After seeing Amir and Monique start to form something in Cuffed by a Certified Maniac it was nice to see the two of them agree to being together. It took awhile for them to get there mainly because of some things that occurred in Monique's past but I was happy Amir was patient with her. She did slightly irk me because I felt like she was dragging it just a tad and I didn't like seeing her being so insecure but once she got herself together I was happy she did.

Amir didn't play about her and it was nice to see. I thought Jaseon was wild in the first book but Amir was wilder if that was even possible. It was like she was the missing piece to to his life that he didn't know he needed. Seeing him as a loving and doting boyfriend was nice to see too but once you crossed him it was on and his maniac side definitely came through.

Overall I enjoyed the book and I thought the ending was a nice little especially with all the Monique went through and what she thought she wouldn't be able to get. The banter was funny at times in this one too just like the other book which was a nice added touch.

While I enjoyed Jay’s book, this one, Amir’s story, just isn’t hitting for me so far. Monique is already getting on my nerves and I’ve barely started.

Amir waiting an entire year without having sex with Monique while she keeps him at a distance feels highly unrealistic. Yes, it’s fiction, but it still needs some grounding in reality. She constantly pushes him away, gives him nothing emotionally or physically, yet expects him to wait and that’s not making sense to me.

Monique also comes across as forcing sadness. She cries far too often, even when nothing is happening. One moment everything is calm and the next she is wiping tears from her face for no real reason. It feels like unnecessary dramatics.

A man like Amir, who is wealthy, successful, and clearly has options, is choosing to remain devoted to a woman who gives him nothing. What about balance and reciprocity? She offers no growth, and no emotional availability, and so far the only thing he gets is to eat her out.

He shows up, buys gifts, and remains patient, yet she gives him no reason to stay. I have not read anything yet that explains why Amir would choose her over women who would actually reciprocate his effort. The connection feels forced rather than developed naturally.

Right now, Monique reads as emotionally damaged without accountability, and Amir’s loyalty is manufactured instead of believable. I just need this dynamic to make sense, because at this point, it does not. DNF.

Oh yeah this = perfection

Let me preface this by saying it took me a minute but I finally made it full circle because I read the first book but Amir is definitely my favorite brother. 😍 Both are bad s*** crazy and I love that about them but what makes amere my favorite is the way that he went after Monique like The way he loved on her the way he spoke affirmation into her was so beautiful he was not letting up on my girl. I wanted her to know that she was the epitome of everything that he could ever want and more. And when she finally let herself accept the love he was giving it was just beautiful. Not her ex got everything he m************ deserved along with that b**** a****** Trina In Jane because I don't remember her name either. The brother is mom was a b**** and honestly f*** her. Breonna was a definite ride or die for her girl and I love her they're the reason she is one of my favorite FMCs she is just as bat s*** ass her hubby Jay. I can officially say I have read every book meek money has written up until now and I love the world she's created I also own every book so I can die happy.

Now I got a whole lot of everything!!

I love love love this family. I thought book one was the best but book 2 is my fave. I lived for the affirmations and reassurance provided by Amir to Mo that was everything. The love shown by everyone to each other is priceless. The bonds, laughter, time well spent and protectiveness shown by the brothers and best friend duo is unmatched. The amount of gun pulling and unhinged activity in each page had me laughing til I couldn’t anymore. Malik and Trina you can’t win when you play dirty listening to his dad was the dumbest thing he ever did 😂😂 Nek is a beast with the pen. I’m ready for book 3!

Amir = Certified Maniac

Once again, Amir took the whole book down in a good way. He loved my girl Monique through all her trials and tribulations, broken heart, broken spirit, and broken soul and self esteem. Amir was patient with Mo and it all worked out in his favor because he got his girl and their little family. Cute story that had me laughing, crying, and swooning all at the same time.

