Finally, a LOL, modern western romance series without cliché dialogue, uber-machismo men, and obnoxious, helpless women!

Julie Armstrong was a dealt a lousy hand when her parents were killed in a car accident, leaving her the sole guardian of her brother. Her one and only love, Billy, took off on her shortly after, compounding her heartache. One saving grace, as she forged a meager existence to be both a mother and sister to her brother, Charlie, was the King family. The King’s supported her from day one with love and friendship, all except for Jason King—the aggravating, tattooed bruiser who used to torment Billy.

Jason King has loved only one woman his entire life—Julie Armstrong. He knows everything about her, even the fact that she hates his guts. Jason’s heart refuses to stop beating for her, in spite of this. When trouble finds his secret princess, he’ll do whatever he can to protect her, even if he must risk making her hate him even more.

Manion’s King family is absolutely infectious with their values, wit, charm, and camaraderie. You easily discover she is a pro at capturing the men’s psyche and antics, if you’ve ever had to chum around with a bunch of guys before. The banter and dialogue in Jason’s Princess is so effortless, you don’t forget where you are—you’re in the room with the characters living and breathing right in front of you. She pulls you into their world like some fantastical warp and you can see the brotherly scuffles of the King brothers play out right before your eyes. I love it when a book can do that.

I actually read book 2 first, Jarod’s Heart and adored it so much I requested an ARC/galley copy of the re-release of Jason’s Princess and am so glad I did. Short on sleep, as soon as I finished, I picked up Jarod’s Heart and read it again because I didn’t want to say goodbye yet. This is a great modern, Southwestern with suspense and believable love and dialogue. I’ll be back and begging for more because of the resonating characters. Who needs Skarsgard when you’ve got the King brothers? Hummah, hummah! Thank you, Ms. Manion.

April 2016 Review: Full Review can be found at http://thegraduatedbookworm.blogspot.ca

So starting on, I was immediately captured by the background of Julie and Jason. Of course some would say that it was a typical love story, and I am totally all for those cute little love stories. Both Julie and Charlie had to go through a huge loss so early on. Of course to add on, it causes a larger blow when the guy that Julie believed she loved, decided to skip town on her at the most crucial part of her life. But through it all, of course there is Jason King, who has clearly pined for Julie since they were in high school.

There were a couple moments when I was reading where I found it to be a little slow between Jason and Julie, however it was never boring. I kind of wished that there was more of a *spark* between the two in the romance department. I loved that it was more tame than some of the other romance adult books that are out there, but I would have totally loved more from them.

Moving on from all of the love and romance, I do have to take a moment to talk about Billy. MAN OH MAN do I really dislike that man! Like I don't have too many characters that I really hate, but he is definitely on my list! From everything that I had read about him, and the way he was throughout the story, I just really wanted something to happen to him...

Overall, I really loved the book. The style of writing was great for a first time novel, and I loved the story between the two. I do wish that there was a little bit more with the romance on a deeper level, but I appreciated that there was more of a story than just Ahem..."Romance"... :) I loved the connection between them, and I found that their love story was beautiful. Every page kept me wanting more, and I was very happy to get to the end, and not being totally left on a cliffhanger. The last couple of chapters really had me on the edge of my seat, and I think that it really added another aspect to the story. There were definitely funny moments, where I couldn't stop smiling or laughing, and I totally recommend reading it! I totally loved this novel, and everything that it was about. There were definitely feels and a roller coaster of emotions, but at the same time there was drama, and of course love.

February 2015 Review:
I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. As a debut novel this book was wonderful. I love the fact that it was a silly little love story as Elise Manion calls it. The main characters were absolutely beautiful together from start to end. Each page I read kept me wanting more. This story never got boring, and the last couple of chapters were very intense. I found that the love for one another between Jason and Julie as well as the love for her brother was undeniable, and I definitely cheered for them the whole way! A great romance and New Adult novel. I seriously cannot wait to find out what happens to the eldest brother in Jarod's Heart!

