Dogwood Ridge is a small town on the wrong side of the tracks, at least when compared to Sweetwater Valley just over the ridge. Having the Saint’s Outlaws MC call Dogwood Ridge home doesn’t help. The men who ride with SOMC cuts on their backs will do anything for their brothers, families, and town. While the code they live by, written in blood and violence, isn’t for everyone, they stand by it with everything they are. Some of the men of the DR are looking for love and others are running from it, but either way when they find their one, they’ll never let her go.

The first book in a new MC series.

What worked for me:
• Graycie's determination to escape her past and heal
• Snake's protective nature and devotion to Graycie
• No third-act breakup

What didn't work for me:
• The resolution seemed to lack a bit of impact in my opinion

Overall, I rate it 3⭐out of 5 which means I found it to be a good book that I enjoyed and would recommend. While I know I won't feel compelled to re-read it in the future, I liked it enough to read more books by this author in the future.

Snake’s Charmer is Graycie and Turner “Snake”’s insta-love, danger-followed-her-home MC romance. The club is loyal to its brothers, families, and town, but it does not always work within the law. Their code is violent, protective, and blood-deep: once someone is theirs, they defend them hard.

The main conflict is Graycie trying to survive her past while Snake decides she belongs with him and under the protection of the Saint’s Outlaws MC.

The problem is that Graycie is not arriving with a clean slate; she is bringing danger with her, specifically the threat of an abusive/psycho ex or past relationship. Snake believes he can protect her, but Graycie fears that once he knows the full danger attached to her, he will choose the club first. Graycie

Opal

The Saint’s Outlaws MC president and the hero of Book 2, Ryker’s Renegade. His story is set up through the larger club world, and his conflict will involve Ezra, the sheriff’s daughter.

The heroine of Book 2. She is Sheriff Lyons’s daughter, a teacher, and a photographer. Her book begins when she photographs something she should not see, pulling her into danger and toward Ryker. 

Sheriff Lyons
Ezra’s father and a major anti-MC presence going into Book 2. He is protective, image-conscious, and strongly against the Saint’s Outlaws MC. 

5. Important Side Characters

• Opal is the most important side character for Graycie’s book because she bridges Graycie into Dogwood Ridge and the MC family.

• Ryker matters because he leads the club and becomes the next romantic focus.

• Ezra and Sheriff Lyons matter because the next book shifts toward the sheriff’s daughter, her dangerous photograph, and Ryker’s willingness to protect her despite the bad blood between the sheriff and the club. 

6. Chronological Plot Retelling from Beginning to End

Graycie begins the story as a woman who has been forced into flight. She does not like thinking of herself as someone who runs, but after learning that the man she was with was a lie — and after seeing who he really is — running becomes survival. She arrives in Dogwood Ridge bruised, wary, and hoping the small Tennessee town is the last place her ex would ever think to search. 

At first, Graycie tries to keep her head down. She is not looking for a new life full of attachments. She wants quiet, distance, and safety. But Dogwood Ridge gives her something she did not expect: Opal. Opal becomes a real friend, the kind of person who makes Graycie feel less alone even when Graycie is trying not to need anybody.

Through Opal, Graycie is drawn toward the Saint’s Outlaws MC. This is not Graycie’s world. The club is rough, dangerous, loyal, and intimidating. But Opal’s brother is Turner “Snake,” the club VP, and the moment Snake sees Graycie, he clocks the fear in her and the danger following her.

Snake is not a man who wants complications. His life is supposed to be simple: sister, club, brothers. Then Graycie appears, and he decides she is worth every complication she brings. Instead of being scared off by her fear and secrets, Snake becomes more drawn to her. He wants to protect her, make her happy, and give her the family she clearly does not have. 

The romance moves fast in classic insta-love MC style. Snake claims Graycie as his woman and old lady. This is a major turning point because in the Saint’s Outlaws world, being claimed is not casual. It means she is under his protection, tied to him, and recognized as the woman who belongs with him.