Love is Love

No one should ever deal with the pain someone else caused. The past should never be able to hinder the future. I said it before and I will say it again, one man trash is another man treasure. We are our worst enemy. Lets chat…

Monique was that girl, but her past trauma has her second guessing who she is as a woman. See woman need to understand that self-esteem start with self. Only you as the person can control and manage your self-esteem. My girl didn’t understand that but one thing she did understand was that Amir was not coming off her and she knew she loved that man. Where my girl was irritating me was the back and forth with Mir but so glad my girl Breonna checked her every time. Like what man that is NOT loving you for you or feeling you will be with and around you let alone sleep in the same bed as you and not attempt to please you or take it here. Girl open them eyes and allow this man to love you and all about you. When she did allow it to happen, the fireworks were there. The way this man loved on her, provided her with nothing but amazing affirmations and put her through the mattress. Now as for that Malik, listen the way I wanted to jump through them pages.. He thought he still had that power over her but he sadly mistaken and got exactly what he deserved.

Amir is just as unhinged as Jaseon except he is a little more mellow with his. Ya boy is the calmer unhinged if that makes sense. One thing about Amir that I noticed is he’s a lover boy and loves hard. The pressure and work he put into being with Mo was so amazing and beautiful. This man was so patient and willing to move at her pace and her pace only. The affirmation that he always delivered and expressed to her, had me teary eyed as it was the sweetest. There was one thing that I noticed that both Amir and Jaseon have in common and that’s selective hearing. They hear what they want to hear and if they hear something they dislike, they stick to it and everything else doesn’t matter at that moment. Amir tried his hardest to control his outrage when it came to Mo ex Malik. Honestly, to me he handled the situation accordingly since the standard way didn’t work.

Now Bre and Jaseon was still going strong and my girl is now just as bad has her man. Bre is now the female version of Jaseon. She played not a single game when it came to her family and Mo. Oh but one thing for sure, she is not sugarcoating anything with anyone and the way she checked Mo for her action had me cheering along with Bre cause Mo what are you doing. But when that had to check Jaseon and Amir mother Aerial. Listen I was so happy that they did cause they mama was disrespectful. Oh before I forget, the way they talked about them kids LOL… Not the twins being bad and jumping they dad and uncle at the age of 1. Listen I honestly need a book on the kids – all of them.

Like always, Mrs. Nek didn’t disappoint me at all. She gave me everything I needed and more when it came to this read. These brothers and associates are not to played with when their hearts are involved. Enjoyed everything about this read. Now I am headed over to that Mind of a Maniac to see what going on there.

The Right Kind of Crazy Love

This installment follows Amir (Jaseon’s brother) and Monique (Breonna’s best friend), a pairing I was curious about after the first book.

Monique has been single for a while after finally leaving an ex who spent their relationship tearing her down about her size. As the story unfolds, pieces of her past begin resurfacing in ways that complicate things for everyone involved. Because of how certain elements were foreshadowed earlier in the series, I found parts of the storyline somewhat predictable.

What frustrated me at times was Amir’s reaction once more details about Monique’s past came out. After spending nearly a year clearly devoted to her, his attitude shifted in ways that felt immature and had me rolling my eyes more than once. Still, it was obvious how deeply he cared for her, and in the end his devotion to Monique never really wavered.

Another thing that stood out was how often Monique’s size became a topic of conversation. Some of the remarks from other characters were extremely blunt and outright rude. We understand that Monique is a thicker woman, but the constant commentary about her body sometimes felt excessive. Maybe this reflects a reality some women face, but it was frustrating to read the audacity of some of those interactions.

As with the first book, there were still a few typos throughout the story. Lines like “tried my hardest to labor my breathing” and “Ma Michelle went to answer her knocking door” pulled me out of the moment briefly, though they were noticeably less intrusive than in the previous installment.

Overall, this book continues the series with a love story centered on loyalty, growth, and finding someone who loves you exactly as you are. Despite a few predictable elements and occasional editing issues, Amir and Monique ultimately get the happily ever after you want for them.

Amir and Mo with the chemistry!

