When lightning strikes a second time…

Years ago, when Taylor Cummings-Lonergan co-founded the Wild Widows with Iris, she never imagined she might need the group a second time, but that’s exactly what happens when her new husband, Will, is killed in a tragic accident at work, leaving her two children heartbroken for a second time and a new baby due soon. Iris and the other widows step up to support Taylor during this difficult time, but each of them is forced to ponder the vagaries of life and love and whether their optimistic approach to life after widowhood is realistic now that they know disaster can find them again.

We’ll catch up with each of the couples from the first four books and witness a new romance as it begins to take flight in this time of renewed grief for the Wild Widows.

5 Star Review Someone To Remember (Wild Widows #5) by Marie Force

Audio Review:
After the emotional read of the first several books in the series I was looking forward to listening to Someone To Remember but I was in no way prepared for this book.

From the moment I started this book I knew I was in for a long night.

This is Taylor’s emotional roller coaster of a listen and one I couldn’t put down once I started. It was a heartbreaking story that had me in tears from chapter one.

My emotions were all over the place whilst reading. My heart went out to Taylor for everything they have been through, it just about broke my heart.

The narration by Kit Swann and Lance Greenfield brought all the passion and drama of the story to lie for me and I am so glad that Ms. Force has decided to use a male narrator as well for this series.

My comments:

I loved this book such a lot, i've enjoyed this series a lot, I was introduced to this author after reading the green mountain series, then I read the tredding water series, however so far my favourite of the series I have read so far has to be the wild widdows. I plan to get to the faital and first family series in 2026 especially as their is a slight cross over however I don't believe you need to have read the fatal and first family series first as in the first couple of books in the wild widdows their is a lot of refferance to how Ronnie and Derrick first appeared.

This was easily the saddest and most emotional book of the series so far and in my opinion the best. What I loved the most was seeing how all the other widdows were affected by Taylor's situation and how it forced them to confront more of their pasts. I liked the fact we got to read all their POVs and the audio copy was fantastic as the two readers were able to give each characters part they read different voices so it was clear who's POV we were reading even thoe it was announced. Each widdo or couple took the news in different ways and I felt I was their with every single one of the characters from Taylor getting the news to Iris and Gage getting married. I felt the emotions of the characters and the two narrators especially the female reader brought all the characters emotions to life making me feel every single emotion they felt and made me want to continue reading to know what would happen.

The way the group stood up for Taylor even the ones who did not know her as well was lovely and I love following this group of friends. I love Kinsly and Luke and hope their story will develop in future books. I'm looking forward to Angela's story in 2026, I like the way the widdows stood up for her as well when needed and how her and luke have slotted into the group.

My favourite aspect of this book was seeing all the characters seperate reactions to Taylors loss and being able to get more insite into their own stories. This was such a fantastic emotional read and the author handled the subject matter with compassion and allowed us to really be with the characters. I already can't wait till the next book and really hope Angela and Brad can sort things out as I love their potential and hope Brad will finally check out the wild widdows.

From the perspective of a widow

I have been an avid reader of all series by Marie Force. The Wild Widows has become a favorite (Fatal/First Family absolute fav) because it resonates with me.

I love these stories that bring hope to anyone that has to walk this path. I’ve looked forward to the release of each & every one of them. How I wish there was such a group around me when I became a widow 13 years ago.

This particular story was gut wrenching at the beginning. Being a widow who has gone through the unthinkable (no matter what age); to take a chance on love again only to have it snatched away…. I just can’t imagine. I look forward to what’s next for Taylor.

Marie, in her fabulous way with story, kept you intrigued to want to follow through and see how this would play out with this wonderful group of friends. I couldn’t put it down even though I literally sobbed through some of it. The ending was definitely worth the emotional moments!

I can’t wait for Someone to Save. Hopefully it will be in earlier 2026?

WOW!

This book hits the emotions hard. The Wild Widows is a support group for younger people who have lost their spouses. They realize that having their marriages cut short, their futures and grief are different than those who lose their spouses later in life.
After losing her first husband and being widowed with two young children, Taylor finds love and happiness with Will. Tragedy strikes when Will dies in a work accident days before the birth of their baby. The group is in shock as they rally to help Taylor. It also plunges them back to the awful days after the death of their spouses. It also terrifies them as they realize the happiness they have all fought to have can be taken away again.
Marie visits all the characters from the previous books and how this death affects them individually. She ends the book with a happy, new beginning for two of the group. The beginning of the book was gut wrenching and difficult to want to read but I definitely recommend.

