The second hint something’s wrong in a town that pretends its magic is perfectly under control?A hex mark on your front door.
It showed up overnight—burned into the wood, smelling faintly of sulfur and sage. Just another Tuesday in this charmingly cursed town. But when fires start flaring in places they shouldn’t—like the potion storeroom, the town bakery, and my actual hair—it’s clear someone’s stirring up more than trouble.
Potions are misfiring. Tempers are flaring. And my dragon-possibly-cat just declared war on the broom closet.
Add in a string of magical house fires with no clear cause, a missing charm-maker, and a long-buried feud between coven members that no one wants to talk about, and suddenly my quiet apothecary life is going up in smoke.
If I don’t unravel the truth soon, Willowbark’s cozy little hearths won’t be the only thing burning.
Because in this town, old magic doesn’t die quietly—it explodes. Grab your copy of this fun witchy cozy mystery today!
This was a really fun book. It was exciting from the beginning. There are a number of things going on and therefore you had to figure out who was doing what. It makes for a better read because you're trying to figure other things out. I like the characters. It was actually scary to read about how every business caught fire; hearing a pop, and then it would start to flare up. I got really involved with the storyline. I can't wait to read the next book!!!
Hexes and Hearths is WONDERFUL!! This is the second book in the Witches of Willowbark Cozy Mystery series. It is equally as good as book one! I love the new developments in this book. There is a perfect mix of building on the current storyline along with the new hints of future story’s that will be shared. I love everything about this series. The characters are incredibly enjoyable to read about. The fact Rory has found family with Maeve and her extended family makes the story even more enjoyable. I will say Floofmeister is still my favorite character. His charm and sarcasm make my day.
I cannot wait for the next book! This series is amazing! It is the first witchy cozy mystery series that I’ve followed and I highly recommend it.
Perfect book, and series, for fall! Grab your pumpkin spice latte, curl up under a blanket, and fall into Willowbark. You’ll love it, I promise!
Allie Kat (Rosie) and Tasha have done it again. Re-entering Willowbark to a new mystery is so inviting. Not only does Rory discover more of her magic but she is has more communication from her Grammy, with more mysteries to solve. Her relationship with Maeve and the Muskberry clan is very charming and her acceptance from them makes her feel more at home in Willowbark. Not only does Roxanne come into the apothecary for some herbs for a poison but she then disappears and buildings are not only hexed but then they burst into flames. The possible relationship with Connor is very intriguing and adds to the whole story so wonderfully. Grab a coffee or tea and curl up with this inviting cozy and solve the mystery along with them. Prepare for further mysteries to come which I am sure will keep us coming back for more of Willowbark and our new friends.
Wow! This second book in the Witches of Willowbark series is definitely unputdownable. What is going on in Willowbark? Houses and stores are being marked with hexes and then they just burst into fires. Both Rory's Potion shop and Maeve's bookshop both burst into flames. And a new young witch, Rebecca, arrived in town but she is missing and with two competing covens, Rory learning more about her magic, what else could go wrong? Who is causing this chaos and what are they after. This is a fast paced, fun, page turning book that you just can't put down once you begin. I not only recommend this book, but the first book in the series too. I can't wait to read more! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Story about a town that is magical and most of the people don't realize that there are two covens of witches living there. Then a young witch named Rebecca comes up missing and the Muskberry Coven decides to look into the disappearance unofficially of course. The Nightshade Coven said that they were going to handle it because they are the biggest coven in Willowbark but Rory couldn't just leave it to them to look. Rory is a witch just coming into her powers and has just a bit of trouble with some of her spells but she tries hard. The culprit is found and it wasn't really what they were expecting. I received an arc and this is my review.
The second in this new cozy series. I would recommend reading the first book prior to this one, due to the backstory.
Rory and Maeve have another murder and mystery to solve. Multiple stores/homes are marked with a hex, and then burst into flames, including Rory's potion shop and Maeve's bookstore. Add a missing witch and the whole magical community is in chaos. Is the peace between the witches and vampires about to rupture?
Hexes and Hearths by Allie Katt was such a fun and cozy read! I loved the blend of small-town charm, witchy vibes, and just the right dash of romance and mystery. The characters felt warm and real, like people you’d actually want to have tea (or cast spells) with. It’s the kind of book that makes you want to curl up under a blanket and stay in that magical world just a little longer.
Fires are starting in weird places and something isn’t right. Willowbark is under attack, but is it from outside or from inside the town. Another twisty mystery that will keep your attention.