Amir and Mo’s chemistry was undeniable, and what I loved most was how Amir instantly recognized the gem Mo was. Because of that, he was willing to be patient and love her through all the internal emotional turmoil she was dealing with. Once she finally decided to let go of her past, it was beautiful to see how willingly she opened herself up to being loved. I also really enjoyed how the story centered on genuine, authentic relationships. Family was such a huge theme here. The wedding surprise at the end was top tier!
However, despite the overall entertaining plot, there were a few things that held me back. For starters, Mo’s transition from docile to a gun-toting, unhinged character felt a bit jarring. I recognize the author might have been trying to illustrate the influence of her McKnight beau, but I would have loved to see that transformation happen in real time. At times, the behavior felt forced, like the author was just throwing every chaotic thought onto the page to turn Amir and Mo into a maniac. The flow and connection behind his and her choices just weren't quite there. Lastly, my biggest struggle with this book, and the series as a whole, was the grammatical errors. This is something the editor really should have caught. The verb tenses were incredibly inconsistent, shifting between past, present, future, and perfect past, often within the same paragraph or even a single complex sentence. That lack of continuity in the writing structure made it a challenge to get through the story.
Outside of those technical issues, the book definitely had potential and was overall an enjoyable read. 3.5 ⭐️

Amir & Mo

This was my favorite! I didn’t think I would love this one more than the first but I really do!! I would definitely reread and recommend. This book made me so happy. I was so happy with their happily ever after even though it came with a lot of drama and a lot of miscommunication and things like that but overall, it was a great book. I’m glad that the main female character found her voice, found her words and didn’t let anybody treat her bad and neither did come in. I really really enjoyed this couples journey this couples family this couples spice and both couple’s lives. I really enjoyed this more than what I thought I would and like I said I now prefer Amir over his brother which is crazy even though they’re both are crazy and this book is hilarious. In this book definitely had a good storyline. The friends were everything to each other and it was just great the way they talk to each other is about how me and my family would talk to each other so it’s well worth the read in very funny and you just never know what’s gonna come out of either brother‘s mouth.

“I will go to war with God himself about you..”

This is book 2 in an interconnected standalone series.
Book 1: 4.50
Book 2: 4.25

I loved Mo & Amir from book 1 so, I knew this would be good & the story did not disappoint.

-hilarious, conversational banter
-best friendship
-brotherhood
-plus size FMC
-3/5 spice level
-realistic character development
-lovable, devoted MMC
-relatable characters
-strong villains
-“rise from the ashes” self esteem plot
-revenge & getting your lick back
-complex family dynamics
-updates on MC’s from book 1
-really cute epilogue

Amir was so intentional with Monique & I loved that as the center of their connection. I could not stop laughing at the jokes between the 4 MC’s.

Both books have kept me thoroughly entertained from start to finish. This was my introduction to Nek Mills. Officially consider me a fan.

Check your trigger warnings for this.

Absolutely loved this Book!!

Monique and Amir’s relationship was a true testament to loving someone who has been deeply hurt in the past, and showing them patience, grace, and healing love. Amir’s patience with Monique really stood out, through both his words and actions, he helped restore her confidence and reminded her of who she was before her ex tore down her self-esteem. I absolutely loved watching him love her back to wholeness.

And of course, this story wouldn’t be complete without Jaseon’s crazy self and Breonna’s hilarious antics those two always keep things entertaining! Overall, I truly enjoyed this book and I’m really hoping Jade and Mitch get their own story next!!

Amir and Monique, Loving You Through Your Pain

This book was really good!!!…I was so happy for Monique!!!…She deserves all the happiness that Amir showered her with!!!…
You truly never know how low the torment of the words from the mouth of the person that you love can bring you!!!…
This dude was unhappy that he couldn’t tear Monique down no more, but he found out Bre didn’t play about her friend!!!…
It was definitely the rolling pin for me!!!…She said he had the right one on the wrong day!!!…They locked that door and went to town!!!…
Amir cut no corners and he spk all kinds of life and positivity in her!!!…
She found that confidence and didn’t look back!!!…
Those babies though, lil terrors, but protectors too!!!…

Mo & Amir. 😊

When I tell you these McKnight men are McNutcases, believe me! 🤣

Amir had me fooled!
He was so funny and chill in Jay & Bre’s book, I thought he was gonna give me a lil break, but no sir.
He might be worse than Jay on the Maniac scale.
While his big bro is brash & has zero filter, Amir is calculating! He had me clutching my pearls with his crazy tail self. 🤪

Crazy aside, Amir was a patient friend & fierce protector. He supported Mo through all of her darkness and loved her back into the light. It takes a special kind of man to build up something that he didn’t break. ❤️‍🩹

I was so glad when Monique got out of her own way! Because “Girl, don’t piss me off!” 😂
I was so satisfied with the conclusion of the book.

