For thousands of years, personality types have offered fixed descriptions of who we are. In Personality Intelligence, award-winning author and personality expert Merrick Rosenberg—also known as the Bird Guy—takes it further and shows us how we can develop our personalities to become our best selves.
Utilizing his memorable Eagle, Parrot, Dove, and Owl personality styles, Rosenberg provides an intriguing glimpse into the neuroscience behind personality and human behavior. He introduces the idea that we can all advance through the four levels of Personality Intelligence—from struggling to express our natural talents to becoming adaptable Chameleons who are wildly successful at everything they do.
Through humorous and relatable fables, celebrity stories, and four subtly-named characters—Dawn Eagleton, Ian Parrotti, Scarlett Doveridge, and Carter Barnowl—Personality Intelligence provides a lens through which readers can clearly view their past, present, and potential selves.

This was a spectacular read. I think it’s a great move to write a motivational book that uses birds metaphors to describe different personalities, including the strengths and weaknesses of each one. Since I finished the book, I've been thinking about how this reading can be helpful for anyone. Im sure you can start by understanding which personality you are most like, the book then provides tools not only to discover this, but also to gain knowledge on the best way to talk to other 'bird' personalities. In addition, I think this book is a perfect fit for high school students. By knowing which kind of person they are, they can see key points to be able to choose, for example, a university career that fits perfectly with their true essence. Finally, I think I have a bit of each bird, but my perfect match is the Owl because its main characteristics are precision and attention to detail.
Personality Intelligence is a truly fascinating and eye-opening book for me. The book explores ways of understanding your own personality alongside those of others can dramatically boost relationships and increase self-assurance. I appreciated how the author made complex personality traits simple and engaging to digest. Certain sections of the book truly prompted introspection about my behavioral patterns and taught me to navigate friendships much wiser. The book also provides advice that can be used directly in real life and its guidance reveals the power of authenticity and understanding in easing the challenges of friendship, relationships, etc. Giving them depth and meaning. Definitely, I'd suggest this book to any friend aiming for better interpersonal skills.
This book is an automatic enhancer for its readers. The author is a genius in his approach, as he does not propose cumbersome or boring solutions, but rather brings a wealth of spectacular ideas endowed with surprising humor and insight.
The book is an invitation to learn how to take advantage of our most outstanding characteristics and, based on them, begin to develop new skills that will make us adaptable to different contexts and forums, literally becoming masters of words, ideas, and therefore people.
For people who need to take on leadership roles or who have high-profile positions, this book will serve them like no other. I recommend it 100%.
I genuinely enjoyed Personality Intelligence by Merrick Rosenberg because I believe it's fresh and practical, not like the typical personality book that puts you in a box and leaves you there. I really liked the idea that personality is not fixed. Rosenberg explains that we can grow beyond our default style, and that message feels empowering. The Eagle, Parrot, Dove, and Owl framework is simple and memorable. It makes complex ideas easy to understand without feeling simplistic.