This is my second review of this book. To be more precise, this review is based on the revised edition, which rapidly reminds me why I enjoyed it the first time around. The story is not simply a romance, but a thriller and mystery are thrown into the mix too, for good measure. This is a tale of love at first sight, frustrated by Julie Armstrong's fear of bully-boy Jason King and the successful interjection of a rival, bad-boy Billy, who steals her immature heart. Billy's initiative pushes love-lorn Jason to the sidelines where he can only watch over Julie's best interests from afar. Fast forward five years and Julie's life is on hold. After her parents die in a hot-and-run accident, she admirably fulfils the responsibility of sole parent to her wild brother Charlie. Boyfriend Billy disappears from Julie's life, driven out of town, she believes, by the interfering Jason, who holds the purse strings to her mobile catering business, as the roadside verge opposite Jason's civil engineering project is her only source of income. An uneasy truce exists between them until Julie receives physical and psychological threats. Jason steps up to the plate to protect her, in his royally domineering fashion. How can Julie bear to be subject to Jason's rule? Well, you need to read this debut novel to find out, and I thoroughly recommend that you do.

It is a well-constructed story, well-written and, in this second edition is now near perfect. The characters are well drawn and engaging, the pace perfect and the whole ensemble an entertaining and enjoyable read. Two other volumes are promised, to complete the King Brothers triptych, publishing events worth anticipation.

At the time of my first three-star review, I promised to revisit any revision and express fresh and fair opinion, suggesting that if the mistakes were put right, this story would rate a strong 4 stars. I was wrong. Without the former distractions, I am of the opinion that this book goes one better than 4 stars. In fact, the quality and feel of the printed version was a pleasant surprise, adding greatly to a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. I will certainly keep an eye out for volumes 2 and 3 as Jarod and Josh find courtship heading their way.

Please note that this is a free and honest revised review, the original edition being a fully-paid up purchase. Although the revised book was subsequently a gift from the author, it was an unexpected and unsolicited response to my positive feedback, and in no way connected with any gratitude attached to the author's gift.

Things aren't always as they seem

A lesson Julie learned the hard way. And it cost her greatly.

Jason's Princess is a fast-paced story about a good guy with a bad reputation. He falls in love with Julie, but someone else comes in and poisons her against Jason.

I love that the Kings are people that stand by and protect the little guy. They have character, even if they're rough around the edges. (Ok, maybe MORE than the edges.) I really respect the way Jason handled Julie's long term relationship. It couldn't have been easy, but he respected Julie enough to not interfere.

Not that it would have mattered. Julie was too... something to have listened. This was a hard part for me in the book. HOW did she not know? HOW? Willful ignorance is my first thought. And her stubbornness about defending her boyfriend, when literally everyone around her knew how he was, was frustrating. BUT, in her defense, we don't really read about how she was under Billy's influence. We see her 5 years removed from it, not actually in it. And he was charming enough to be friends with the Kings, even if briefly.

I feel like Jason and Julie definitely had a slow burn going for them. Slow for her anyways. It was pretty quick once she opened her eyes.

This story has some language and fade to black love scenes. There's also a fair bit of violence, but it doesn't feel out of place or sensationalized. Just honest about physical activities and anger.

I received a free copy for an honest review.

I fell in love with the characters in this book. I just love Jason and how he cares for Julie. The King brothers are awesome and I want to know so much more about their family. I want to know more about Jason and Julie. I want there to be another book about Jason and Julie someday. I will definitely be reading the other books in the series. I love her writing and the details she uses. Thanks for writing a great book!

The moment I finished Jarod's Heart by Elise Manion I knew that I was a huge fan and needed more! I patiently waited for the release of Jason's Princess and when it arrived, it definitely did not disappoint! I was so impressed. This book was everything I expected and more.

"When your eyes met mine, my heart beat so hard, I thought it was going to break a rib or two. You were the prettiest thing I had ever seen."

The King Brother novels blow my mind! They only get better and better. I am a sucker for a romance story and on top of that, Elise Manion throws in mystery and crime! Romance and crime are two of my favorite things so I find myself wondering how these books can get any better.. BUT THEY DO! Manion's characters are phenomenal and so easy to relate to. I absolutely love each and every character in this series! Jason's Princess swept me off my feet and took me into some type of book dream land. The world did not matter and who ever tried to talk to me was irrelevant up until the moment I finished this book. Manion's words flowed so beautifully through my mind.

"Jason couldn't believe how one woman could be so beautiful just by smiling. If he hadn't loved her before, he was definitely falling hard now."