But Graycie’s past does not stay buried. The abusive ex/past she ran from comes looking, or at least remains a real enough threat that Snake and the club have to deal with it. Graycie’s fear that Snake will choose the club over her becomes part of the emotional tension, because Snake is a club man through and through. The book forces him to show what kind of man he is when loyalty to club and loyalty to his woman collide. 

There is also outside pressure around Snake and Graycie being together. Public descriptions say “everyone has an opinion” about their relationship, which means their pairing causes friction — likely because Graycie is new, vulnerable, connected to danger, and not originally part of MC life. Snake’s response is simple: Graycie is his, and anyone who objects learns quickly that he protects what belongs to him. 

By the end, Graycie’s story resolves as a protective MC romance with a guaranteed HEA and no cheating. Graycie goes from running alone to being claimed, protected, and folded into a found family. Snake goes from “I don’t do complicated” to choosing the most complicated woman in the room because she becomes his. The danger of Graycie’s past is handled enough for the couple’s happily-ever-after, while the wider Dogwood Ridge MC world stays open for Ryker’s story next.

Here are the confirmed big reveals without pretending we know chapter-only details:

• Graycie’s former relationship was a lie. She discovers the man she was with is not who she thought he was, and that truth is bad enough that she runs. 

• Graycie’s ex/past is abusive and dangerous. Promo/review snippets describe her as escaping an abusive ex and carrying danger into Dogwood Ridge. 

• Snake is not scared off by Graycie’s baggage. He sees the fear, recognizes she is running, and still wants her more.

• Being claimed by Snake changes Graycie’s whole situation. She is no longer just a woman hiding in a new town; she becomes Snake’s old lady, which places her under his protection and ties her to the Saint’s Outlaws MC.

• The larger series twist/bridge: Book 2 moves to Ryker and Ezra, with Ezra getting into trouble after photographing something she should not have seen. 

8. Relationship/Romance/Friendship Developments

Graycie and Snake
Their relationship is fast, possessive, protective, and built around instant recognition. Snake sees Graycie’s fear and instead of backing away, he wants to be the person who makes her safe. Graycie is wary because she has already trusted the wrong man before, but Snake’s entire arc is proving he is not like her ex.

Graycie and Opal
This friendship is one of Graycie’s lifelines. Opal is the first person in Dogwood Ridge who makes Graycie feel welcomed. Without Opal, Graycie may never have been pulled into the club orbit.

Snake and Opal
Snake’s sister is one of the few people he already values deeply before Graycie. That matters because Opal’s friendship with Graycie gives Snake an early personal reason to pay attention — and then his own attraction takes over.

Snake and the Club
Snake’s identity is deeply tied to the Saint’s Outlaws MC. He is VP, loyal, and used to putting club life first. Graycie challenges that because she becomes personal, emotional, and non-negotiable.

9. Betrayals, Secrets, Deaths, and Big Emotional Moments

Secrets: Graycie’s biggest secret is the full truth of what she is running from. She knows danger is attached to her, and she fears bringing it to Snake and the club.

Betrayal: The central betrayal appears to be from Graycie’s ex — the man she thought she knew but did not. His true nature is what forces her to run.

Deaths: Snake take revenge on Graycie's ex- thus protecting her from her parents and slaying her monster.

The book is advertised as no cheating with a guaranteed HEA, so the emotional destination is clear: Graycie survives the threat of her past and ends the book with Snake as her protector, partner, and claimed man. Snake proves that Graycie is not a burden or a mistake; she is his old lady and belongs on the back of his bike. 

The book does not appear to end by breaking Snake and Graycie apart. Instead, it finishes their couple arc while leaving the Dogwood Ridge chapter open for the next couple: Ryker and Ezra.

Before Ryker’s Renegade, remember these pieces:

• Snake and Graycie are the first main couple of the Dogwood Ridge chapter.

• The Saint’s Outlaws MC is now established in Dogwood Ridge as a rough, protective, blood-code club that will do whatever it takes for brothers, family, and town. 

• Ryker is the president, and he is the next hero.

• Ezra is Sheriff Lyons’s daughter, which makes her dangerous territory for Ryker because her father hates the Saint’s Outlaws MC.

