He took me on a deserted island. I gave him everything. And then he shattered me.

After weeks marooned in paradise, Rocco and I became inseparable—swimming in crystal lagoons, hiking through lush jungle, making love beneath the stars. With my sight finally healed and my heart completely his, I thought we were forever.

Turns out, I was wrong.

Because the moment we’re rescued, my dream turns brutal.

Rocco walks away—cold, controlled, and merciless. No explanations. No promises. Just heartbreak.

Back in New York, I’m a mess. Lost. Alone. But my story with Rocco isn’t over.

He has secrets—dark ones. Dangerous ones. His ex-mafia past isn’t behind him, and now I’m a target.

When the Russian mob comes for me, I expect pain. Maybe even death.

What I don’t expect… is Rocco.

The savage returns—furious, armed, and dead set on protecting what’s his.

And this time, he’s not letting me go.

A scorching second chance.
A mafia reckoning.
A love that refuses to die.
Blue Lagoon, but dirtier, darker, and way more dangerous.

I gave Savage Hate three stars because although the book had a few entertaining moments, I found it hard to stay invested. The characters felt inconsistent, and the constant conflict became repetitive rather than exciting. The relationship never fully convinced me, and the emotional beats didn’t feel earned.
There’s definitely an audience for this kind of high-angst romance, but personally, it just didn’t work for me.

ARC Review, thx Dani Da Silva

The second installment was somewhat better than the first, simply because there was more action and not just s@x. Although that only started after 40%.

Nevertheless, for me it's still not a mafia story or a dark romance.

It's a romance with a lot of eroticism.

The storyline itself makes little sense to me. Rocco was the only heir to a mafia don, but he hasn't been part of that family at all since he was 15. He lives completely legally and does good deeds. That's why I don't understand how he or his deceased fiancée ever came into the Bratva's sights. This is never explained. It also remains unclear what good deed Rocco ultimately did to appease his deceased fiancée's parents.

The mafia-related actions are only mentioned in passing. Rocco and his friends kill all the top male figures in the Bratva, and the reader only ever learns that another Russian has been killed. Very unrealistic.

All in all, the whole storyline could have been written in one book under the heading of erotica in the South Seas and romance.

ARC read, 2.5 stars
Well, this book wasn't entirely bad, but it wasn't good either. It starts in the middle of a scene, so we don't really know how this couple ended up on a deserted island or how they knew each other. Of course, the chemistry somehow develops, since they're alone on a deserted island, but there's no real connection. The characters are poorly defined, so you can't love them, but I can't say I disliked them. The story somehow flows, but we don't get any real plot. Some scenes are downright bizarre, though. I figure there will be some fans of the book, but unfortunately it wasn't for me.

Savage Hate starts out by having chaos and Savage surviving a plane crash. they're both marooned on an uninhabited Fiji Island. The story concentrates on the close proximity in paradise. You can just imagine how they spend their time together. Yes, you got it! It takes quite awhile to be rescued, but after they are rescued, the relationship changes. It's rough on them both when they get back to their own lives. There is alot of suspense and action then. I loved the ending of the story and you will too, very romantic.

I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

We’re on an island near Figi. We don’t know how far out or if anyone is looking for us. When the plan went down the transponder was damaged. Cairo’s eyes were damaged in the crash. We’re also naked since we had to lose the heavy clothes and footwear in our swim. Rocco has been taking care of everything. Luckily the temperature is warm, we have plenty of food sources and no predatory animals on the island. The biggest threat is the Russian mafia that want Rocco dead. They will do anything. They murdered his fiancé just to hurt him. Can he stay alive and protect Cairo?

Sparks fly in this part of the read, finally unable to avoid the intense chemistry these two give in and it is exactly what we thought, they are explosive together. Living on the island enjoying each other and their time, they learn to survive and thrive. When the rescue boats finally arrive neither one of them wants to leave, but they have to face life. Alot happens in this read, and these two will do anything to survive and get back to eachother. What a great read.

Great book! Cairo and the ever gruff ex Mafia man were very so done.