At the mention of Josh, I have to talk about Jason! Jason King is my new book boyfriend and I am head over heals for this character. In Jason's Princess, Jason falls for a girl named Julie. It was love at first sight and she was all he wanted, but Julie was in a relationship. Julie thought Jason did not notice her much and Jason thought the same about Julie. This all changed when Julie and her brother Charlie began being followed. Who is targeting them? Who could ever want to hurt them? The King brothers stand together to protect Julie and Charlie and in the process discover some seriously mind blowing information about Julie and her family. Julie is in extreme danger and has been for a while. I didn't know what to think when Manion threw this bomb at me. I still can't believe how twisted and crazy the story got! Jason King caring so much about Julie and Charlie is what melted my heart! Jason would do anything to keep Julie safe and he won me over real quick. Jason and his family are a dream. Jason's mom has such a kind soul and is the nicest person I have ever read about in a book.

I easily found myself wishing I was Julie! Julie is so very lucky to have such caring friends, family, and JASON! Me wanting to be Julie, wanting to be in the story, means that Manion's writing is so real and so vivid that I felt like I was in the book.. I felt like I was Julie at times. I lost myself in this book. Manion really has a way with her words! Her book brought me out of a reading slump that I have been in for about 3 weeks. The moment I read the first page of this book I was hooked. Once I was finished it took me forever to recover. I did not want to start reading another book because that would mean admitting that the King brother's story was over.

Jason's Princess was full of love, friendship, death, mystery, and heart break. This book has it all and I am still recovering from a Jason's Princess hangover. I need more of the King brothers in my life and if you are reading this, then I think you need some King brothers in your life as well! This is a book that needs to be added to your reading list! You will not regret it. I promise.

Elise Manion's "Jason's Princess" will give you a King-sized happy bug. Julie Armstrong is a well rounded character whose circumstances in life have resulted in her growing up very quickly. She exudes strength, grace and kindness and is very likeable along with her brother, Charlie. The King family is wonderful and every character has a uniqueness that is hard to forget. I really loved Camille King's way of punishing her boys when they misbehaved in their younger years. Jason King's character is very interesting as one gets a chance to see him through different lenses. At the end of the book, you cannot help but have a soft corner for him. Elise's writing and transitions between the past and present moments is well done and though the plot is a simple one, it is full of earnest and sweet moments. A feel good book which celebrates taking chances, changing perceptions and listening to your heart at all times. I look forward to reading the King Brothers series.

Looking for her Prince Charming has not been on the top of Julie's to-do list. She is more worried about raising her teenage brother and providing a safe and comfortable home for him since their parents died. Her best friend Josh, and his band of brothers Jason and Jarod have been there every step of the way, whether Julie liked it or not, but she has to admit that they have been exactly what her brother needed. What Julie has failed to see is that Jason has been in love with her since he first laid eyes on her when she was just a freshman in highschool. Jason's Princess is Julie and Jason's story, what happens when an old enemy comes back into town, determined to settle what he feels are old scores, meant to harm Jason and Julie. Author Elise Manion builds a wonderfully complex story full of emotion and drama. Everything is contemporary and yet, it will restore your faith in family values.

Jason's Princess is the first book in what is set to be the King Brother's series, and although it is Jason and Julie's story, you get to meet the whole family and start learning the history between Jarod and Lauren, and the amazing friendship between Julie, Lauren and Josh as well as the bonds of brotherhood between the King boys. Author Elise Manion may build the King boys up to be tough, battle ready men, but there is a strong family bond, and parents that instilled in them the value of family and protecting those smaller and weaker, never being the bully, and looking out for others. This is an amazing story that had me laughing and cry the whole way through! It's classified as young adult, but the main characters are 25 and up, so it's really a great book for any reader.

I loved this book! The mark of a good book, to me, is when it has a story that keeps moving and that you just have to know what happens next. Some books hit a lull in the middle of the story where you can find yourself being okay with putting it down. I found this story exciting and kept me hooked page after page.

Right from the beginning you know that Jason is at his heart a good guy who has a bad reputation. The back and forth between him and Julie kept a smile on my face and I could not wait to see how it progressed and the if/when they would finally end up together. I admire Julie as a character and how she put her brother first and made him the most important person in her life. I also loved the group conversation between and the King men about the "Room of Doom!" I was laughing because you could really picture a group of men sitting there describing it as a "room of horrors."

I truly look forward to the next two stories. I am already intrigued by Jarod/Lauren and cannot wait to find out who Josh will end up with!

