Dimenticando me.
Solo io ricordo la verità.
E devo farli tornare à sé prima che sia troppo tardi.
Ci avviciniamo, spinti dal nostro legame…
Ma i nostri ruoli nous oppongono.
Insegnante e studente. Ribelle e direttore.

I don't understand the purpose of books 5-7 in this series. The author takes a resolved story and instead of creating a new plot with the same characters, take the same characters and makes all of them FORGET each other (except the girl). It's just depressing.
1 star. Review for books 5&6. Okay I don’t know what to do. I’m questioning my ratings of the first 4 books now. Were they really good or was I in some drug induced haze? It’s been a while since I read them. I picked up book 5 because I thought I loved the first 4. The first 4 books represent a closed series originally and due to the success of the books I think the author kept going and started a new adventure! Book 5 did not impress. Noting about Lera and her males appealed all of a sudden. She acts without for-thought or any kind of rational mind. The sex scenes feel like they were put in there because the author had to meet her sex scene quota or something. They are completely out of place and a little ridiculous sometimes. But mainly Lera gets on my nerves constantly. I decided to stick it out (because kindle unlimited) but regretted it pretty soon. I skimmed most of the seks scenes and ridiculous interactions between the main characters. Until Lera is asked to whip River (on the arm) with a switch as punishment for his mistake. I know without the context it’s a little difficult to place but trust me in the book it is equally preposterous. Here I thought Lera would make a stand. Her, the girl who has continuous nightmares about being whipped in her past. Who despises it to the core of her soul... gave in under pressure (River said he deserved it for his mistake) and did it anyway. This is where I wanted to set the book on fire and erase its existence from my mind. To bad I read on a kindle. In short, books 5 and 6 of the series are not worth the paper they are written on. I might have to reread the first 4 to make sure I was sound of mind when I rated them.
Why did I wait so long to read the Great Falls Academy series? Well that’s an easy answer.. most authors just do not do justice to a second series featuring their amazing characters, But I should have known that I had nothing to worry about when it comes to Ms. Lidell. Cadet is AMAZING. though you could read Cadet without having read Power of 5, I HIGHLY recommend you read it first to get an understanding of just what a quint is and to really understand these 5 characters and how they’ve come to be not only the top quint, but mates.
In Cadet, Lera loses her quint and mates to magic she is yet to understand. My heart is absolutely broken and cries for Lera’s loss. Ms. Lidell is so great with words that I could FEEL the loss of the mate bond right along with Lera. With her loss of mates, Lera also loses a bit of that self confidence that she has worked so hard to gain. I hate seeing her walking around, doubting the love that her and her males have worked so hard on building. But don’t worry guys, even with her doubts, our take no shlt, willing to do what needs to be done Lera is never far away. When push comes to shove, Lera will always fight for what is right and our quint’s Weaver finally starts to realize exactly what it’s going to take to right what has gone so horribly wrong.
I cannot wait to see what happens next as Lera keeps working to fix this magical mishap and keep the human world safe.
I was really hesitant to start the Great Falls aspect of the series. I had loved the original series so much, and to be honest this one didn't sound very interesting. But I pushed through and read it, and I don't regret it. While it was completely different, it was still nice.
Lera didn't do crap in this one. She whined about her guys, griped at Gavriel, and just went along with her classes like nothing was wrong. She didn't even think to question where the mysterious rune came from. Like girl, runes don't just show up out of nowhere. Someone had to have put it there! All the progress she made from becoming a bad ass warrior just went down the drain with this one. She's back to being the helpless girl who can't do anything by herself. Smh
Basic premise: Lera and the gang go on a mission and have to be undercover in a school, pretending to be humans. But, disaster strikes and due to magic stuff, the men lose all their memories off Lera and of the fae and everything, and think themselves to be human. They're also in a school type environment.
I mean... its good. It's just... we've come so far, and it gets all thrown away. All these character arcs, all their bonds, all the beauty and misery and specialness and love gets thrown out the window. At first I was like ooooo wow tragedy, that's crazy, but I kind of expected them to get their memories back. But they don't. At least, not in this book, and idk about the next but it doesn't show signs of it happening. And honestly, that really sucks. It's like it was all for nothing.
