I thought I was done with trusting anyone, until a shy orc potter in a cowboy hat offers me forever.
Allie: Running from my father’s criminal past wasn’t my plan, but when dangerous people want something I don’t have, the orc cowboy town of Lonesome Creek becomes my only sanctuary. Taking a job with Hail, the quiet orc potter whose hands create magic from clay, should be temporary. Just long enough to disappear. But watching him work and seeing the gentle way he treats his rescued wolf, Tressa, I feel safer for the first time in months. I’m starting to want things I can’t have. Like his shy smiles. A future that isn’t built on fear. But falling for him means risking everything I’ve fought to protect.
Hail: Running the pottery barn keeps my hands busy and my heart quiet, even when my stutter makes talking to tourists a challenge. Then I hire Allie as my assistant, and I start dreaming of something more. She makes my art sound like magic instead of mud. I don’t care that she’s got secrets. But when someone threatens her, I’ll protect what’s mine. I’d face down the world for the woman who sees beauty in my simple pottery and makes me believe I’m worth fighting for. And I’ll spend forever proving she was right to trust a shy orc with her heart.

AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
This is such a cute series. Orcs coming from under their mountain wanting to interact with humans. They come prepared to use their skills to open businesses and are willing to work hard for what they want. What they want, if the fates deem, a fated mate and a successful life. Each of these stories has a female who ends up at Lonesome Creek usually hiding from someone, a bad guy, a runaway bride etc. each has met and found the Orc of her fated future. These do not have hot steamy love scenes but are very sweet HEA. I’ve enjoyed each of them.
I love the Lonesome Creek Orcs! This newest story centers around Hail, the brother who makes pottery, and Allie, a human who has spent the last couple of years running for her life. Her artist father raised Allie and is immediately drawn to the beauty of Hail's pottery. She sees the love and detail in his work and the beautiful soul he has. Hail doesn't believe he has much to offer; he's shy with a speech impediment. When Allie steps in to help him with his pottery class, he is drawn to her in a way he has never been drawn to any female before. But danger follows Allie, and Hail, his pet wolf, and this family of Orcs will do anything to help her. I adored Hail, and the way Ava handled his stuttering was very thoughtful and understanding. I received an ARC and my review is voluntary
Allie has been on the run for two years from some bad men her father was involved with. She decided to hide at an orc wild west town and met Hail who is an orc with a stutter and his white wolf Tressa and he hires her as his assistant in his pottery shop. But those bad men find her and what happens from there you will have to read to find out. I honestly feel like you can't go wrong reading a book by Ava Ross. She always delivers a fantastic story with some spice and wonderful family connections and friendships. I loved it.
Ava Ross's Sweet Talking Orc Cowboy is the story of sweet Hail, an artistic potter Orc, and a woman trying to outrun a murderous syndicate. He immediately gets a mate symbol on his wrist after meeting Allie who quickly gets a matching symbol on her wrist. They fall in love quickly and join together to run the pottery barn in the Orc tourist town. Then the bad guys show up, and pandemonium ensues. Imagine huge pink ostrich sized critters attacking the bad guys led by a wolf! All's well by the end with a hint of what could happen between orc Becken and a female human rideo expert. I think they need a book!
Ava's Brides of the Lonesome Creek Cowboys series is so good. We read of Allie who is running from her past and luckily finds herself in Lonesome Creek. She's hired on by Hail in his pottery business. They connect, but danger follows Allie. Hail is protective, gentle and so loving. You need to read this amazing story.
💚 “You’re the dream I never knew I was missing.” ~~~ Allie is so wonderful! She’s kind, compassionate and so nice. Even more, I loved her resilience, determination and strength to deal with everything life has thrown her way. Allie is an amazing woman and I loved her so, so much!
And Hail is a truly incredible male, too! He is big and strong, but underneath his fearsome facade, he’s a cinnamon roll through and through. Hail is so kind, caring, considerate and honorable. And I loved his patience and dedication for creating art. This sweet orc might be quiet and shy, but Hail is also an orc, and he fiercely protects what’s his. Hail is a remarkable male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Allie and Hail! Running from her father’s past, Allie ends up in Lonesome Creek and takes a job as Hail’s assistant. Their connection was immediate, but danger is following Allie… Luckily, people and orcs in Lonesome Creed don’t run away from danger. I absolutely adored Allie and Hail together! Their chemistry was incredible and them working together in the pottery barn was an absolute delight to read. Even more, I loved how supportive, caring and protective they were of one another. And when they gave into the undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were so hot. Allie and Hail were absolutely perfect for each other and more than deserved to find happiness and love together.
In addition, the way Allie’s “problem” was resolved - I didn’t expect such turns of events and loved it! Also… Tressa for the win!
Overall, Sweet-Talking Orc Cowboy is another fantastic addition to the series!
I couldn’t put it down and I absolutely loved every single page of it!