I won Jason's Princess through Goodreads giveaway.I'm so glad I got to read her first attempt book. One of my favorite parts are when Lauren and Jarod appears in the book, but then again those are the types books I like the most. One thing I dislike was that Jason and Julie relationship was really slow which at time I would get bored. Anyways, if you into the whole i love you in grade school but other person got have her first but years later they "get together" this for you. Oh yeah, there is a mystery case involve well not so much of a mystery if one knows who doing the crimes. Overall, loved it. :)

What a love story

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I fell in love with this book. I stayed up half the night to finish it because I had to know what happened next. I love how the Author took the time to develop the characters, they back stories and connected them all together. She did a great job with weaving the flash backs into the story so it flowed evenly. This book was filled with love, friendship, devotion to family, and adventure.
I can't wait to read the next book.

While this is book one in the series it looks like, I'm not sure the books have to be read in order. I read this one after the second one and enjoyed it.
It takes place in Northern Nevada and Manion's descriptions call to mind sights and experiences I share with characters which makes reading fun!
I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy romance.

Jason's Princess is the first book in the King Brother series by Elise Manion. It has taken me a while to pick this book up, but it only took me a couple of days to finish it. Jason's Princess was the perfect blend of romance and suspense. This book had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end.

From the first page of Jason's Princess, I knew that I would enjoy this book. This book had me hooked at the prologue. I just had to find out what happened with these characters. I loved Julie and Jason. At first, their relationship was pretty one-sided and slow to develop as I continued reading though I appreciated the build-up. Generally, I am not a huge fan of suspense in books, but I loved it in this book. This book kept me reading to figure out what was going to happen next. The reader pretty much knew the 'who' from the start; it is more of the what's next that kept me reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jason's Princess, but there were two minor issues that I took with it. My first issue, I wanted more background. After the prologue, there is a time jump of a couple of years. I wish that there would have been more insight into those years. My second issue was that sometimes the romance aspect of the book took a backseat to the suspense part of the book. While I did enjoy the suspense, I also felt that I would have liked more romance. These issues, though, are minor, and I still enjoyed the book immensely.

Jason's Princess is the first book by Elise Manion that I have read. If her other books are anything like this one, I will be checking out more of her books. I would recommend giving Jason's Princess a read. I am super excited to start reading the other books in this series and more books by this author in the future.

Julie Armstrong had to step up to the plate to become her 17 year old brother's guardian. To make ends meet, she owns and operates a food truck.

In high school, Julie's best friends were Lauren and Josh. Josh King is one of three brothers. When Josh introduces the two girls to his brothers, Julie's impression is that Jason is a bully. Later, Billy, a friend of Jason's approaches her and asks her out. Billy becomes her high school sweetheart, and she hopes they'll marry.

Jason King, knows that Julie thinks of him nothing more than an annoyance, but that doesn't stop him from trying to be there for her and her brother. When Billy and Jason have a falling out, and Billy leaves, Julie blames Jason.

When Julie is accosted by dangerous men, it is Jason that runs to her rescue. When Jarod King, the sheriff, informs that Julie is not to be left alone, Jason pushes his way into her life. Little by little, Julie starts to rely on Jason and see him in a different light.

I loved the story and quickly became immersed in it. Sometimes, we want to hold on to something because we want it to be true, and overlook the obvious.

Julie Armstrong has had a crush on Jason King ever since she met him her freshman year in high school. But due to rumors and witnessing him get into a fight, she thinks he is a bad boy and wants nothing to do with him. Julie runs a food truck and takes care of her younger brother since her parents death. Coincidentally, Jason runs the construction site where her food truck happens to be parked next to. When Julie starts getting harassed, Jason makes it his mission to make sure nothing happens to her. But will he finally be able to get past Julie's shell and tell her how he feels?

This book is one any romance reader would love. It has the girl in trouble, hero there to help, and an enemies to lovers feel. I could not put the book down and finished it in one night. I cannot wait to read more in the series.

This book was given to me an an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

DNF at 47%

I tried, but Julie's constant snapping on Jason due to some misplaced anger and naïveté (or willful ignorance about her ex?) was incredibly annoying. Jason was nothing but sweet and protective of her but was constantly chewed out for his efforts. Plus it started to slog despite having what could have been an interesting mystery surrounding attacks and robberies.