The book ends where the goal is to.... honestly, I don't even know. I guess get to know them all over again but that's irritating bc we already did that, and its like, I wouldn't have read the other 4 books if I thought it would literally all be for nothing. It feels like a whole new story, not a continuation, and maybe that's really cool for some, but I didn't really vibe with it. It just frustrated me. And in this book specifically, literally 0 progress is made. Nothing really HAPPENS. It's just a bit depressing, frankly.
But I mean, I still love these characters so I'm willing to keep reading till the end and I hope that they do regain memories and soon bc this... thing... that's happening isn't fun. I don't want to get to know them all over again. I've done that already.
Edit: actually, I just didn't really like the direction this series was going and dropped the series here.
You're going to want to tap that buy now button ASAP!!!!
I read these as individual books before this set was released.
These are brilliantly written books. An adictive story that keeps you turning those pages at an alarming rate.
Leras story is brilliant. It's been a pleasure joining her and the Quint through so many trials and fun.
Alex's writing style is brilliant. She has this way with words and this steamy imagination. The book has depth the character's are developed superbly well. The magical world i loved. The Reverse Harem is to die for quite litterelly...! These are so many hot steamy scenes.
I really can't recommend this more. If you haven't yet joined Lera's story you really must.
And whats even more fabulous that these are all released and ready to read, no waiting for the next book. But you also have the first part of leras story and her guys in the first part of their thrilling journey that i can tell you is pretty amazing. These are "The Power Of Five" again absalutely brilliant.
5 stars and more if i could. Loved every word of these wonderful books.
This book was such a disappointing turn in this series. I don’t understand how you can spend 4 books building worlds, characters and relationships and then just throw it all away. This book felt like suffering. I couldn’t stand to watch this new dynamic and a reeling Lera after reading 4 books of the Quint’s growth and love for each other. Tbh it made me feel a little sick. Especially watching Lera getting put back into really triggering situations where she’s once again powerless. This was simply way too much angst for me with no resolution. I skimmed the next two books to know the ending but honestly it’s not worth your time. Spare yourself the sadness and pretend that this series ended in book four!!!!
Read on KU under title 'Veil of Memory'. Books 5-7 are the same characters from books 1-4 having a new adventures and facing new battles. It was a fun idea, entertaining and lots of graphic spice.
I've already ready this book, it used to be part of a separate series, but the Goodreads site still has the series listed separately and they don't tally up with the listings on Amazon. So if you've read the Great Falls Academy series, then you have already read this book. Thankfully, I didn't buy this, I picked it up on KU, because I already own it. Please could you sort your Goodreads listings out Alex, and make it more clear that you've merged two series? The story itself is brilliant, and really intricate in the twists and turns. I gave it 5 stars when I read it the first time.
This is a truly amazing adventure now If you have read the Power of Five then all you need to know is this takes place 6 months later and you need to get it! Lol end of review for you lol For everyone else I'll tell you more about it. Like it say this story will be in episodes you get 3 in this book and continues the story so there will be chiffhangers but the storyline is amazing and the authors writeing fantastic. This story is about Lera or Leralynn she used to be mortal and from the mortal realm until her fae man came for her now she is an immortal fae all that is in the series power of five. An amazing series too. She became part of a sanctioned quint the other four fae warriors and all her men are River who is king, Shade a wolf shiter and healer, Tye a tiger shifter and Coal. All immortal and very powerful. Together they are the most powerful quint ever. They have been told that the mortal realm is in danger . The protection wards are cracking. There job is to find out why and stop it. In the mortal realm they will not have here powers. All they will have is the chameleon veils. It will give them id's and make them look like humans not fae. There are some bad things with it they will not feel Thier bonds and they must take off the veil every day or it will take them over making the forget who they Realy are. So off to the mortal realm they go only on the way there something happens . She is separated from them when she come to and get to great Falls academy alone. Everything has changed and she is the only one that remembers the mission and who they really are. When she finds them River and Coal want to make her leave the academy because they can't handle her being they. Tye is a big flirt always around a human princess that thinks she owns him. The only good thing that's happened is while shade doesn't remember her his wolf does. Only when he changes back to human form he thinks he lost time. So no help there.Leralynn I really having a hard time with all of this. Did her men ever love her was it just the magic? Without them around she is getting into more and more trouble, thing are getting worse and time is running out. What's is she going to do? Love the characters, drama, mystery, intrigue, action and more This story has. It's amazing.the next Volume will hold 3 more so. I have read them as singles already and OMG wow they are not to be miss to. Voluntarily reviewed I love this series and getting them is audible too. What an amazing adventure with spice too
Man what happened to this series?? Technically book 4 could be the end of the series, and it has a happy ending. But I was excited to keep reading because I really love the characters and their dynamic with each other. Now flash forward to this book and all 4 of the males FORGOT WHO LERA IS??! Like they basically went back to square one except it wasn’t good in any way. I could handle it if Lera fixed the problem by the end of the book, or they started to remember her, but like nothing even really happened?? After the bond they all have was established? No solution was even hinted at. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to continue reading the series, but this book fell really flat compared to the first 4 books.