I really enjoyed this monster-human, fated mates, he falls first romance with a side of prolonged hiding. The story had a good mix of sweet, spicy, real life issues, and bad guys doing bad things. Hail and Allie are portrayed as real, relatable characters who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as messy beings. Hail is a sweet, shy, lonely orc with a stutter. He and his brothers recently built Lonesome Creek Ranch, a Wild West tourist attraction town. He creates pottery and holds pottery classes in town. Allie is a human woman who is running and hiding from criminals. She comes to Lonesome Creek hoping to find work and hide out in the tiny town. When Hail touches Allie, he knows she’s his true mate but is unsure about telling her. Once danger comes for her though protecting his mate is all that matters. To get to their HEA they’ll first need to defeat the bad guys while protecting Allie and the town. I have a soft spot for the characters who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Hail. So I love when they finally see their worth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. I love this little orc western town.
A cozy and charming romance with a shy orc potter who will melt your heart!
In an attempt to hide from dangerous people, Allie ends up in Lonesome Creek. She lands a job assisting Hail, the quiet potter, hoping to keep a low profile and disappear. Hail's stutter makes talking to tourists a challenge, contributing to his quiet, reserved nature. It also makes him feel he isn't worthy of love or deserving of a woman like Allie.
Hail is the definition of a "cinnamon roll" hero; he's a gentle giant who creates beauty with clay. His shy smiles, his dedication to his pottery, and the sweet way he treats his rescued wolf make him a swoonworthy MMC. When the stakes are raised and Allie's troubles catch up to her, Hail's quiet demeanor becomes fierce and protective. His determination to help her and keep her is incredibly endearing.
If you love a protective hero with a heart of gold, cozy monster romance, and fated mates and found family, this one is for you!
Hail and Allie. Allison is on the run from some very bad people. People who are after her for something her father may have done but that she has no idea or part of. She hears there maybe work at the Lonesome Creek Western town created and run by Orcs. Thinking that might be a safe place to hide she goes there. She meets Hail, a shy Orc with a stutter and an incredible talent with clay. Before long Hail realizes Allie is his fated mate. As Allies becomes more attached to Hail and his white wolf Tressa danger comes closer. Hail and his family rally around Allie to protect her. This book is full of action and excitement! I absolutely adore these characters...Hail may be my favorite of the Orc brothers so far. He is so sweet and gentle. Allie has a strength to her that runs deep but also has a gentle soul. I laughed and I cried (when Allie finds out about her dad) and I swooned over this gentleorc. Needless to say I loved the book!
This was such a great addition to the series and I loved seeing such a quiet and shy orc get the girl ;) Allie is on the run and is hoping to hide as an assistant to potter, Hail. He has a stutter and feels he's unworthy of love. However, upon meeting, these two get mate marks :) Well, of course, trouble keeps following Allie and Hail becomes all for her - protective and fierce. Definitely hot ;P I love how things were resolved in this one and that they got their happy ending. So good and I'm looking forward to more books set in this world :D
Sweet sweet read. Ava knows how to create an addictive read. The Brides Of The Lonesome Creek, just keep getting better and better.
Hail and Allie are delightful together. Their individual personalities compliment each other. The suspense that befalls Allie is heart wrenching. Her trust and faith in Hail and his brothers is admirable and commendable. Their sweet slow burn love story is beautiful to watch. Amazing as always Ava
Allie and Hail I love Lonesome creek, all the other books were fantastic and this One I was really waiting to read because we already knew Hail from other books and he is always a gentle soul with a very artistic side. I was not dissapointed as he is just as I imagines and so much more. This books make me feel so good inside, just perfect to curl up with a warm blanket. Allie is a Lucky women and She is also perfect for him. Amazing story.
He was sweet, and shy around people. She was able to fake it, to make it, so she could blend in, but not stand out. Having to be constantly on her guard, keeping ahead of so very bad people. Who doesn't believe she has no idea where the things they are willing to kill for, are, nor did she ever see them. Meeting her shy Orc, who just found out she's his fated mate, is a blessing and a curse. I did love their HEA ending, very much. Trish. A.
I think this one is the best in the series! How can a reader not lose their heart to a shy, sweet orc like Hail. Through in some suspense and you have the perfect afternoon read. It was also delightful to see previous characters woven into the story. Download and enjoy❤️❤️❤️
Alone and on the run Allie ends up in Lonesome Creek. Hoping to stay awhile she finds acceptance and love here. Love with Hail who turns out to be her fated mate. But when her past catches up with her can the town keep her safe. Sweet sexy romance.
Allie and Hail are a unique couple. But the great part of this book is the care and love of the family and the community. It was wonderful to see how confident Hail was despite his stutter. He was confident in his relationship with his brothers. Enjoy
Allison and Hail's book was so sweet. I loved how he was a stutter and she saw the true him. The part when the bad guys was in the town was crazy though. At times I was a bit confused with the time line.
A fast paced read filled with drama, suspense and fated mates. Hail is so sweet and gentle, while Allie is strong and capable. Great story, this series keeps getting better and better!
This orc challenges my usual expectations of what an orc is — he's shy and incredibly sweet, yet his protectiveness over his mate remains strong. This was also my first time reading where the MMC stutters. Still, it didn't take away from his lovable nature. Honestly, this is one orc you’d really want to hug.
