the same things and, most importantly, THEY COMMUNICATED!!! Not one misunderstanding in sight!!! My literal catnip! Also, you want to know the best part? NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Now I’m sat for Dayo and Prince’s book!!! I can’t wait!

Tropes:
-M/F
-Friends to lovers, duh!
-Bi for Bi
-Plus Sized MC(both of them)
-Both virgins

3 sentence synopsis: It's her last semester of college and Ofure finally wants to lose her V-card. The catch? She wants her first time to be special and with someone she cares about and is delightfully surprised when her childhood best friend Uzezi offers himself up as tribute. But first, Uzezi and Ofure must navigate what introducing intimacy could mean for their friendship and futures.

As a 36 year-old, college romances don’t always do it for me. One, because I am almost half a lifetime removed from college and two, because I met my husband in college and have high standards for new adult romances. Two’s Better by Viano Oniomoh surpassed my expectations and is easily the best new adult romance I’ve read in 2025.

It’s been a few weeks since I finished Two’s Better and I’m still not over it. As such, I’m writing this review in gush format where I bullet point all the things I loved about this book.

Things I loved in Two’s Better:

- The dual virgin trope was PERFECTLY executed. There was no weird purity culture shaming here. I love love love sweet (and spicy!) first times.
- The setting of Nigerian students studying in London. The author is Nigerian and this book was full of Nigerian culture even in the UK setting.
- Found family goodness. I miss college friend group days.
- The spice was spicing and the consent was HOT. Plus I love how the author included that “losing one’s virginity” doesn’t necessitate PIV intercourse. Break that heteronormative world view!
- It’s a M/F bi 4 bi romance, which is honestly my favorite type of queer romance (if I had to choose)
- Amazing fat representation for both the MMC and the FMC
- Low angst, childhood besties-to-lovers goodness
- The MCs authentically read as early 20 somethings

If you haven’t read Viano Oniomoh yet, now is your time to rectify this. Her books are gold! Plus us westerners would do well to read more books written by people in the global south. Just saying.

Amazingly, Sweet and Hot! Plus, Queer Rep!

Because the story was written through a Black & Nigerian Queer lens, all of the tropes felt very refreshing and intensely satisfying. Ofure and Uzezi were wonderful to watch slide from genuinely platonic to something more. What makes everything so palpable is the non-hetronormative aspects of their friendship and their friendships that they have within their friend group. Also, the tension is delightful. It's so sexy. Literally going to recommend to everyone I can lmao! The helpless desire and healthy communication, the sexy consent- This story was everything! Thank you! One of my favorite books this year! 🖤🤌🏾

cute concept but this was really long and really repetitive. one can only hear a restatement of "i'm so scared this sex pact is gonna ruin our best friendship, but also never mind it won't ruin it because we've been in love all this time, but actually it may be a bit risky, but who cares we already go on dates all the time" chapter after chapter (from both parties mind you!!) so many times before it gets fucking annoying.

would've rated this higher if it was one hundred pages shorter. I love Viano's work and I'll definitely pick up her other books, but this one was a miss for me because the pacing and length was not it.

oh Lord I am trying to be a fly to see themmm

Anyways I love friends to lovers done like this. Yes, Ofure talks about the glitches (the slight moments of wanting her friend in a nonplatonic way) But finally take the time to feel the romantic feelings and realization of those feelings!!!!!!!!! I eat that up every timeeeee. I am ready for the rest of the books in this series. That friend group got meeeeeeeeeee

The sex pact between ofure and Uzezi her best friend was to make her first time perfect as she wants but what happens when romantic feelings start creeping in between will it destroy their friendship or will their love thrive.
The writers writing in this story is impeccable and easy to assimilate the story also explores the LGBTQ+ society
and themes like love sexuality family pressure determination and friendship.

Ezra, Tamara, Fiona, Prince, Dayo, Bernice, Ofure, and Uzezi pure vibes, no judgment zone. I honestly can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series…. I love it I love it.

When I heard that if I liked Go Deep, I’d love this book, I was a little skeptical because I could not finish Go Deep for the life of me (love Rilzy Adams but that book was not for me). BUT THISSSS *chef’s kiss*. It made me want to give the friends to lovers trope another chance. Thank you Viano Oniomoh for putting my faith back is friend to lover romances again!!

This is a unique story about two Nigerian aspiring architects, best friends schooling in the UK. Ofure and Uzezi both bisexual, have been friends right from childhood... Both seeking for the perfect first time sexual intercourse.
And Uzezi comes up with this crazy idea that changes their relationship forever ♾️... Find out if it was worth it after all 🫠.

This is my 7th book I’ve read from this author and she has once again showed me why she’s one of my favorite authors.

Now here’s what you’ll find in this book:
👩🏾‍❤️‍👨🏾Best friends to lovers
💜Bi4Bi rep
🤎Black/Nigerian cast

This follows two best friends, Uzezi and Ofure, who decide to share their first times with each other. I absolutely loved this book. It was so soft, tender and also spicy. I love how strong and concrete their friendship was even without the sexual/intimate relationship.
You could tell they loved each other as platonic friends and you could see the way they evolved into being in love.
Normally, I’m not a friends to lovers girlie but this book sold me on it.
The chemistry, the tension was through the roof. The respect and level of care and attention they gave to each other was so beautiful to watch.

The book covered a topic I really appreciated. That is, how the weight of parental expectations and affect your decisions as an adult. It was so relatable to me.

I also really adore their friendships with their other friends. It was just so wholesome. They had a whole big friend group that just felt like family really. I actually wanted to be part of their friend group fr.

There are other people in their friends group whose stories I would love to read. I won’t mention their names cos it’s a spoiler. You’ll know who and who is getting a book by the end.🤭

Long and short of this is, I highly recommend this book. I will be re-reading when I feel like picking up a comforting book.