Cairo and Rocco are stuck on an island for a time, and things heat up but when Rocco returns to civilisation, he is estranged from her till danger comes.

Danger, so much danger, drama, romance and intensity make this a great book. I enjoyed the dynamic they established and even the estrangement.

Very well done. A great book!

Savage Hate absolutely wrecked me and then gently stitched my heart back together with fire and devotion.

Cairo’s pain is visceral. Every ounce of her heartbreak seeps through the pages, raw and unfiltered, and it’s impossible not to ache alongside her. You feel her confusion, her abandonment, her struggle to survive the moment Rocco walks away as if she meant nothing. And yet, even in his coldest moments, Rocco’s instinct to protect her never truly disappears. He fights their bond with every breath, but the connection between them is feral, unbreakable, and painfully inevitable.

When he returns, savage and relentless, the story ignites into something explosive. The tension, the danger, the tangled emotions, the hard truths — it all collides into a storm of passion and redemption that kept my heart racing. This isn’t just a second-chance romance, it’s a war between love and fear, loyalty and survival, past sins and a future they’re desperate to claim.

The progression of their relationship is stunning. The healing feels earned. The conversations are gutting. The choices hurt. And the way their journey comes full circle is deeply satisfying and powerful. Every struggle, every tear, every moment of doubt leads to an ending that feels not just deserved, but monumental.

Rocco and Cairo are unforgettable. Their love burns with intensity, obsession, and devotion so fierce it leaves a mark on your soul.

“She is worth it a thousand times.” And by the final page, you believe it with your whole heart.

Savage Hate is dark, emotional, scorching, and breathtakingly beautiful. A flawless, deeply moving conclusion that reminded me exactly why I love reading stories that consume me entirely. 💔🔥📖✨

Savage Hate by Dani Da Silva is book two in the Lombardi Mafia Series. This book did not disappoint, it picks up right where book one leaves off and the heat and spice! OMG! This book has action, spice and emotions! It’s a great read and if you like it really spicy with a great back story I definitely recommend this book.

Book two UGH.

This book was devastating and beautiful. Savage and Chaos finally give in and find their rhythm together before reality pulls things apart. This book gave me all the feels. I felt their love, pain, suffering, joy, and peace. Wonderful completion of the duet. Cannot wait to hear more about Luca too!!

I feel like for me this is another 3.5/4 like the first book. I felt like their ending was beautiful and gives you the closure on the couple that you are longing for after book 1. However the events felt a little more like a check list at times then a cohesive plot. I did enjoy the story and their cute ending

I enjoyed this book, it was so steamy, I had to stop so I could cool down a few times. A bit of roundabout plot where simple adult conversations would have sufficed but hey, kept the story going and we did love the heat in-between!

This book! If you want to feel all the emotions they feel, read the book!! I was mad, I was upset, and I felt hurt by what he did to her. This book even made me cry at one point. I understand why he did it. He did it to save her life. Read the book!

I loved the connection between Cairo and Rocco in the first half of the book. It’s pure, wholesome, and unexpectedly tender. Their ability to make lemonade out of lemons felt genuinely uplifting, and watching Cairo grow stronger — both physically and mentally — was one of my favorite parts of the story.

Even though they’ve built this amazing life together, their fears linger quietly in the background. Rocco’s trauma makes him terrified of losing her, while Cairo fears losing everything they’ve created. As the book progresses, both of those fears come true, leading to a completely new and emotionally charged dynamic in the second half.

My heart ached for Cairo — her pain is raw, honest, and impossible not to feel. And Rocco’s instinct to protect her never fades, even when he tries to distance himself. He fights their connection, but the pull between them refuses to loosen its grip, no matter how hard he tries.

This was a fantastic close to the duet. The way the story progressed — the tension, the emotion, the healing, the hard conversations, the choices — all of it built to an ending that felt earned and meaningful. I love where the characters ended up and how their journey came full circle in a way that made every struggle worth it.

And yeah, she is worth it a thousand times. Nothing in the world matters to me if I don't have her.

I received this as an ARC and am leaving this review voluntarily.