The ending was pretty good. I mean I would have loved to put that princess in her place. I probably would have knocked her block off, but I'm all about brute force as opposed to set a little glitches here and there.
It's obvious each of the guys recognize her, just a different storyline of her. So their souls know her. They just don't understand how.
I can't wait till they find out that they've had a fae in their nips the entire time. Besides the obvious. Hello shade.
And is it just me, or does anyone else think that maybe Sage is a little bit more than what he seems to be?
I am getting frustrated though.
I'm not going to take a star away though. Normally I would.
However what is irking me is the fact that when it is lera's turn to narrate, she talks in the first party. I, me, my.
When it is anyone other than her, it's his / hers, their, them. They're talking in the third party.
I forget what that's called in the author world. I vaguely remember something from my literature classes when I was in high school and in university. But for some reason I can't grasp the words. But I can tell you it is annoying as F U C you know what.
And I have noticed that is the same way through all of the books that I've read so far in this series. I have to wonder if that's just how the author writes in general. Meaning all of her books.
I really wish I could get a message to the author, and express my concern about this. Because if you're going to share a point of view then it should be me, i, etc.
Not like it's being narrated by somebody else. Does that make sense? Anyway it's just really frustrating.
Thank God I love the series, huh? And by association that means I'm falling for the offer as well. So therefore I'm not going to take any stars away for that faux pas.
Point is, I love this series. And I'm having fun with it. Anything else is just noise. I absolutely love this series lol.
Hi to any of my followers that are reading this update/review, and hello to the author.

Always start with the positives: I was really into them. They were fun to read and I'm sad not to spend any more time with them. The heroes are very distinct characters with personalities and backstories and identifiable voices and I really liked them all. The world is very fun and not just a standard version of Faerie. Honestly, 4.5 stars if purely based on enjoyment.
But on to the negatives:
I'll be upfront: the writing in the first book is bad. Dialogue is unrealistic and cringe, the characterization of Lera is all over the place, and the pacing is truly terrible - particularly the pacing of the relationships. It does get better as the series goes on. All three issues even out the further into the series, thankfully. Unfortunately they do continue to call them 'her males' until the end of time, though, so just make peace with it.
The last three books - when the writing is on more solid footing - are like an entirely different series? In which the plotting is better I guess but also more frustrating narratively. Things dragged on too long and the whole point of reading reverse harem - the harem - is missing so it's a real shift from the first four. Maybe even just stop at the 4th, honestly.
But why, why are Lera's chapters in 1st person present tense and 'the males' voices in 3rd person past tense? It's bad and confusing and adds nothing, but Lidell sticks with it all the way through the series.
Also Leralynn is a stupid name and jarred me every time.
1st reading: The excellent writing continues in part five (!) of The Power of Five series. While the plot is compelling and the ever-increasing tension and peril - and potential heartbreak - facing our quint keeps us turning the page, I can't help but feel that this storyline indicates an unwillingness on the part of the author to say goodbye to her characters. This in itself isn't a bad thing; as a reader, I don't want to say goodbye to them either. But as compelling as the plot is, it still feels a bit contrived. The five of them essentially find themselves in the world's equivalent to a military academy for college-age mortals, with River, Coal, and Shade members of faculty, Tye the star athlete, and Lera the newest student. To complicate matters, Lera is the only one who remembers anything about who she is and their mission. And there's been a rash of Salem Witch Trial-esque executions of people being falsely accused of consorting with the fae, which of courses poses a great risk to Lera (and the others) as she attempts to restore her mates' memories and figure out how the magic is leaking into the mortal world. So yes, I can't help but keep reading because I want to be sure our five make it out of danger safely, but... really? The situation they find themselves in just feels a tiny bit forced in order to explore much the same territory we did the first time around. (Though I will admit there are intriguing nuances that distinguish plot one from plot two.)

