A practical beginner's guide focused on explaining the basics of how to use chatGPT through prompt-writing examples and insights that are tailored for average readers who want simple instruction on how AI makes life easier.
Truly, a beginners guide! I guess if you’ve never used GPT it’s a nice way to get you into it but if you’ve been using it for a while, I don’t think there’s anything that that you’re going get out of this book
Life Hacks for ChatGPT Beginners: 501 Prompts to Make Your Life Easier by Stanley Lieber.
This guide is for anyone new to AI. He discusses the differences between the other AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Genesis, and others. It includes over 500 practical prompts to help with everyday tasks—like planning meals, organizing budgets, or mapping out trips.
Lieber doesn’t just give one kind of prompt. He offers two types of prompts. One is a quick open-ended type prompt that delivers a result right away, and the other is a more detailed specific type prompt that you can customize to fit your exact situation.
A possible weakness is that experienced AI users may find some material basic or repetitive. Readers already comfortable with advanced prompting or AI workflows might not learn much beyond the prompt examples themselves. However, that is intentional because the target audience is beginners. It is less about deep technical knowledge and more about helping ordinary people see useful ways AI can fit into daily routines. Readers who enjoy hands-on learning and step-by-step examples will probably get the most value from this guide.
In the end, Life Hacks for ChatGPT is for readers curious about artificial intelligence, but unsure where to start. This book offers a friendly and useful first step into the world of AI-assisted living. This is a great book for beginners, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to use ChatGPT for the first time.
Thank you, NetGalley, StanleyLieber, and Callisto Publishing for sending this eARC for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
Let me start by saying this book is for beginners. It says so in the title. So don't get this book and then rate it low because you already know how to navigate ChatGPT. With that being said, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I have been using GPT since the beginning. I am by no means an expert...I would consider myself an advanced beginner. I can usually get my exact desired output in 2-3 prompts. But this book showed me how I can improve. I can actually get my desired output in one detailed prompt. I love the examples, and it is actually really helpful to see what is considered a bad or open-ended prompt versus a specific prompt that will yield exactly what you want in the first go. If you are not embracing AI or educating yourself on AI, you will be left behind. AI is a skill. It is not here to replace you; it is here to enhance you. Consider it a personal assistant. It is a money saver. It is an advisor. Should you use AI for medical advice? Heck no. But life advice? Absolutely yes! It is a time and money saver. I use it daily, and I have even applied some of the techniques exemplified in this book with great results! This book is a great intro for those new to AI and those even intermediate. Thank you to Stanley Lieber, Callisto Publishing, and NetGalley for the ARC. This was a great help for me, and I would recommend it to all!
This is a very accessible and practical introduction to using ChatGPT in everyday life. Even as someone already somewhat familiar with it, I still came away with plenty of new ideas for using it more effectively and creatively.
The introduction offers a clear, easy-to-understand overview of ChatGPT, covering both the basics and the wider context around AI. I found the section on prompt-writing particularly helpful, as it explains how to ask better questions to get more useful responses. The rest of the book is made up of hundreds of suggested prompts across a wide range of areas, including fitness, travel, food, language learning, gardening, hobbies, and writing. It strikes a good balance between practical support for everyday life and more fun, creative ideas.
I also appreciated the inclusion of relevant caveats around using AI, which made it feel thoughtful and responsible rather than overly simplistic.
Overall, this is a great beginner-friendly guide that’s both practical and inspiring, perfect for anyone looking to get more out of ChatGPT.
Thank you to Stanley Lieber and Callisto Publishing for providing an advance copy via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
I thought this was a fun and helpful beginner’s guide to using ChatGPT. The best part for me was all the prompt ideas—there are so many useful suggestions, and I actually tried quite a few of them myself. Some worked really well and gave me ideas I never would have thought of on my own.
I also appreciated that the book indirectly highlights that AI is a tool, not a replacement for real people and real talent. It can be super useful for brainstorming, organizing, planning, and everyday tasks, kind of like a calculator, computer, or cellphone. I’ve personally had fun using ChatGPT for different projects and simple tasks.
