Mike Brooks was born in Ipswich, Suffolk and moved to Nottingham when he was 18 to go to university. He’s stayed there ever since, and now lives with his wife, two cats, two snakes and a collection of tropical fish. When not working for a homelessness charity he plays guitar and sings in a punk band, watches football (soccer), MMA and nature/science documentaries, goes walking in the Peak District or other areas of splendid scenery, and DJs wherever anyone will tolerate him.
This is a collection of short stories set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe featuring the Ork faction.
It's terrible. The only reason I am not giving it a one is there are two stories in the collection (out of eight) that were OK. Most seem to have been written by someone who had very little idea about warhammer, orks, or honestly, writing. Even the very short pieces are almost unreadable. If you do struggle through them, nearly all of the eight stories are not complete. They are either setting up sequels or just short fiction to put in a game book. If you like Orks, don't bother with this. If you enjoy good writing, don't read this either. I have read many of the Black Library books and they are a real mixed bag, some, like Eisenhorn, are excellent, quite a few seem to be a cash grab by hiring the cheapest writers they could find to spit something out.