Alright, the last 10% of the book always being previews are a little much but I’m also beginning to expect them cause of the consistency but hey, since I’m using KU, I really shouldn’t whine.
This is a new “series” in the Power of Five series and when I first saw it I. Was. So. Excited. I LOVE the concept of a chapter 2, of a next level, of getting to actually BE AROUND when the characters grow after their initial HEA. I never want it to end. Lol.
I actually appreciate Lera’s personality now tenfold and I actually don’t struggle to remember her name anymore. It took five books but I’m finally here for the whole thing. I’d even push my friends to keep reading it if they hadn’t already (whole reason why I’m here in the first place lol).
I love the story plot, the issue and dire solutions that can’t seem to turn better no matter how optimistic we get. And Lera actually questions the one thing I’ve been irritated with not knowing: what if what the five of them have is just the magic? GASP!!!!
Needless to say I had fun, there’s hot sex and moments of the guys being their usual self and not. Fun, exciting, sad and if you don’t zone out at least once to daydream after something you just read, you’re doing something wrong.
Wow I am so disappointed. I just spent the last week devouring this series, and while it was not the most amazing thing I'd ever read, it was highly enjoyable.
In come book 5, where pretty much everything I liked about the book is ruined. I hate HATE memory loss tropes. Even when they are done well, they still bother me, and this book did not do it well. I DNF'd so fast, I just knew this was going to be so unsatisfying. And based on reviews I read of the next 2 books, I think I made the right call.
I'm sad, because I really enjoyed books 1-3 and was hoping to read more about the quint, but this book basically ripped the quint away along with all the progress they've made. On top of that, it removed all the fae elements I loved. I honestly just don't understand that choice. If I wanted to read an academy book, I would've picked up a series set in an academy.
Also, side note, hate the FMC's name. It's giving Southern church girl. Every time one of the MMCs says it all I can hear is a Southern twang, which just doesn't really fit the vibe. Lera, on its own, would have been great.

*Spoiler Alert* Cadet incorporates all the first three books of Great falls Academy books in one. Cadet continues on from The Power of five books following Lera (FMC) and the rest of her Quint - River, Coal, Shade & Tye. When they are given a task to investigate a crack leading back to the human world which leads to the Quint going undercover in Great Falls Academy. Which brings with it even bigger problems when River, Coal, Shade and Ty losing all memories of who they are, why their at the academy and more importantly Lera. It leaves it to Lera to find out whats going on. Its brilliant spin now that the Quint are in effect getting back to getting to know each other. I loved Leras character in the Power of 5 books. She was a strong character in those books but in this series she seems to have grown in confidence. Which she's had to do because shes basically on her own for most of the books. Just a great read
I was really enjoying this series: books one through four were pretty solid, but then the author did what I absolutely hate, she decided to have the vast majority of characters forget who they are. This plot twist is always so boring. And book 5 does not disappoint with the boring; all of the character development that has taken place up to this point is removed, so that the main character can once again earn the love of the men she had already earned the love from in the previous books of the series. To me, when an author tries this out, it’s because they ran out of ideas, but they like the characters they’ve previously created. This way, they get to explore plot twists and tangents that would not have been possible otherwise, but for the reader, it is a lot of repetition. I’m going to read book six of the series, but I spent most of book 5 in frustration and it dragged.
The author started a completely new arc after tying up the loose ends from the last one. The five decide to accept a mission in the humans' world to fix the broken magical divide as more hellish creatures managed to breach it and feast on humans. For some unknown reasons, the best scouting place is a college for the privileged. As this is a fantasy setting there is not technology or plumbing. Something goes terribly wrong with their magical disguise and the men forget entirely about Lera and they can't feel the magical connection between all of them. So she has been left alone to deal with their outright punishing and bully behavior. I felt personally hurt by Coal unusual and painful torture and then by his actions to still have sex with her. But never, ever hug her. I wish to see them groveling at her feet when they discover how bad were they treating her.