• Ezra’s next-book danger starts with a photograph. She sees/snaps something she should not, and Ryker becomes the one willing to protect her. 

• Sheriff Lyons matters. He is overprotective, worried about appearances, and strongly against the club, so expect tension between law enforcement, family control, and MC loyalty. 

12. Main Themes or Point of the Book

• Running from danger vs. finding safety: Graycie starts as a woman forced to flee, but the story turns Dogwood Ridge into the place where she finally stops running.

• Found family: Graycie is not close to family and enters the book vulnerable, but Opal, Snake, and the club become the family/protection circle around her.

Graycie is still shocked that she has escaped her abusive ex, Sylvester. It took a while to plan and to squirrel away the things that she put into various places, so everything wasn’t in one place. She still has nightmares and hasn’t had a good nights’ sleep in ages. When she ran she chose a random town. So she ended up in Dogwood Ridge, Tennessee. The cook and owner of the diner, took pity on her, and let her rent his garage apartment.

The town has very little crime, which is because of two things: the pride of Sheriff Lyons, enforcing the law; and the local motorcycle club demanding respect in their territory. They are the Saint’s Outlaws MC. They own quite a few businesses. Graycie works with Lara who is a single mom and owner of the bakery they both work at. Opal is Graycie’s bestie, who is trying to drag Graycie to open up and to come to the SOMC clubhouse because her brother is a Brother, and Opal is in charge of all of the clubhouse’s needs. Lara & Graycie chat as they work every morning before opening and before Lara’s daughter, Vanessa wakes up to go to school. Lara & Vanessa live above the bakery.

During Church as SOMC meet for business, Ryker, the Prez, sits where his father sat, Jackal. Jackal is proud of his son, and is pretty much retired, but still comes sometimes and gives advice. Warden, Snake’s father, was the VP, and Snake inherited the job too. The same has happened to a lot of the Brothers.

I laughed a lot when Opal showed up at Graycie’s and pretty much forced her to go to a family party at SOMC clubhouse. I love when Opal snaps Graycie out of a panic attack as they arrive. I like how Opal explains to her stuff about the MC. She is a really good friend. Then we find out who is Opal’s family. I laughed. Opal is hilarious, and Opal commences to introduce Graycie to everyone. Opal is also terrifying. (You’ll see why. lol).

I love the t shirts that the teacher, and daughter of the Sheriff Lyons, wears. They are hilarious. Reading how Graycie grew up made me cry a lot. I like how Snake is pretty much mesmerized by her, from the moment he sees her arrive. IT is funny from there on out.

Finding out everything that Sylvester did to her, made me livid and want revenge and justice on him. Which is the reaction of all of the SOMC when they find out. OMG, the romance book discussion had me laughing so hard! I had to run for the bathroom. lol. Then when the rest comes back after everything happens, I love how Graycie acts around everyone. When she is truly herself, she is hilarious. I loved this book!.

**Finding Her Home!**

*Snake’s Charmer* is the first book in the new series *Saint’s Outlaws MC: Dogwood Ridge, TN Chapter*. Graycie is a brave and resilient character who has escaped a truly evil ex. However, she still feels trapped by fear, worried that he might come looking for her. As a result, she is always on alert, ready to leave at a moment’s notice if something feels off.

When Graycie arrives in Dogwood Ridge, she finally feels as though she has found a place to call home and has even made a friend. However, she is uncertain about the Saint’s Outlaws MC. Despite her best friend reassuring her that there is nothing to fear, she remains cautious. To ease her worries, her friend invites her to a family clubhouse event, where she meets Turner “Snake.”

Turner is not looking for a relationship or any kind of complications, but everything changes when Graycie walks into the clubhouse. It doesn’t take long for Snake and his brothers to realize that Graycie is running from something dark in her past. Watching her let down her walls and become vulnerable, with Turner supporting and encouraging her, is truly moving.