NEK Mills did it again with Loved By A Certified Maniac—this one hit just as hard as the first! I was hollering at the pure foolishness in this book. Amir and Jay? Straight menaces. Unhinged, ignorant, crazy, no-nonsense—taking out anybody in their way without blinking.

The energy was wild from start to finish, and the entertainment value? Through the roof. I ain’t even gonna spoil the best parts, but just know you gotta read it to feel the madness for yourself.

This book—and the whole series—ate down and left zero crumbs. Nek Mills, you got all the flowers from me, because this was certified heat just like all your other ones!

This was a re-read in preparation of Jaseon Jr’s story! Amir was a mannnn okay! He did not play about his Mo 🥰 Whewww poor Mo was so insecure & I felt for her but I was glad she allowed Amir to show her true, genuine love. Amir was just as insane as his brother 🤣 I loved the banter between the brothers & the besties. You can tell that truly love each other & will ride for each other no matter what. I also loved seeing the kids! Jaseon & Bebe got they hands full cause them kids bad af 🤣 This book made me even more excited for Jaseon Jr’s book! I can’t wait to see the dynamic between all of the kids now that they are grown.

I liked it…

I think this second book with Amir and Mo was even better than the first, partly because we still got to see quite a lot of Jay and Breonna, but also because of the relationship development and character growth we got here particularly from Mo, who starts of the book dealing with severe trauma from emotional and verbal abuse in her previous relationship.

I still wouldn’t say Amir and Jay are certified maniacs, maybe a little short-fused and a little sadistic but it wasn’t the free for all full on maniacal behaviour I’ve seen in other books in this sub-genre. Ultimately, while problematic, this was deep down really sweet and I liked it well enough.

Amir is just as unhinged as his brother!!

This second book was just as good. It echoed what happened to Amir’s brother, but turned the intensity all the way up. I really thought Amir was the chill, sane brother… little did I know he’s just as unhinged.

Mo and Amir’s relationship was wild and chaotic, but at its core, it was undeniably pure. The plot was a bit redundant, but it still did exactly what it was supposed to do. And the spice? It’ll have you blushing, clutching your pearls, and fanning yourself!

I’m really glad they got the happy ending they deserved.

Amir and Monique

Amir is Jaseon's brother, and Monique is Breonna's best friend. They meet each other at an event that was hosted by the brothers.

Monique is wary of relationships after doing with her ex, who was verbally negative towards her. She was willing to be friends with some physical touching.

Amir knew that she was the one from him when they first met. He plays the role of ftiend for a time in hopes of more.

Eventually, Monique decides on giving a relationship a try. She does know someone from her past thinks they can get her back.

Their relationship goes through some trials, but Monique let's him know that she is not the one to play with.

I absolutely adored this book! Amir and Mo's journey was a whirlwind of emotions that had me laughing, crying, and everything. His showering her with love transformed her into a more healed woman! When the past came crashing back, he stood by her through every challenge. And let me tell you, Breonna, Jay, and their crew were downright hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing when Bre and Mo took on Malik—I was literally on the floor! And when the twins went for Jay's knees? Epic! 😂🤣 I can’t recommend this series enough for anyone searching for a gripping read. The author truly delivers!

Amusing

I appreciate the Author giving Amir and Monique their story. I really loved how their relationship blossomed.

Amir was a true alpha male with crazy tendencies, but he was loving and faithful. He supported Monique to the fullest.

I was happy to see Monique took Bre's advice to heart and let Amir love her.

Amir crazy consistently came out to play and it didn't care who it hit!

After all that was said and done both brothers got their happy ever after.

Magnificent story!

