Amelia

Four years ago, I ran.

I had no choice-not with a newborn in my arms and a man I couldn't trust chasing shadows of control. I changed our names, left everything behind, and disappeared. Now, I've built a quiet life for my son and I on a remote Montana ranch. It's peaceful. Safe. Mostly.

Except for my boss.

Greyson McDermott is sin in worn denim-moody, gorgeous, impossible. From the moment we met, he's been hot and cold, driving me absolutely insane. His brother, thankfully, is easier to read and easier to trust. But something about both of them feels... off. Especially after I accidentally walked into their private club on my first night in town.

Let's just say it's not your average nightlife.

Now, I'm dreaming about Greyson in ways I shouldn't be, juggling secrets I can't afford to spill, and trying to ignore the growing heat between us. Because if I slip up-even once-it won't just be my heart on the line. It'll be my son's safety too.

Greyson

Hiring someone off the internet to help around the ranch seemed like a smart idea at the time.

Then she showed up.

Amelia. Sweet, stubborn, and completely unpredictable. She's cleaning my house, cooking for the crew, and testing every last bit of my self-control. From the second I saw her, I knew she was trouble. The kind of trouble I can't stop thinking about.

Of course, my brother's taken a liking to her-just to get under my skin. And it's working. Because I can't decide if I want to push her away... or pin her to the wall and hear her scream my name.

Then she walked into that club-my club-and all hell broke loose.

She's hiding something. I see it in her eyes. But so am I. And the longer she stays, the harder it gets to pretend I don't care.

Because the truth is, I want her. All of her. But wanting her might destroy us both.

I don't know if I can put into words what a great book this was. It is a book based on a true story, and it touched my heart. Parts of the book made me laugh out loud. Parts of it made me sad, but the ending had me sobbing.
This is a story about Amelia, who is in an abusive relationship. Then the day comes when she finally takes her son and flees. She fears for her and her sons life and just wants to get them somewhere safe. After being on the run for four years, she finds a job working at a ranch in Montana. This is where her life starts over. Into the picture comes Greyson her new boss and even though he is not very friendly he makes her feel safe, and her son Colt is thriving there.
Then the story goes on, there are some twists and turns, and some keep you on the edge of your seat moments. All in all, this book was a five-star read, and I loved it. I will definitely be recommending this book to my family and friends.

Read as an ARC reader. This story is very fast paced. Love the love story with a bit of stalking. I do feel there could have been more details about the club itself. As it felt like it was going to be big part when you first are introduced to Grayson. But overall a good story. Definitely need to check and pay attention to the trigger warning at the beginning.

First time reading a book by this author and I really liked it. The chemistry between Greyson and Amelia was excellent I just wish that the banter was a little more steamy. The side characters really rounded out the book perfectly Easton was hilarious and Colt was adorable. The drama and suspense had me on edge and Amelia's pass broke my heart. If you're looking for romantic suspense this is an excellent choice.

Mountain Escape follows the love story of Greyson and Amelia. When we begin the story with Amelia and her infant son running. We find out from what throughout the course of a few flashbacks and it isn't pretty. Later on, she shares her story with Grey and his brothers. Her past is not a happy one but Grey is determined to make sure Amelia feels safe at their ranch and protected.

This fast paced novella has character development, a great arc for both main characters, a sprinkle of a child who is adorable and will keep the read on their toes and shares a story of a woman who got out of a horrible previous relationship.

Please check the TW before diving in and some of the flashbacks can be triggering if you're a DV survivor. The author did an amazing job of making sure care was taken with Amelia and Grey's story.

Thank you to the author and Booksprout for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

With this being a true story, it made me feel the emotions deeper than I normally would. It is fast paced and keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout. It truly was hard to stop reading when I needed to go to sleep with all the twist and turns. The main characters Greyson and Amelia was well developed along with the charming Colt and Easton. It was well written with all the emotions being felt throughout. Just note this is a book with a trigger warning because of some of the subject matter so be sure to read them.

I loved how the FMC and MMC started their story. Crazy attraction with some sarcasm banter. It was a great love story. The found family with everyone on the ranch made it even better. This is a story I would definitely recommend to others.

