Blade 33, Blade thrower, member of the Shadow Vipers biker gang. Oh, and sexy as sin.
Being part of a biker gang means living a certain kind of lifestyle. Men need to be tough, rugged, and always on the prowl. For the most part, I live up to that expectation. Women constantly throw themselves at me. What can I say, I’ve got the attitude and the goods that women desire. My only weakness? A five-foot-ten, mouthy twink who also happens to be our leader’s younger brother. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t stay away. I watch him and follow him—yes, some may consider this behavior borderline “stalker,” but I like to think of it as making sure my friend is safe and protected. I know I have to ignore my feelings because if his brother ever found out… I’d be a dead man.
Ace 25, outspoken, bossy, and searching for love. Oh, and I’m the younger brother of Marcus… the leader of the Shadow Vipers.
My brother is a bully! No one will date me because they’re worried about what my brother might do if they ever break my heart. Yes, he’s my older brother and also the leader of the Shadow Vipers biker gang, but that doesn’t give him the right to scare off every potential guy I go out with. Argh, this is so frustrating. If only I could be with the man I really want, but unfortunately, he’s friends with my brother… and I don’t want him to die.
Content Violence, alcohol, past physical and emotional abuse, foul language, and, of course, loads of hot and steamy scenes.

“Ride ‘Em Hard” bar is in Baton, New Mexico and owned by Marcus the leader of the Shadow Vipers MC gang. Ace is his younger brother by marriage. At the age of sixteen Marcus not only became a brother but a father figure to three year old Ace. As their parents didn’t want to deal with parenthood, it was all up to Marcus. But he and Ace survived and Marcus is still protective of twenty-five year old Ace. All the Vipers worked for Marcus at the bar and had more serious jobs to do for him. They dealt with: drugs, weapons, rare antiquities and some unique items, anything for a price. Marcus at the age of forty, was a fair boss but he had a reputation. He partied with the best of them but no one dared got on his bad side. One thing for sure they were all family.
Blade Corrigan is an expert blade thrower. He learned at the young age of thirteen, traveling with the Winter Brothers Circus. His father Bruce performed for fifteen years with the circus and eventually they became a father/son act. But Blade’s father was mean and had anger issues toward life and his son. Bruce wasn’t liked by the thirty circus people. When Theon Winter the owner/ring leader of the circus praised Blade for his knife throwing talent his father wasn’t happy. He could see himself being replaced by Blade. As a teenage boy, he found himself experimenting with another boy. Unfortunately for Blade his father caught them and he kicked Blade out. Blade was filled with anger at his father for not understanding and the boy who ran off. Even now he’s kept his secret to himself for fear others would never understand. He found a new family in Marcus and the Shadow Vipers and he would hold on to his secret forever.
Ace loves his big brother Marcus, whose done so much for him. But Marcus is still treating him like a child. At twenty-five Ace is looking for someone special. But dating is hard when your older brother will shoot someone in the face. He sees Lucas and Caden and he want’s what they have. Ace is enthusiastic, snarky and definitely can hold his own around any of the big burly bikers. Lately he’s had his eye on the “straight” Blade, and the angel/demon tattoo on his back.
Blade’s also had an eye-out for Ace, for a very long time. When he finds that Ace has a date and Marcus doesn’t seem too concerned he decides to follow Ace. Ace looks bored to him and when his date gets just to handsy Blade steps-in. Ace has a lot to say to Blade, as Ace can take care of himself. Now with no ride home he would have to ride with Blade. As their friendship starts to grow, have they possibly made a mistake? Blade doesn’t want to loose Marcus and the family and he certainly doesn’t want to face Marcus’s wrath.
When Marcus gets a call from a former Viper, Chester Milzner., they’re off to Vegas. Milzners son Steven was found dead in the desert with a four inch blade in his left eye. Ace reserves rooms for the guys and he and Blade wind up sharing one, and that leads to some hot discoveries. Now, they have to watch out for Marcus. Marcus brings Blade and Ace crime scene photos to look into and they head to the scene. Blade sees something in the photos and keeps it to himself. Later when he’s by himself he goes looking for the Cyanyd Kings. Things turn into a brawl when Marcus catches Ace and Blade in their hotel room. Blade is conflicted and leaves the Vipers, the only family he knows. Blades not answering his phone as he figures out what to do, until he get’s a call from Lucas. The news isn’t good as Ace is missing and Blade finds himself up against an evil and insane enemy. Just what does this madman want of Blade? What will happen when the Vipers go up against the Cyanyd Kings?
