Ghost Pack #2

Wolf Weaver: A Werewolf Romantic Urban Fantasy

Rate this book
One fractured ghost. One untouchable mate. Zero second chances.

The ghosts who follow me around are more than memories—they’re family. And someone just stole the artifact tying one of them to this world.

I track the thief through a maze of magical traps and across continents, relying on the help of the alpha protector I'm mated to but barely know. We aren't fast enough. Soon, Ellie begins to forget who she is.

To save her, I’ll have to face a legacy I barely understand and claim a power I never asked for. But if I open the door to what I might become, will there be anything left of who I was?

Continue the slow-burn paranormal adventure of the Ghost Pack series in Wolf Weaver, a werewolf urban fantasy perfect for fans of matings of convenience, magical legacies, and found-family dynamics.

Aimee Easterling is a USA Today Bestselling author writing on the boundary between urban fantasy and paranormal romance. She specializes in spunky shifters and invites you to dive into her werewolf world in the Wolf Rampant trilogy, the spinoff Bloodling serial, and her new Alpha Underground series.

Studying biology and working as a naturalist have both informed Aimee's writing, but she's quite willing to let reality slide in favor of a good story. When not writing, she loves to read and always keeps books by Robin McKinley, Patricia Briggs, and Elizabeth Peters on her shelf. You can learn more at www.aimeeeasterling.com.

This is the second novel in Aimee Easterling’s Ghost Pack series of contemporary paranormal romantic fantasy. Although this story could be enjoyed on its own, I recommend reading the entire series in order. This series takes place after Easterling’s Rune Wolf series and has some references to that series, but you don’t have to read that series first to enjoy this.

Wren and Locke previously agreed to a strictly platonic mating of convenience, but Wren is beginning to wonder if she might want more. They don’t have much time to consider their relationship though when Wren’s youngest ghost pack mate is in danger. As Wren and Locke try to find Ellie’s missing anchor, they learn more about Wren’s wolf weaver ability, as well as who they can and cannot trust. What results is a very exciting, action-packed story with a slow burn romance and found family vibes.

I like Wren and Locke, as well as most of the secondary characters. I still don’t really understand how the ghost pack, anchors, and wolf weaving work, but I’m enjoying the story enough to just roll with it. Wren is still learning too, so maybe it will all make sense after the next book.

The audiobook production was good, and Grace Noble’s narration was fine. Her pronunciation is clear, and she’s able to convey mood and emotion effectively. She does ok with character voices, although I occasionally found it hard to distinguish between some of the voices. I wish she had used more diverse accents and speech mannerisms to make each character’s voice more distinctive.

Recommended for those who enjoy paranormal romance, contemporary fantasy, and shifter stories.

A lost anchor and understanding.

When the youngest of Wren’s ghost pack, Ellie, loses her anchor and starts losing her memories, Wren will end up traveling across the ocean for answers. What she finds is an answer to what she is, but if she doesn’t claim the power she never wanted, and she has never understood, she won’t be able to save Ellie. With her mate Locke, the wolf shifter she now realizes that she wants more with than just a convenient arrangement as her protector Wren will have to battle for the lives of her ghost pack and her own.
I couldn’t put this book down. As always, this author’s characters kept me engaged from the first page with their unique and complex personalities. I am looking forward to the next book already. This is a slow burn fantasy romance with magic, fated mates, and unexpected twists and turns in the plot that kept me engrossed in this must-read addition to a fantastic series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by the author.

When the afterlife of Wren’s youngest ghost pack member is threatened, Wren and Locke begin a globe trotting rescue mission. Poor Ellie’s anchor was stolen when Wren and Locke were away helping Knut’s mother. Now they’re in a race against time to get it back before Ellie is lost forever. This book had it all, there’s a ton of action and adventure, we get to learn more about what Wren is and what she can do, and I loved how Wren and Locke’s relationship grows in this story. There’s a lot of action in this book and we got to learn more about the backgrounds of several characters, which I appreciated. I was happy with the progression of Wren and Locke’s relationship, and I have faith that the author has a creative solution to get around their skin contact/ghost banishment issues—I just love how respectful Locke is regarding this issue, he’s pretty much perfect! This book also sets up the next book nicely, so I am eagerly awaiting the next book!

At first, as I was finishing this book, I thought this was the last book, and it would be a duology. However, I’m happy to say that there will be another book coming. This latest has Wren and Locke headed to Sweden and Ellie’s anchor lost with her fading fast. We are treated to learning about Wren’s abilities, losing friends, gaining friends, trips across the ocean, and some great action. I just love Wren and Locke’s relationship, and I love the idea that was brought up at the end that leads us to the next book. I’m still a bit confused about what a wolf weaver exactly is (darn me reading too fast all the time), but I still enjoyed this book. LOL! Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Audiobook: I was captivated by this story from the opening paragraphs until the end. Ellie, the youngest of Wren's ghost pack, was in serious trouble, and Wren would risk everything to help her. I was happy that Locke supported Wren in her decisions and actions. The surprising twists and turns, along with the almost non-stop action, kept me invested, and I listened to the whole audiobook in one sitting. I enjoyed Grace Noble's narration as her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given an advanced listener's copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Wren and Locke travel to Europe to try to help Knut's mother, and Locke's ex, Ylva. Wren had to leave her remaining ghosts behind since security frowns on knives and lighters as carry-on items. This trip starts a chain reaction that continues through another trip to the continent and lots of ghostly action! Wren will learn much more about her abilities, and not everyone will survive the trip. The real question is - will her and Locke's mate bond survive?

Enjoyed the story, though the they/them nonsense that is included made me roll my eyes. Be prepared to just go with it and let the concept be the fiction it is. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Wolf Weaver, Ghost Pack book 2 by Aimee Easterling, in an enchanting novel that is sure capture your attention and never let go. It's filled with twists and turns, adventure, danger, ghosts, werewolves and ghost werewolves. I really enjoyed watching Wren grow as she is coming to terms with her gift. Wren and Locke's relationship is coming along nicely despite the whole do not touch rule. I'm looking forward to a strong conclusion in book 3 where hopefully we'll see a way to break that rule and solidify their bond. Definitely recommend.

No one here is invincible, even if some are invisible. There's already doubt and distrust. And in moments of vulnerability, she finds kinship and what she hopes to be friendship. Unfortunately, she hasn't learned from her past. The betrayal one more has a deadly conclusion. She's lost so much. But it was worth it to save a life, a soul, and an image.

This series is mainly about shifters but with ghosts to add more to the story.

Although Wren is called a Wolf Weaver in the book, it is more about her ability to weave the ghosts attached to her. When one ghost starts to fade, Wren needs to find the lost anchor so that the ghost continues her existence. Plus there's Locke the local Alpha. The Wren/Locke connection is complicated and difficult to resolve.

I enjoy Aimee's books and the mix of paranormal creatures that she uses in her stories.

WEREWOLVES AND GHOSTS, Oh MY!
An Interesting combo of ghosts-ghost werewolves and werewolves. This is also a coming of age story about the realization of who you are and the talents you've been given and just what you're going to do to realize your full potential. In addition, what it takes to keep a relationship positively held together. Once again, Aimee has given us a thought provoking and fascinating story. This is my honest and candid review of my ARC. I recommend it. If you like to listen to your books, Grace Noble does a good job narrating, though her male voices need work to be separated from female voices.