This did NOT go as planned. The amulets Autumn made form Lera and the men were great in theory. However, once back in the mortal realm, things quickly fell apart. The noise Lera heard when they came out of the forest, the fall from her horse, the men disappearing. It couldn’t have turned into a bigger cluster if they had actually tried. What ever happened when Lera broke the rune stone in the forest floor has caused the men’s amulets to somehow imbed themselves, ensuring they can’t remove them as they were instructed to do. Therefore, the false memories of the amulet has overtaken their real memories. Meaning they don’t have a clue why there’re at the academy or who Lera is to them. This means Lera is on her own, trying to figure out the best way forward. I can’t wait to see what happens next…and if she can reverse the amulets magic.
Starting a new adventure for the Five, they travel to the non-magical realm and everyone but Lera loses their memories. I enjoyed how the males had new characters that leaned on their history. This allowed for some fun and interesting interactions between them and Lera.
Living the everyday life of a student in the Academy was interesting, but I found Lera was silly with her choices and wasn't quite in character with how she was in the previous four books. However, I wonder if maybe her character was changed a little too when the tablet was shattered, which would explain the differences.
Happy to continue with the series even though the best part of the series is the relationships between Lera and her males, which are not present while they aren't 'her' males, as they don't remember.
So I started book one with no idea what I had gotten myself in to. I read all 7 book in two days. I just couldn’t put it down. The storyline is one that is in the days of horses and Lords and Masters and Peasants. Lera Lynn is a horse hand for an abusive Master. When one day 4 Fae ride into her life. She is to complete their Quint. But a human has no powers so how can she save the new world she finds herself in... their journey throughout the 7 books are of growth, challenge, evil, manipulation, and trust. It’s definitely worth the money and time. The characters are amazing and the author does a great job of building their past into their present and the impact on them as a quint.
There's a lot of negative reviews of the next 2 books. I get it. My book soul was in pain through both of these! However, I love what the author did! Now Lera will never doubt if it was just the magic that held her quint together or if they all truly loved each other. Also, Lera needed to learn for herself how strong she was in her own right. She would have never been able to literally demand respect the way she did if she hadn't had to do it herself. It's a truly gifted author that can make their readers feel so passionately about their characters and Alex did this magnificently! Yes, it's uncomfortable to read this chapter of our heroes story after we got the original happy ending but it makes the story so much fuller!
Technically, this was a re-read, so I took my time and enjoyed it even more than the first time!
Volume 1 of the sequel to the original series has Lera on her first mission since completing her training as a member of her Quint. She and her immortal males are returning to the mortal world to "fix" a breach in the magic there. Too bad Autumn's magical amulets work too well. Now, Lera is on her own. She has to remain undercover, keep her males safe (even though they don't remember her), and complete the mission. And, magic arrives to the Academy where they're all residing at.
I would give this 3.5 stars actually. Overall, the book is interesting, with lots of adventure and a good pace. The major issue I had was the portrayal of the female MC. Why do authors make female MCs into bumbling clumsy idiots that keep screwing up just to create roadblocks or plot twists in the story? Very frustrating. I’m pretty sure an author can move a story along through other means than the female lead being a screwup. I know this is true because I have seen other authors manage it. Huge eye roll. And who trips or startles as much as this character? And yet she’s supposed to be a trained warrior?
Trigger warnings are important. We all know, for the most part, what we’re going into while reading a book of this nature.
A waterboarding scene, however, caught me so off guard that it’s making me spiral.
Just… let’s consider complex trauma. That’s all I’m saying. Warn ya girl next time.
*after reading other reviews, I am justified in that I think this book sucks. (: *
Also just another update: manyyyyyy moments were a direct ToG ripoff. Gavriel the uncle? Goodbye. Torture scenes? Goodbye. The blinks? GOOD. BYE. I’m done. I’m finishing this series out of spite alone.

The human them is being threatened with a breach in the veil. Rivers quint has been charged with dealing with the problem by going there and neutralize the issues. They were given amulets to alter their appearance. They will seem as normal humans. Lera has been reborn a fae warrior.
But something happens when they get beyond mystwood. Something horrible. Everything changes, which leaves Lera alone. What? You might want to know. Read to find out.