Amir!!!!! He is FUNNY & THAT MAN!!!! The way he was patient with our girl Mo was so loving!!! He had a smaller temper compared to Jay but he still acted ignorant. I’m glad he helped build Mo up enough to NOT tolerate his crap! Mo was a BOSS! She may have seemed passive but the way she bossed up on folks was amazing 🤩 I’m glad she didn’t allow Malik trifling butt to come in & mess with her mental! And all the women helping him got what they deserved!!!! Now all the kids, whew 😰 I feel for them all!!!!

I loved it!

Monique and Amir really went through it! Malik did a number on her self esteem, but when Amir decided he wanted her, there was no stopping him. Trina was a hot mess and in the end they met with a terrible fate. Breonna and Jaseon were just as funny as the last time and I !oved Jade and Mitch together. Great read loved the unconditional love and the willingness from Amir to stick close to Monique and he loved her until she healed from the hurt. Malik found out the hard way don't mess with the McKnight men and their women!

Lover and Maniac

Amir and Mo’s story was a good time. I loved the way he loved and restored Mo. I loved watching her confidence rebuild and her boss up. The McKnight men don’t have the good sense God gave them and I loved every maniacal moment. This was such a great story. The antagonist did what it was supposed to and brought out the anger every good antagonist does. Jaseon still doesn’t have a lick of sense. His children are little terrors so I can only imagine what the next installment will bring. I am enjoying this series so much.

Okay, so after surviving Jayseon in Book 1, I was MORE than ready to jump into Amir and Mo’s story. And babyyyy… when I realized Amir was just as unhinged as his brother but in a calmer, more controlled way? Yeah, I knew I just had to hold on for the ride.

This man was ten toes DOWN behind Mo. He knew what he wanted and wasn’t playing about her at all. But at the same time, he also knew he deserved that same energy back, and my girl was this close 🤏🏽 to letting her past mess her up and make her miss out on a good man.

Once she finally got it together though? Oh, it was UP.

The way Amir loved her, showed up for her, and made her feel safe… you could really see Mo start to blossom when she was being loved the right way. And one thing about it nothing was coming between them. Not even the opps, and they definitely tried it.

And let’s not forget getting those little glimpses of Jayseon and Bebe because baby, they were the comic relief I didn’t know I needed 😂

If you haven’t started this series yet, go ahead and tap in. It’s drama, love, chaos, and ride-or-die energy all wrapped into one 🔥📚

Love Nek. Love her work. Love these foolish characters she’s written. Jay cracks me up 😭 and his bad behind kids! Please! Somebody put them in a separate time out. Amir & Monique’s love story was so cute. She thought she was fast but Amir was faster & wasn’t coming up off her. I kinda saw who the ex was gone be but satisfied with how his character arc ended. It brought me immense satisfaction lol.

When I say I was laughing and kicking my feet at the antics of Amir and his brother! This was such a beautiful romance between Monique and Amir. It was nice to also see the continuation and growth of Jaseon and Breonna as well.

Amir was a man loving a broken woman but he didn’t let her own stubbornness keep them apart. The two went through so much but the HEA, the surprise wedding 🥹 omgoodness my heart.

Loved by a certified maniac (Maniac series book 2)

This was a great story with a better ending. The brothers found true love with the sisters/best friends. I'm glad her ex and his minions are gone and never returning. All them babies and three sets of twins, I hope you write a book about the kids when get older because they act worse than their fathers. I'm so glad for the ladies and their family.

comedic HEA

This story was hilarious. The kids stole the show. I wanted to scream at Mo a time or two because she was going to let a good one get away if she didn’t get it her way. I loved Amir’s patience. Something is to be said about a man who can truly embody the meaning of love and show it. Their story had a lot to deal with, surprisingly on her end, and it was good to see them overcome it.

I may have enjoyed this one more than the first. There was something about Amir and Monique that I was immediately drawn to. They were introduced by the siblings in the first book, and watching their friendship blossom and develop there made this story even more rewarding. What really got me was Amir’s patience and understanding , it felt genuine, intentional, and so refreshing to read.

And because peace is never an option, we got drama, some shooting, and a truly unhinged ex. All in all, I had a great time on this journey.
