OK, I don't know what goodread's deal is, they had every teacher-companion/study guide for Where the Red Fern Grows, but not the actual book! I am not going to read the teacher guide, I am going to read the actual book, but no matter how I searched for it, I couldn't bring it up. Anyway, I am very excited to read it, because Ivy is reading it right now. It's been 20 years since I read it, and I am totally excited to read it again.
This read will reach your heart and draw out the tears. I read this book again after so many years because I'd almost forgotten the story. As a loving owner of a dog and having experienced death, this story hit home. You do not have to be a boy or into hunting to feel this story. Wonderful read. Can not wait for my children to read it one day as well!
This is one of the best books I have ever read. You will definitely shed some tears; however, you will love Billy and his relationship he has with his two dogs.
This was such a touching story it made me cry so hard at the end because of the love that both the dogs had for the boy and that the boy had for them. This is absolutely a fantastic book.
