Catie finds herself at a loss. She's frustrated, things that used to be important to her are not. She needs a change. So she runs away. Not just a little, but a lot. She goes to one of the Volmora Colonies and hides under a new identity. But she always finds trouble and she finds it here. A young woman falsely accused of theft, someone stealing from the landowners. Can she figure all this out without the aid of technology. I'm sure she can.
Bob Blanton has been an avid reader ever since his mother first took him to a library at age five. He has toyed with writing for years since college but was always too busy to start a novel. The "stone series" developed almost by itself as he was trying to sleep on long flights to Asia and Europe. He managed to write it and two follow-on novels while he was working, but never had the time to polish them. After he retired to the beach in Mexico, the only thing that competes with writing is the sound of the ocean and sunsets over the water. Now that he has published his series, he hopes you enjoy reading them as much as he has had writing them. Check back for other books as he continues to ply his new trade.
Now that he has published his series, he hopes you enjoy reading about Matthew and his developing powers as much as he has enjoyed writing about them.
This installment is quite different from previous chapters. Catie remains as resourceful and creative as usual, but the local scene has changed from the modern century to one just entering its Industrial Revolution. Human rights are layered, based on money and family, and life is structured to maintain that status quo. All said, this book was interesting and a creative use of Catie’s skills and tech, even if the length was shorter than anticipated.
Looks like the Delphi series is winding down? This book and the last two books are shorter and the stories are less complex. And the next book is probably going to be part two of this book, instead of completing the story in one book as with the earlier books in the series.
I think it would have been better for the readers if the series had ended with a really great book that had a memorable ending, than with what appears to be happening.
More books that are very short that don't compare to the depth of the core series. IMHO
A nice meal of fried chicken and mashed potato and gravy.
The McCormics are back with another satisfying read. Catie is just looking for a few quiet days out of the glare of the spotlights but intrigue just seem to find her. The Delphi series is one of my favorites, the writing is tight, the stories easily digested, and the characters amiable. Best of all, its on KU! so you can start from the beginning and read all 19 books without breaking the bank!
I would recommend this title to anyone who has enjoyed any book in the series. This particular book had a little less excitement and action than others in the series but it was still a very enjoyable read and very engaging. The only issue I had is that it took so long to come out. I finished reading Book 18 several months ago and have been waiting on pins and needles to find out what happened to the Princess .
This book of Catie running away from her Princess duties after her kidnapping was a very interesting entertaining read. She’s goes to a 1900’s planet with the oppressed women rights. Great Story
Enjoyed Catie’s “new” life and her adventures but this book needs editing, spelling, usage of correct words and substance versus constant conversations.
I’ve really enjoyed this series. Well written, and always goes in different directions with just enough Sci-fi to keep it interesting. I can hardly wait for the next one!
Catie is always in the right place at the right time. Great story I only had one problem with the book spelling errors your books normally don’t have any Just FYI They did interrupt the story just a bump in the road
Blanton did his usual excellent job of story spinning. I love the back story and the merging into a semi familiar context, ( the Golden Age era). Can't wait for the next.
An easy read. The plot moves quickly and is centered around Catie who is taking a break from being a princess. She escapes to another world and gets involved in several mysteries. A great story.
Too short. Also, doesn't meet the standard of previous books in this series. Very disappointing. Not sure if this author meant for this to be a novella. I ho
Another great read, keep them coming. One of few book series that I really enjoy reading the cast of characters are a real treat to keep up with. Thank you
This story is 180 out of synch with the previous 18. Catie is the same but way more mature (22yo). This more in line with a Sherlock Holmes story, which I’ve read and enjoyed. Now I am impatient for another.