Turner and his MC brothers show Graycie how they will protect her as family, demonstrating that their loyalty and brotherhood are truly warm and heartfelt. Davis has done an excellent job of portraying the complicated emotional journey of healing from past trauma as Graycie and Turner work towards their HEA. This story showcases themes of brotherhood, loyalty, found family, and plenty of spice, making it a page-turner. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! Please be aware that it contains a dark theme that may trigger some readers, so please heed the author’s warnings.

What a way to start a series! I've been looking forward to finding out more about the SOMC since I first saw mention of them in the book Arrested Love, and they didn't disappoint! There are some tough moments in this one, so watch the trigger warnings, but these men love hard and fast and will do anything for their woman. Turner, aka Snake, falls head first for Graycie the moment he sees her with his sister, her best friend. The way he's so gentle with her though, and really builds her up and takes his time proving himself was perfect. This book really gave you a feel for the club too and how the men operate when it comes to loyalty and family. The found family aspect was huge in this one, so while it was a steamy and loving story about Snake and Graycie, it was so much more between the whole club too. And the connection she had with his dad?! I loved it!! Everyone deserves a dad in their corner like Warden. I did think their would be some OW drama, or more danger with her than there was, but I really liked that there wasn't. No cheating or OW drama, slight OM drama in the form of a stalker ex, no condoms, dual POV, HEA and 2 epilogues in the future. I'm really looking forward to Ryker's, Sidewinder's and Playboy's books! I think I know all the women for them, but each on has a fight on their hands I think when it comes to them and I can't wait to see how it goes!

I'm so happy to back in Ember's MC world, I've loved every one of her MC Books in the past and this is no different.

Snake/ Turner isn't looking for complicated, but when his sister brings Graycie to a family day at the clubhouse it's clear she's the reason he's never been interested. The moment he lays eyes on her he knows she's her woman, and from the body language she's showing he knows she's got something haunting her.

Snake is EVERYTHING you want in an MC hero—gruff, possessive, and fiercely protective. The second he claims Graycie, you know he’s all in. That “she’s mine” energy is strong with him, but what really stands out is how much he genuinely wants to protect her and give her a place to belong. 🖤🏍️

The suspense builds perfectly as Graycie’s past starts closing in, adding tension and stakes that keep you turning the pages. Plus, the found-family vibe within the club adds so much heart to the story. 👊✨

Snake's Charmer is the first book in the new Saint's Outlaws MC: Dogwood Ridge, TN Chapter by Ember Davis. If this book is anything to go by then the promise of this series is mighty good. I really loved this story about Graycie and Turner, aka Snake. She fled an abusive relationship and made it to the small town of Dogwood Ridge, Tennessee. There she found a place to stay and a job, along with some friends. But she still hides her past and will not open up, because she does not know what she can trust. The town of Dogwood Ridge is small, the residents are close-knit, and it is overseen by a great Sheriff and the Saint's Outlaws MC. Snake is the Vice President of the Saint's Outlaws MC and the older brother to Opal, who works with Graycie. Opal and Graycie become really close friends fast. Opal invites Graycie to the clubhouse and that is where she meets Snake...and her future changes immediately. Snake may not do complicated but when he meets Graycie he falls hard and fast, and into a world of complications. But in the end she is his and he will do anything and everything to keep her safe, protected, and with him.

If you are an Ember Davis fan, you know she writes amazing insta-love books with bikers who fall hard and fast and protect their women at all costs. So I was really excited about this new MC chapter: Saint’s Outlaws MC in Dogwood, TN. This is Snake (Turner) and Graycie’s story. Gracie is on the run from her abusive husband and ends up in Dogwood Ridge. When she ends up befriending the sister of an MC member, Opal, she is pulled into a world that she doesn’t quite understand and is drawn to a man who should probably scare her but makes her feel safe and loved instead.

I love so much about this story, but I really loved how Snake goes out of his way to be everything that Graycie needs and jumps in to protect her without an ounce of hesitation. I also loved Graycie’s courage in starting over, and who doesn’t love a protective biker? I only wish the story was just a little longer. I can’t wait to read more about the Saint’s Outlaws Dogwood, TN chapter and the women who they fall for.