Julie lived her life for the only family she had left; her seventeen year old brother Charlie. Like most women her age she had hopes and dreams of a future with Prince Charming and a family of her own. At twenty five she might have a chance at hopefully ever after but she didn’t have time to put much effort into the search. For Charlie she had to play many roles- parent, counselor, teacher, protector, chef, cheerleader, and taxi driver. She ran a small business just to keep a roof over their head and food on the table. She simply didn’t have time to look for a good man, even if one existed which she surely doubted. The last good man she had known was her father. Unfortunately for both her and Charlie their parents were both dead. So when the chance to go camping arrived the weekend before Charlie started his Senior year started, Julie couldn’t he;p thinking she was being stalked by a toad. He was a nice looking toad, physically fit with a well defined body, bright green eyes that could look into her soul, brown hair kissed by the sun, a killer smile. But the tattoos were a giveaway to his bad-boy nature and he liked to boss people around, he would even use physical force when necessary Jason King was no Prince Charming. Julie’s best friend was Lauren And she was camping with her and Charlie. Julie realized their camp was next to the Kings site. Jason said” are you guys ready for skiing?” His way of saying hello. He was so arrogant she almost couldn’t stand it. She had to see her every single day since King construction had gotten the new shopping center deal. She had parker her food truck, Cafe Armstrong near the site since the day they had broken ground knowing that it would be a steady source of income for her for the next eighteen months or so. Jason had come to her order window the first day and every day there after. If he wasn’t such a fine specimen she would have refused him service, but he had been a perfect gentleman. So she tolerated his effort to get on her good side. Unfortunately for Jason, she was a grudge holder and she just couldn’t let go of the past. Lauren said she would never understand why she didn’t like Jason. She didn’t want to think of Jason at all. Jason was a little surprised when Juliue accepted his invitation on the boat. The deep love Julie had for Charlie was one of the many things Jason loved about her. Something inside of Jason had clicked the first time he had laid eyes on herand it had stuck with jhim all these years, calling to him like a siren. Unfortunately, the feeling was not returned. Charlie was headstrong, something Jason understood, which made him worry that Charlie had something in mind that he wasn’t admitting to anyway. Jason loved Charlie almost as much as he loved Julie. When Julie and Charlie had lost their parents. At twenty Julie had stepped up and made the best home for Charlie that she could. Jason knew Charlie would need… a strong male influence around him. So Jason had taken on the responsibility. He made sure to volunteer his time to any sports team Charlie was interested in and took him out on the boat for ski lessons. Charlie tried a stunt today and needed stitches. Then a couple days later while Julie was parked across the street from Jason’s construction site and three men came up to her food truck I man wanted a hot meal and today was a cold lunch day and the guy tried to force himself into Julie’s truck and Jason and five of his workers showed up. Jason beat the guy up who tried to force his way into the food truck and had harassed Julie. Then the next day a truck tried to push Julie into crossway traffic. This time Julie needed stitches. Jason took care of everything And Jared Jason's brother had no clues who had tried to seriously hurt Julie. Billy had been one of Jason’s friends but he only hung out with Jason for a higher social standing in school. He got to Julie before Jason did and he left town broke her heart when Julie needed him. After Billy had gone with Julie and cheated and didn’t treat her very well Billy and Jason’s friendship ended. As time went on Julie had developed a hatred for Jason thanks to Billy. But things were changing.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved that Julie stepped up and quit school to raise her younger brother when their parents were killed. I loved the Kings stepped in to help especially Jason for Charlie. Charlie could have gotten into a lot of trouble with his temper, anger and great grief of losing both his parents. I loved the Josh King was one of Julie’s best friends, that was just so sweet. I loved that Jason had Julie from the time he first laid eyes on her and no matter what he did she was the woman for him. I loved Jason and Julie together. I loved the mystery and danger. I loved Jason wouldn’t leave Julie as soon as she had to get stitches. This was just a great read as far as I am concerned. I loved the plot and pace. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