Another tragedy hits the Wild Widows. Taylor, one of the original founders, is called to the hospital to learn that her second husband Will has died in a tragic accident. Iris and Gage, as well as the rest of the Wild Widows, huddle around her to support her and help her.
Meanwhile, the death of Will hits everyone in the group hard and they have to face their fears of loosing another loved one. AND in all this sadness it’s also time for Iris and Gage‘s wedding, if they don’t decide to postpone because of Taylor’s loss and all the tragedy.
I love this series even though many of the topics are sad and heard. I definitely root for all the characters. But I didn’t really enjoy this one. I wasn’t sure who the main character was or if it was just a catch up with everyone. I don’t know. It just didn’t hit like the others.

This book started out so heartbreaking. Taylor was a young woman who had started a women's group with Iris for young women that had been widowed. She remarried and was very happy and her children loved her new husband. She was a month away from having a baby with her new husband when she gets devastating news. It rocked her group of women completely. All of them were brought back to their own news of a husband dying and having to start over.

The story was full of these men and women remembering the very hard times they went through while trying to help Taylor and each other.

It's a wonderful story that was sad at times and hopeful at other times.
Highly recommend.

WOW!! Bring a box of tissues to the chair while you read this!!!

I couldn’t read more than three or four chapters a day. I had to stop so that the swelling in my eyes could go down a little from all the tears that flowed! I honestly felt like I could feel the pain of every single character in the story, including the exceeding joy for Iris and Gabe and their children. The men in these stories really, really get it. They know just the right thing to say and do to be supportive and helpful. this is definitely another five star book!!!! Please don’t skip this one just because it has a lot of sad moments. You need the sad moments with the joyous moments in order to embrace the entire story.

Someone to Remember by Marie Force was a warm and satisfying return to a beloved series. It was especially nice to reconnect with past characters and see how their lives have continued to unfold. One of the most moving aspects of the story was witnessing how each character reacted differently as they processed their own grief when the spouse of a founding member of their group loses her husband, after already having lost her first. The varied responses felt authentic and emotionally resonant, highlighting how deeply personal grief can be. While the plot itself was fairly straightforward, the emotional continuity, sense of community, and heartfelt moments made this a comforting and meaningful read for longtime fans of the series.

If you've ever suffered loss or know someone who has, this entire series is a must read. Ms Force knows all the words to convey the depth of emotions felt by anyone touched by death. This book is packed with emotions both uplifting and sad but the word craft leaves the reader with a better understanding of how those feelings can shape not only their lives but those around them. The book shows that from the depths of despair can come love and treasured friendships. This series is a do not miss reading, this book especially.

Another hit in this series!

I love this series so much! Marie takes us on a roller coaster of emotions in this one, and does it seamlessly! You get all the wild widows updates in this, but it is more about part member Taylor and Will when the unimaginable happens to her. Not going into the details, you need to read and experience the emotions as things unfold! Don't worry it ends on a happy note for some! And a promise of more stories to come!
No matter how much Marie makes my heart hurt reading these stories, I can't stop and look forward to more. Grab it now!

What an emotional roller coaster! This story was beautifully written. My heart broke, in a million pieces, when Taylor became a widow for the second time. I cannot even imagine having to go through that kind of grief more than once. The way the Wild Widows come together to support her, and each other, was amazing. They all had a rough time dealing with this situation, understandably so. I love the hope and determination they all have to be there for each other for the highs and lows. I enjoyed getting updates on all the characters in this series.

Wow, Someone to Remember is another winner

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story line was a little difficult at first as I recently lost my husband. Taylor one of the founders of Wild Widows has remarried and is having a baby with Will. Another founder Iris is marrying Gage.
I could go on and tell you more and more about the story, but I won’t. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone.
I love the way that Marie in develops her characters. It feels like they could be your neighbors. This is a book that you will certainly enjoy from start to finish.

