A nurse practitioner on the run from heartbreak takes a temporary job in a secluded mountain town—only to discover a community, and a sheriff, willing to help her heal.
After a broken engagement and a brush with danger, nurse practitioner Violet Love escapes to the snowy mountain town of Angel Creek, hoping to heal in peace. But the quirky townspeople, stubborn patients, and a brooding local cop with secrets of his own make "quiet" impossible.
Carson Jackson is guarded, grieving, and unexpectedly protective — and something in Violet stirs the part of him he thought was long gone.
As their slow-burn romance deepens, Violet uncovers whispers of a tragedy that tore the town a woman, an affair, a deadly accident… and a secret that someone still wants buried.
With snow falling, Christmas lights twinkling, and a fragile hope blooming between them, Violet must choose between keeping the past hidden or risking everything to bring the truth to light.
Can two broken hearts find healing — and love — under the magic of a mountain Christmas

Geologist April Love is expecting a baby girl with Wendell...who is not what he seems. She and her sister Violet, a nurse, both live in the eponymous town, and April becomes obsessed with the old abandoned mining town - with devastating results. Suzanne Jenkins' riveting storylines intertwine in interesting and believable ways, which reminded me of her other fantastic series, Pam Of Babylon, with Violet as the central figure in this instance. Violet and her family's story is so compelling, that I read it straight through in one go. Why not try it for yourself - and brew lots of strong coffee...you'll read all night!
