Fox Catches a Wave
Fox—the beloved and popular trickster character featured in the Geisel Award–winning books Fox Has a Problem, Fox at Night, and Fox the Tiger—is on the move! But Fox knows that life is about the journey, not the destination, and if his untraditional transportation methods get him in a bit of trouble, he can always try again tomorrow. Kirkus Reviews calls Corey R. Tabor “a master of the early reader.”
Where is Fox going? But more importantly, how is he getting there?
A train? A bus? A surfboard? A waterfall? Fox’s travel methods may be a bit unusual, but we would expect nothing less from our terrific, trickster friend.
Wry, repetitive text with carefully chosen language and a limited vocabulary allows for an accessible read while charming illustrations provide context and comedy in Corey R. Tabor’s award-winning Fox series, making it a perfect choice for emerging readers and their caretakers. The Fox series, which is comprised of both picture books and beginning readers, has received three Geisel Awards, one Geisel Honor, multiple starred reviews, and features appealing plots, lovable characters, and age-appropriate themes that encourage children to continue their reading journey.

Fox Catches the wave
By Corey R Turbor
I would rate the story as4 out of 5 as the fox here plays an comical role .the story brings about a fun, laughter and excitement whoever reads the story .It will really attract the readers
Once a fox sets anunknown journey .He doesn’t know where he wiill go ,how he would travel a long distance decided to travel by different modes of transport .like train, bus or plane and sometimes he climbed the surf board to swayed way to catches the wind as he could hear the sound of the wind in the sky .Here the language written in a very clear and precise manner .and the reader could easily understood what the cunning fox wanted to do to reach its destination.Although the path which he choses was full of difficulties and troubling him but finally he makes its way to the wind by soaring high in the sky and now he became so happy and had lots of fun and entertain the reader fully .

First sentence: Fox is going on a trip. Is Fox going to catch a bus? No. Is Fox going to catch a train? Nope. Is Fox going to catch a plan? No.
Premise/plot: Fox has returned for another misadventure/adventure in Corey R. Tabor's Fox Catches a Wave. What will Fox "catch" in this one?
My thoughts: I have absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED some of Fox's past books. I still really enjoy the character. I do think for an I Can Read book it is entertaining and fun. BUT I've enjoyed other books in the series more than this one. I do think if your little one LOVES the character Fox and wants to binge read the entire series, it is definitely WORTH it.

Fox Catches a Wave is an early reader about all the things Fox can "catch." The sentence structure is simple so that readers/listeners can pick up the pattern and also understand that "catch" can have more than one meaning (physically catch or simply acquire). The narrator speaks clearly in a way to keep the attention of little listeners. There are also added sound effects to add to the audio experience.

This was a really cute children’s story! The narration was great, and my kids especially loved the added sound effects, they made it extra fun and engaging.
It’s definitely a quick read, and my kids wished it was a little longer, but overall it was cute and enjoyable story we’d happily listen to again.

Another title in the Fox easy readers and this time Fox catches a wave and keeps going. I especially liked the tone of the colors in this title and the fact that the background color in most of the illustrations was a soft beige. Illustrations were done with pencil, colored pencil, and watercolors and assembled digitally.

Fox goes on vacation on his surfboard, dragging his suitcase behind. Readers are asked what does he “catch” to ride on in order to get to his destination. Once he gets to the beach, he starts catching other things: like a beachball, his breath, and a cold. Clever and fun to read aloud.
From the My First I Can Read series about Fox.
Recommended Toddler-preSchool.