Someone to Remember

I was in tears from the loss that Taylor and the kids experienced when Will fell and was pronounced dead at the hospital to the last page of this story. The hurdles that the Widows deal with Daily is challenging to understand and comprehend but life goes on just as this story revealed. I think many of us have experienced loss in some degree and it’s been life changing. Retirement, loss of a mother, father, child, close relative or close friends that all were important and critical parts on our lives.

So sad and so much joy

Marie, you constantly amaze us. This series is so intense. There are so many moments of devastating sadness and so many moments of joy. This book most definitely gives us all the feels.

So sad for Taylor. How does one move on? Support of her family and friends is definitely a huge part of it. Marie writes this so well.

I love that Iris, Daddy Gage and the kids were finally able to tie the knot. Such a beautiful wedding.

This book was wonderful! It took me longer to read it because I had to stop and wipe my eyes. You could feel the heartbreak that Taylor was going through, but you could also feel the support from the other Wild Widows and that’s what makes Marie an awesome writer because you feel what the characters are going through. I have loved every book in this series and I look forward to reading about Angela’s story and finding out more about Taylor.

Wonderful Story
When tragic accident happens to Wild Widows Co-founder Taylor, it affects everyone in the group. It shows that horrible things can happen more than once to someone. Everyone rallies around Taylor and her children and soon to be born son. We're caught up on all the couples in the group. I liked how everyone was so helpful and involved with Taylor - even those who didn't know her well. I'm looking forward to the next Wild Widows book.

amazing book

Wow, what a rollercoaster of emotions. This Author has the uncanny knack for making you laugh but cry almost at the same time. This book had me crying so many times I had to put it down when I was out. But then in another scene, it would make me laugh out loud. I’m really looking forward to Angela and Brad story later in the year. I also can’t wait to see where Marie takes us in the future. The Audible Nair ration was absolutely superb.

Close to home

I have to say I didn't think I was going to make it through this book, as of March of 2025, I lost my husband of 31 years so this book made me cry many times over with several breaks. But Marie you hit on points that is true. For the ones that don't know what it feels like to lose a person you devote yourself to and love with everything in you keep, your comments to self. So true....
Love this book. Thanks.

Happy and sad

I love the Wild Widows! Their journeys break my heart but they teach me so much about being supportive and empathetic without spouting cliches when someone is experiencing one of life's many different tragedies. I laughed at their irreverent conversations and cry or fume with them through their daily moments of trials. Mostly, I enjoy seeing them grow from survival to thriving even with setbacks that arise with no warning. Marie Force, you go girl!

Wow great story!

I don’t know how she does it. This story made me cry and laugh. The feeling of knowing these characters is so real. Thank you Marie for bringing understanding to those who aren’t well versed in the grief of losing someone you expected to live your days with. I’m anxious and excited for Angela and Brad’s story. Do we really need to wait until 2026??????

Depressing in the best way

Omg this story had me in tears. It was so sad reading Taylor’s story and going through grief with her again. But in true Marie Force fashion there was still joy despite all the grief. The Wild Widows had to combat their own trauma while support Taylor’s through hers.

All. The. Feels!

Marie shared that this one had her by the throat from beginning to the very end. A very apt description since it had me by the throat with its gut-wrenchingly emotional storyline. I needed more than a few tissues along the way, but it was so worth it for the uplifting and promising end.
An absolute, hands down must read.

Someone to Remember is a beautiful and emotional addition to the Wild Widows series. This book and this series, more than anything, is about found family and true friendship as Taylor, one of the founding members of the Wild Widows, unexpectedly loses her second husband in a freak work accident. Not only does Taylor have to figure out her next steps and her future without Will, but as each member of the Wild Widows supports her, they're also hit with their own feelings of loss. While each book in this series requires at least one box of tissues, they are all beautiful stories of love, second chances, and above all, true friendship as the Wild Widows support each other each and every day.

All the emotions

This book breaks your heart with Taylor's unbelievable loss of Will, her Chapter 2. It sends shockwaves through the Wild Widows group in that the unimaginable can happen again. It also helps to heal your heart with Iris and Gage's wedding. I love how all the kids are incorporated into the stories. Another excellent book by Marie Force.
