Das Ende vor Augen - Soldaten erzählen aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg (Zeitzeugen 2)

Rate this book

A short but interesting read on the experiences of German soldiers at the end of WW2.It contains accounts from soldiers on both the eastern and western fronts, many fell into the hands of the Russian forces and spent the next few years in camps in Russia others managed to surrender to the Americans and had a less traumatic experience
I think the book could've been improved by having a few civilian accounts and by including more information on the people who were interviewed. In conclusion a decent book that shows the hell that was Germany in the last act of the Nazi era.