Matthew Dante brings the heat and danger with the second installment of “Bikers of Mayhem” with “Hidden Desires”. “Hidden Desires” is not only exciting but it brings out a little more of the dark side with Blade. He’s definitely tougher and his expertise with blades makes him very dangerous. He’s also not open to sharing much about himself. Ace brings out the fun side to Blade and the calm he needs. It’s hard to not like Ace with his enthusiasm, caring for all the Vipers and his strength, as he grew up around all the tough bikers. He has a great respect for Marcus, not only in the brotherly sense but as a fatherly figure. Marcus has the need to protect Ace and he would always think of him as a kid. It’s an understanding that both of them have a heart to heart about.
Along with Marcus, Ace and Blade the Vipers return with: Caden and Lucas; Nikolai, Jake and Alexis; and Midas. They also meet Raz the leader of a Latin/Asian gang.
I highly recommend “Hidden Desires” in the “Bikers of Mayhem” series. With Blade and Ace this second installment just made the series better. The first book is “Primal Urges” where Marcus and Ace; Caden and Lucas make their introductions. I expect this series will become more exciting with more darkness to it. Matthew Dante has a book three in the works, so it will be interesting to see whose up next.
This is a brother’s friend to more romance, featuring Ace and Blade, and is book two in the Bikers Of Mayhem series.
Blade is secretly in love with Ace, the gang leader’s younger brother, but acting on it could get him killed. Ace wants Blade too, but his brother makes being together impossible.
This is a fast paced, steamy forbidden story with lots of pining and tension. Blade and Ace’s chemistry is strong, and I loved how much they both crushed hard on each other. I’m really enjoying this series.
Things to expect in this book are: Book 2 in series MM romance Brother’s friend Small age gap (33/25) Biker gang Secret pining Protective Mild stalking Sexy dare Spicy times First times Secret relationship Getting caught Kidnapping & rescue Hurt / Comfort Found family HEA
Matthew Dante takes his Bikers of Mayhem series to another level in Hidden Desires, book 2 in this brilliant series.
There's a forbidden relationship, heat, desire, so much laugh-out-loud humour and crazy antics, and a found family of wonderful characters. You'll be entertained from start to finish.
Ace and Blade are incredible together. These two have been fighting their feelings for years. Whilst Ace never exactly hid his attraction to the burly biker, Blade was hiding his sexuality after past trauma and loyalty to his boss, Marcus, Ace's brother.
But eventually, thanks to a dare that changes everything, these two can't deny their feelings and give into the palpable chemistry between them, and let me tell you, they are absolute fire together!
But with danger and threats around them as they hunt for the murderer of a former Shadow Viper's brother’s son, these two have more obstacles than just Marcus objecting to their union...
Hidden Desires is absolutely action-packed with all sorts of entertaining antics and battles - and sweet little Lucas from book 1 leads the charge, he's absolutely taken to biker life like a duck to water, and he's hilariously crazy 🤪 the things he does here just had me rolling with laughter 🤣 I love him so much!
But there are also tender moments between our guys and some moments where I literally gasped out loud for fear for our boys. And there were deeply emotional times, where my heart hurt for young Blade, while I also had tears in my eyes from sweet moments between Ace and his brother.
We see a vulnerable side to knife-throwing, cocky Blade. Underneath it all, he's filled with a fear of abandonment and of not being good enough or worthy of love. His character arc was wonderfully written.
And Ace didn’t have great parents either, but the relationship between he and his brother shows the power of love and support in life.
Matthew Dante perfectly weaves together fun, danger, spice, and sweetness to create a fantastic world and amazing characters.
I love this series, and I can't wait to see where it takes us next! I keep trying to guess who’ll pair up next in the crew, but I have no idea. My money is on either Nikolai or Marcus. Whoever it is, I know it'll be a fun journey!
This is the second book in the Bikers of Mayhem series. I’m trying to decide how to review this story. I’m not sure how I could get attracted to these main characters. They are not who I’d probably want to take home to the family yet they got me emotionally involved in the story.
Neither main character had close to a normal childhood. Yet surprisingly both became a part of a “family”.
Blade, having been raised as the son of a carnival member, learned a skill only useful to gangs. After he has an argument with his dad, he is left to live on the street. Luckily a situation brings him in contact with Marcus, Shadow Vipers crew leader. This gives him bff’s and a group where he belongs. No one knows he is gay and he tries to keep it that way believing that it wouldn’t fit the image of the gang members. He has been attracted to Ace but is afraid of losing his friendship with Marcus and being tossed out of the Shadow Vipers
Ace is Marcus’s younger step-brother. Their parents are not the upstanding pair you’d want. They leave the guys alone more often than not. Marcus assumes responsibility for Ace and becomes more a father figure than a brother. Ace is part of the Shadow Viper group and Marcus maintains watching over him so Ace is protected even when he doesn’t want it. Ace has had a crush on Blade for a long time and is dissuaded by Blade’s escapades. He does a lot of bragging about his one night activities and nothing leads Ace to think Blade would be attracted to him.
The path that leads them together is really entertaining and nerve racking. I enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next story.
