Georgia Dawson is the newly elected sheriff in town, and she's taking her job seriously. Well, as seriously as she can with no experience, a flare for dramatics, and a fake side-arm that releases bubbles. When someone commits a murder in her sleepy small town, she's shocked to find a hot FBI agent checking her work. Now he's looking at her a little too closely, but she doesn't exactly hate it.
Neil Anders has been given an order, and his job depends on the outcome. He's supposed to go to the small town, find the truth, and then make it disappear. The only problem is, one look at Georgia and he's ready to risk everything to protect her. Wanting her is dangerous, but he's not backing down.

Hmmm, probably my least favorite in the series, plotwise, I mean. But I love Georgia; she's chaotic in an entertaining way, quirky, and genuinely funny. As for Neil, idk, he's just meh to me. I feel like between these two, Georgia carried the whole novella.
Safe, and I think this might be a dual V?? The first three books were, so I'm going to assume this too. It just wasn't stated clearly, but I think he's a v-card holder too.
Dual virgins! (I had my doubts about the hero during my read) Quote, Cumming in her feels so fucking good. It’s something I’ve never experienced before. Being inside her bare, filling her with my seed, it makes me possessive in a way that could scare her off. end quote.
Quote, “How many times have I cum inside of you? You think I would do that if I wasn't all in?” “I don't know.” I shrug. “I'm new to sex and relationships.” “I am too. That should tell you what you need to know.” His response settles me, making me trust in him even more. end quote.
Now THAT was what I needed to read which squashed my suspicions that he might be experienced, and as for her there is this,
Quote, “I'll handle it.” His voice has an authority to it, and I can’t say I hate it. “Okay.” I shrug, deciding I have to rip the Band-Aid off. “I got weird talking about the sex stuff because I'm a virgin.” end quote.
Safe No cheating No separation No gross condom use No stupid third act break up No OW Unwanted OM (she fibbed she was accepting a date with a guy who gave her access to the heroes hotel room...nothing really of note and she never went on the date) Short, funny, fast paced rom com HEA
The story in this short novella is that FBI agent Neil is in town to investigate a murder that hasn't been resolved yet. It has to do with the one that happened in the last book, but Sheriff Georgia, who has a gun that shoots bubbles, hates the sight of real blood and has a bird by the name of Yoda, hides information from the FBI hunk of 6'4. He thinks she is adorable, wacky and quirky, not to mention beautiful and full figured which he likes. She is clumsy but quite sharp and quick witted which made the banter funny. Even though it is short, they resolve the murder in a way that is wacky but clever, whilst falling in love in the process. I enjoyed this story but I wish he told her that he was new to sex and relationships when she told him she was a virgin. He did not tell her he was one as well when she did which made my hackles rise, coupled with the fact that he seemed comfortable with sex when he was intimate with Georgia, made me think he was experienced. I am overthinking this too much. I believe it is a first timers romance but since we didn't get that revelation until after they had sex it made me doubt whether he was a first timer too which hindered my enjoyment of the book. I have to admit that the first three books in the Sofa King series were more enjoyable than this one. I felt more romance in them than this since Neil seemed at first to be just interested in fucking her more than falling in love. I did not even get the obsessed hero personality trait from him as much as the other three heroes. He just seemed mildly amused by Georgia at first, later he did seem to be a bit more possessive which I liked. I think it may be that I had doubts about his past at first which clouded my judgment of him. I don't know if I will be rereading this. I might in future. I liked the first three in the series a lot better. Happy reading!
Sheriff Georgia is HILARIOUS! 😂 I loved her so much! Not sure if this is a dual v situation or not. Georgia says “she’s new to sex and relationships” and Neil says “me too,” however that’s not confirmation of whether he’s sexually experienced or not. Bummer.
Now what is this saga about, for God's sake? We've strayed so far that I don't even know what the initial intention was anymore. They were never the best books and I didn't like the couples or the obsession with pregnancy or the explicit scenes. In reality, I never knew why I read these books. But this one is on the bad side, characters that I don't even care about and it makes no sense for them to fall in love like in the first ones. Too much cringe and melodrama that comes out of nowhere and contributes much less. It's boring to finish it.
Super stinkin cute!! The heroine is the most adorably ridiculous hot mess and I loved it!
Safe. Heros past isnt mentioned at all, didnt come off as a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No ow/om, no cheating or sharing or abuse. Hea with epilogue and babies!
-dual POV -no ow/om drama -insta attraction -> love -no separation -likeable alpha hero (not OTT) -virgin heroine -no cheating -H not a manwhore -sweet likeable naïve heroine -epilogue: few years later -married with a baby and another on the way
This novella was a mess and I’m sorry, you can’t just write a virgin FMC and then have a somno sex scene. That’s just the biggest no no I’ve ever read in a book. I think between the plot, THAT egregious error, and the characters I’ve never been more sure to give my first 1 star in a WHILE.