I can't exactly explain why I finished this book. The heroine was weak and despite continuously saying that she wasn't a child or she needed to be strong she constantly let other people run her life. The hero was the total opposite he was constantly ready for a fight. The author tried to or make it better by talking about how the brothers were "honor bound" to not let weaker people get beat up or something equally silly. Also he was not in any way stalking or a stalker i think the author used it in every form in the heroines thoughts. Speaking of author issues this has to be one of the most sloppily written books i've managed to finish. Literally every type of spelling, grammar, usage, and punctuation error can be found in here. It started off mild but by the end there were numerous errors per page and i was reading on the screen of my phone. the romance was utterly unbelievable with the hero stating he had always loved the heroine but never giving a reason for it...and sleeping with other girls rather than making his feelings known, and the heroine going from not liking him at all to sleeping with him in a matter of days. The plot could have been good but there is literally no mystery to it at all. You know who the villain is the whole time and there were no twists.
Bottom line: don't bother with this one. most of my to read list comes from the giveaways and after this many duds i've decided to scrap that list and start over because at this point i'm just wasting my oyster membership

Sometimes it is nice to get back to romance basics - and this book fits the bill perfectly. This story is a small town, second-ish chance, with a dose of enemies to lovers. I would also say it stays on the traditional side of views of male/female relationships.

Jason and Julie have been each other’s lives for years - going back to their high school days. Julie is good friends with Jason’s brother Josh. Even though their fathers are apparently very close, they meet for the first time in high school. Julie was definitely a “good” girl to Jason’s bad boy/wild child and as a result she fled directly into the arms of a not-so-good but very charming guy. For Jason it’s love at first sight and it stays that way.

Fast forward a few years, Julie is raising her younger brother after the death of her parents in a hit and run accident. Jason has stayed on the periphery of her life, very involved in supporting her brother. Julie despises Jason because she feels he drove away her seemingly wonderful ex boyfriend. It turns out there is a whole lot more to the story!

Jason is a typical alpha hero - there to save the day and protect Julie. Julie is pretty naive or maybe just in denial about the facts of her life. Jason hasn’t been up front with Julie about her ex - and even though others in her life tried to talk to her about him she chose to believe the ex instead. Love is blind I guess.

It was nice to see Julie find safety and security with Jason and his tightly knit family.

I received an ARC of this from NetGalley but these opinions are all my own!

Julie Armstrong and Charlie King was best friends in high school. When she met her Charlie's brothers for the first time was when they were engaged in fight. That's how she remembered Jason.
When she lost her parents, she was responsible for her teenage brother so she decided to run a food truck. She never felt threaten until someone try to get into her truck. Jason comes to rescue Julie. Ever since the attack Jason is trying to protect Julie and her brother. But he knows Julie won't easily open up to her so he is trying to help her through her brother.
Now threat is escalating and Julie's ex-boyfriend, Jason's high school buddy is back in town. Jason's family is trying to their best to keep Julie safe. Jason knows what Billy did to her and her parents, but he can't tell her yet until all he has all the evidence is collected. Julie still partly blames Jasons' for her break up but she is seeing Jason in different light.
King's family has been supportive and kind to Julie and her brother. Now she is questioning all her years with Billy. Jason is willing to everything to protect her and make her his. Threat is not over yet and it is escalating even more.
Suspense until the very end and Julie and Charilie's HEA. Can't wait to read all about Jason's brothers.

The premise of this book is that Jason has loved Julie since the first moment he saw her when she was a freshman in high school and he was a junior. But he didn’t do anything about it because she had immediately begun dating a guy who used to be his friend. But he soon realizes that Billy is actually a really terrible person, but he doesn’t say or do anything to warn Julie. Apparently, just about everyone around Julie knows how awful Billy is, but no one warns her. Then her parents die when she’s 20 years old and she bravely drops out of college and buys a food truck to support her and her 12-year old brother. Jason loves her from afar, but doesn’t say or do much of anything until five years later when she suddenly, out-of-the blue is threatened. Now he’ll do anything to protect her and her brother. At first she resists but, because it’s a romance novel, she comes to realize how great a guy Jason really is.

He does seem like a great guy. But she seems rather oblivious to have taken about a decade to figure out who her real friends were.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Holy smoke signals!! Love from a childhood that is one sided and misinterpreted is where this book unravels from. I can’t scream loud enough of the praises of this book and this family. I want more. I can’t wait to read about the other King brothers. Alpha male-check; powerful love-check; obsessed with this author and family now-check!!!!

Ths book was first published in 2014 and I was lucky enough to read the ebook version.

Jason might have this arrogant and bad boy image that he wanted to portray but the truth is he is a caring guy.

I hated it that Julie still believes his ex Billy because come on. Seriously?

I was grateful for the plot twist! Yes!

Thank you BHC Press and Netgalley for the ARC!