This book is so romantic!! Author Matthew Dante outdid himself with this absolutely beautiful book.
Blade is kind of crazy! He loves his knives, loves being a wild man, and partying. Only he’s not enjoying the partying too much anymore. He wants something different. Ace is an out and proud biker who has a crush on Blade. He knows the straight biker isn’t for him, so he keeps dating and looking for his special someone.
I absolutely adore this book! There is something special about both Blade and Ace. Blade has a past, one he doesn’t share with his brothers in the club. He has so much fear and longing in him, it was sad to read. Ace is different. Since he thinks Blade is straight, he is trying really hard to move on from his crush. He looks at his bestie Lucas and boyfriend Caden and just wants that connection for himself. To me this book is a mixture of pining, romance, and lust. There are multiple threads going on at the same time: Ace & Blade, Blade & his past, and Chester’s story. I love that the story is more than romance, more than the club. It’s catchy, it moves quick, and you just want to finish it fast. I’m already wondering who’s next? It’s gotta be Nikolai. Hopefully, we’ll get a hint soon.
* I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.*
💕 In true Matthew Dante style, this book delivers loving characters who do bad things, hilarious banter, and spicy romance. I’ve been looking forward to Ace’s story since we met him in book 1. The protected little brother of the big crime boss. Openly gay and 100% accepted. No one messes with the little bro.
Ace is desperate for a special someone. But with protective big bro on the lookout, and the gang of Shadow Vipers, who would dare date him? Ace is such a fun character. He’s funny, playful and a little bit naughty. Okay, a whole lot of naughty.
We don’t get a lot of Blade in book 1, but his expertise with knives is sexy as sin 😂 The friendship between him and Ace is a lot of fun. They’d do anything for each other.
There is a fantastic back story in this book for Blade and it’s a heartbreaking one. But it allows you to understand why he’s torn between the love and acceptance of this found family of bikers and his desire to be with Ace. Because there’s no way the big boss would allow anyone near his little brother! And well, Blade values his life and his balls.
It’s no secret there will be a HEA, but the ride to get there is full of bumps, stabbings, and maybe a few secret rendezvous.
It was so fun reading about Ace and Blade and being pulled into their world of outlaw bikers.
Ace is daring twink with an overprotective stepbrother who destroys his chance for a sexy time at every corner.
Blade is a scary biker with a scarred past. He is deeply in the closet trying to resist his pool toward his best friend's little brother.
But you can fight it all you want, but there is nowhere to run. He stops fighting his desire for Ace eventually even though he is afraid of what his best friend will do to him.
✓ Bikers ✓ Best friend's brother ✓ steamy ✓ age-gap ✓ found family ✓ lgbt ✓ slightly dark m/m romance ✓HEA
This was a very nice read! Nothing much but a good read. I really liked the flashbacks with Blade and his father, and it is even good as a standalone (I haven't read anything else from this author, so I wouldn't know what happened in the first one, but it didn't impact my reading whatsoever) - Honestly, even though this was a good read, how many times can two people do it IN ONE BOOK? The writing is good, but I have the feeling that if he wrote actual action and emotional scenes, he would shine even more.
While book one seemed like a lighter MC romance, book two was a bit darker and moody. There were still bursts of lightness but Blade has a pretty depressing past which he hides well in the form of being the loud and funny biker. Ace was enthralled with Blade since they met but had to bide his time as Blade worked out he wasn't as straight as he thought. Dark humor, fun characters and a solid storyline wrapped in a nice biker bow.
Blade is a blade thrower and member of the Shadow Vipers biker gang. Ace is the outspoken younger brother of the leader of the Shadow Vipers. This story is about forbidden romance, family loyalty, and dealing with past physical and emotional abuse. . This was a great audiobook with suspense, violence, spicy scenes and a lot of angst. Was never really into “biker” stories, but I am now! . I was gifted this audiobook by the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Seriously, how am I crying while reading a book that has man juice in it? *Don't worry he corrects him within three words. This book has all the spice, and unique protagonists that I have not come across very often in the biker gang trope. This is a great book and I'm sad that more people have not rated or left a review on it yet.
Older siblings, quit over protection of adult younger siblings!
Marcus overprotected his adult stepbrother Ace to the point of defying his personal space and love life. Thankgoodness Ace got into his face and told him he will love who he wants and live as himself. THANK YOU, MATHEW! PLEASE KEEP WRITING! ENJOY!
Hidden Desires is the second book in the Bikers of Mayhem series and I really think it's better read in order. This is a friends to lovers, age gap, slightly dark read about Blade and Ace. I have enjoyed this series so far and can't wait to see what comes next.
I love the first book but I'm obsessed with this one! Blade is secretly so freaking good sweet. I love the relationship that all the guys have🤍 I can't wait for Nikolai's book! And maybe Marcus👀