She is running from a bad ex, and has been through a lot ending up in Dogwood Ridge, and he, who’s that dangerous, quiet biker who ends up all-in once he claims her. The story pulls you into their world pretty fast with MC danger, emotional baggage, and that “I’ll burn it all down for you” energy

The chemistry is intense right away, and it leans into protective/possessive hero + healing-through-love dynamic. He is very much the touch-her-and-you’re-dead type, but there’s also a softer side when it comes to her, which balances out the darker MC elements. Plot-wise, it’s got some action with club drama and the ex dynamic, but the main focus is their relationship and how quickly it becomes deep, consuming, and a little chaotic. If you want the OTT feel good with the side of possessive, this one might be for you. It feels a little "basic" with the club life and even the character dimension, but it is a good quick read and you get the HEA you are looking for including epilogue.

With Snake and Graycie, it’s a he-falls-first Instalove the moment he sees her. Graycie is an abused heroine on the run, but finds Snake fascinating. Together, they build a strong relationship.
I liked both characters a lot. There was a sweetness to Snake despite his tough biker persona and Graycie had a strong capacity for caring despite being burned in the past.
Other favorites were Warden, Snake’s dad, who had a father-daughter relationship with Graycie, and Opal, Graycie’s new best friend who was Snake’s sister.

People like Graycie's ex make my skin crawl and fill me with so much rage. Yes for the awful things they say and do, but also for the last impact it has. Every time I read a book with DV trigger warnings (even if it is in the past ie- dreams/flashbacks/memories), I struggle a bit if I should read it. I pride myself in not having big triggers. But I've also done a lot of work in this particular subject matter in terms of healing my mental health. I went in and while I did not find it to a particularly triggering read, some things were brought to the surface definitely sat with me even after finishing. That being said, I really enjoyed so much. I loved Snake (Turner) and Graycie together. I loved Graycie-girl. That nickname just made my heart happy. I love that he loves her, claims her, protects her and all in a way that is not what she experienced in the past.

Graycie's history is heartbreaking and has left her broken and alone, but seeing her tentatively lower her walls and allow the Saint's Outlaws to welcome her into their family is heartwarming. Snake worshiping her, accepting her and making her feel sexy despite her scars....sizzling hot!

This was an engaging series opener and a heartwarming romance that's swirling with darkness. Graycie ran from her abusive ex, and he is beyond abusive 😡, but she loves the town and her new bestie, Opal. When Opal pushes her to join a family event at the MC, she catches Snake's eye to the point he can't let her walk away from him. Giving her his true name, Turner, and a place on his bike lets everyone know what she is to him. Slowly, her walls start falling and I loved the connection and chemistry between them. His care and the feeling of safety she has with him will melt you. However, danger isn't done with her and I love the trust and faith she showed in Turner that really set the stage for a fab HEA. This man goes to the extreme for her and gives her his world. Love this and I can't wait for the next book to see who gets their steamy happy ending. Good fun!

Meeting Opal, her best friend, and then Snake, her brother and the VP of the Saints' Outlaws MC, was the best thing that could have happened for her. Not only did she find a great friend, but she also found love and protection. I love how the author brought Snake/Turner into Graycie's life and how protective he was over her. This is a well written MC romance with well developed characters, and a great storyline that held my attention from the first page to the last. I loved Graycie and Snake for each other, and I was cheering them on to get their happily ever after. I love the main and side characters to the point I want everyone to have their own book. Graycie might have been running away from a monster she found 'family' that shows her what safety and loyalty is all about. Snake "Turner" was the VP for Saint's Outlaw MC and his world shifted when he sees Graycie brave and scared all at once. Loved the whole book. Glad to see karma does come for a certain person. What an amazing book Snake’s Charmer was!
From the very beginning, I was completely pulled into the story and couldn’t put it down.

The way Ember builds tension while also showing deep emotion is just beautifully done. You really feel everything, the suspense, the pain, and especially the love. It all comes together in such a powerful and engaging way.

One of my favorite parts was the strong sense of loyalty and love within the MC club. That bond felt so real and added an extra layer of depth to the story.

This book is absolutely a must-read. Highly recommended!