That said, it definitely has limits. I tried using AI for room design and clothing design, and the results were honestly pretty awful. 😂 So while it’s a great resource, human creativity and skill still matter a lot. Overall, this is a solid, approachable guide for beginners who want practical prompt ideas and a better understanding of how AI can fit into everyday life.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
I picked up Life Hacks for ChatGPT Beginners by Stanley Lieber mostly out of curiosity since I use ChatGPT every single day, and honestly, I realized pretty quickly that I’m already way past the beginner stage. Thanks to NetGalley for this copy. All opinions are mine. A lot of the information felt familiar to me, but I still found value in the sections with detailed prompts because they gave me fresh ideas on how to phrase questions and get better results. The writing is straightforward, easy to follow, and not overly technical, which makes it approachable for people who are brand new to AI tools. If you’ve barely touched ChatGPT or feel intimidated by it, this book is actually a really solid starting point. More advanced users probably won’t learn a ton of groundbreaking things, but beginners will absolutely get their money’s worth. Overall, I’d recommend it as a practical and beginner-friendly introduction to using ChatGPT in everyday life.
Review: Life Hacks for ChatGPT Beginners Author: Stanley Lieber Release Date: May 12, 2026 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) The Breakdown If you have ever looked at a blank chat box and felt like it was judging you, this is the guide you need. Stanley Lieber manages to strip away the intimidating "tech-bro" jargon and presents ChatGPT as what it really is: a highly capable, slightly nerdy personal assistant. The book is incredibly practical, featuring 501 example prompts across 15+ categories. It doesn’t just tell you that AI is useful; it shows you exactly how to apply it to the mundane parts of life—from organizing a messy grocery list to planning a vacation that doesn't involve 40 open browser tabs.
I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I'm intrigued by AI and how it can be used to make some tasks in life a little easier. That's why I requested an ARC of this book. Unfortunately, this book was a tremendous letdown. Yes, there is a disclaimer at the beginning that AI shouldn't be used in place of health professionals, but then I see prompts in the book starting with, "Act as a physical therapist" or "As a sports nutritionist." No, no way. It's totally inappropriate. Sorry, that'll be one star from me. For a pretty big lapse in judgment by even including such prompts.
Life Hacks for ChatGPT Beginners is a comprehensive source for AI prompt suggestions across all kinds of tasks and industries. What makes this guide valuable is that it goes beyond copy-and-paste templates. Even if you don’t find the exact prompt for your specific niche, the provided examples are incredibly useful for sparking fresh ideas. It provides inspiration to help you discover creative, ways to get started using ChatGPT in all areas of your life. A great resource for anyone looking to level up their prompting skills.
Thanks to Stanley Lieber, Callisto Publishing, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a review.
This is a good manual on how to get started with ChatGPT, and includes great prompt cues and conversations. This book is for the beginner who really hasn’t used AI before, but for the use case, it fits the bill. It’s nice to have for reference, especially for food prep and traveling. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!
A great introduction to using chatGPT. It offers various basic topics (food, travel, decluttering, pet care, plant care, finances, etc) and specific prompts to help get started. I appreciate how it distinguishes what AI is good and bad for.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A valuable intro to ChatGPT, especially for newbies. I've been using AI ethically in my book marketing business and in my creative writing, and I found many useful tips. Highly recommended!
Life Hacks for ChatGPT Beginniners is laid out in an easy-to-read format and best used as a reference book, not a read-straight-through book. It does what it promises: helps beginners get more out of ChatGPT without feeling overwhelmed.
Part 1 is short and covers reasonable boundaries, including AI hallucinations, privacy concerns, ethical questions, and why you shouldn’t blindly trust AI output as fact. It also warns against entering personal or financial information, using ChatGPT instead of professional medical/legal/financial advice, letting kids use it unsupervised, or using it to cheat in school.
Part 2 is the bulk of the book, explaining prompts and why input quality matters. It covers including topics like task, context, examples, GPT role, format, tone, open-ended vs specific prompts, troubleshooting, refining prompts, and paid vs free use. The pre-made prompt topics include meal planning, travel planning, fitness, home organization, gardening, pet care, financial planning, language learning, creative writing, DIY projects, shopping, education, productivity, parenting, mental health, relationships, and more.
There are useful prompts here, but there are also thousands of free prompt ebooks and websites out there. You could also log into ChatGPT and ask it for prompt ideas yourself. At a certain point, he’s basically using ChatGPT for you.
The author left out using a GPT travel fare-search prompt, and didn't include a section on using AI for business ideas or earning money.
