A road trip takes a terrible turn when Gérard, Marcus, and Hira find themselves facing an unknown enemy deep in the Appalachian Mountains. This story is included in SPKS S' Campfire Collection Volume One.
Tabitha Winters is a practicing LMHC with a master's degree in clinical psychology and a PhD in sarcasm. A sought-after lecturer on the psychology circuit, she currently works within her state's mental health litigation division, and before she knew better? She served as co-leader of the Murderer's Support Group, which is exactly as glamorous as it sounds. To hear Tabitha speak more about herself in the third person, please visit her website.
Gifted author Tabitha Winters unleashes her third SPKS Campfire story and, just like the previous two, this is a non-canonical tale featuring characters from the SPKS Universe. Marcus, Hira, and Gerard not only get lost in Appalachia, but when their car breaks down, things go from bad to worse. There's something creepy out there and they are about to encounter it. And it gets wild from there. As Winters is known to do, she populates this short read with characters who are both quirky and fun. It's a great take on a classic Horror trope with a twist. And lots of Pop Culture Easter eggs that makes the ride that much more enjoyable. Winters manages to put the reader directly into the action and suspense and, although you think you know where it's going, you really don't. It is the perfect story for fans of her full-length novels as you get to see these familiar characters in this weird dreamscape. Her style is perfect and her love of all things Horror shines through here. Winters is such an exceptionally talented writer who has created some of the more memorable characters seen in Thrillers in some time and it's obvious that her best work may be yet to come. A talented young author with so much more in the tank, folks should be along for the ride for some time to come. I, for one, love this tale and cannot wait to see what the next offering has in store!