Greyson and Amelia’s story is full of angst, stubbornness, and undeniable attraction. I loved the bond that Amelia (and Colt) quickly formed with Easton. This book was very fast paced but easy to keep up with. It did not end on a cliffhanger, but I am so curious about what happens next for Killian and the sister.

Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read 🌶️ spice Level

First of all, I want to say the following…Thank you for using this book to do two things ( of course l this is my opinion) :
1. Writing a book that describes a small piece of what you went through during your dark time. Saw your TIKTOK post
2. Sharing your book that shows your vulnerability, heart, soul , and strength of not only of a woman but that of a mother.

Now for the Review:

All I can say is make sure you read the trigger warnings. The realism of the scenarios of the horrific violence the FMC goes through is heart breaking.

I felt the fear, the loneliness, the pain, the way she felt trapped, the hopelessness, and the loss of not only her parents but her unborn baby girls. I had to take pause and walk away from the book at times.

By the time I reached a certain moment within this book, I literally took a deep breath and felt the tension in my body leave.

However, this story is more than that. It’s more than the darkest moments that I just describe. It’s about HOPE, SELF-DISCOVERY, SELF-WORTH, MOTHER’S LOVE, BELONGING, LOVE, TRUST, FRIENDSHIPS, FAMILY, and so so much more.

For me this is a story of a woman who persevered despite the odds. Had the courage to run and protect her child despite her fear. She found an amazing love interest that made her come back to life and remind her that she is more than her past. The MMC was the right amount of cowboy sexiness that can make anyone swoon.

This is what I love about books like Mountain Break. The rawness of how the story is written is what allows you to stay in the world the author is creating in your mind while you read.

After being in an abusive relationship, she knows she has to escape for the sake of her son. She is determined to make a better life for him, and flees. She ends up taking a position on a ranch in Montana, a place where she might be safe from the danger following her. The owners are brothers, one who makes things easy, and feels like a brother to her. The other one is a brooding alpha and she can't help being drawn to him, but tries to keep things professional for the sake of her job and her kid. There is a bit of a slow burn as they figure out what the chemistry is going to become between them as there is a lot at stake. This was an entertaining story with a little spice, but there were aspects that made the flow a little inconsistent. The whole underground club thing was not well executed, it didn't seem particularly relevant to the story and almost felt like it was inserted for the extra trope. It just clouded the rest of the story.

I had so much fun reading Amelia and Greyson’s story! It was such a thrilling ride with the right amount of sweetness and spice paired with a fast paced and action packed storyline! Amelia escapes with her young son from the life threatening abuse she suffered from who she thought was the love of her life. While on the run, she haphazardly takes a position on a ranch where she runs into devilishly attractive Greyson only to find out he is her new boss. Both of them try to keep it professional but the draw pulling them together makes that impossible. As their relationship forms, Amelia’s dangerous past lurks in the shadows. Definitely recommend this read for those who love hot and possessive alpha males that will stop at nothing to get the girl they love and keep her safe.

Mountain Escape drew me in from the first page and never let go. It’s more than just a romance—it’s a story of survival, trust, and the quiet strength it takes to start over.

Amelia’s character is so raw and relatable, especially in how fiercely she protects her son. Greyson is intense and complex, the kind of man whose silence says more than words. Their chemistry is electric, but what really moved me was how emotionally layered the story is.

The writing is smooth, the tension is real, and the Montana setting adds a haunting beauty that mirrors the characters’ inner lives. I wasn’t just reading, I felt every page.

If you love emotionally rich romance with secrets, healing, and heart, this one stays with you long after it’s over.

Greyson and Amelia. This will make your heart ach. It will break your heart in pieces then slowly put it back together. The story has her fleeing an ex that is abusive to find herself running and hidding for four years before coming to a ranch run by brothers. One is like a brother and the other is a little stand offish but she feels safe around him and her son loves it there. This is a story with ups and downs and healing from tramatic events such as abuse, loss, kidnapping and depression. There is some humor. The story is well written with wonderfully emotional charecters all around. I felt like I was there watching.

4.5⭐
This is a cowboy romance where she works for him. Amelia and her son Colt are on the run from her abusive husband Mark. She finds a job in a small town, working on Greyson's ranch. They have immediate attraction but ignore it for months but just when they give in they have the rude awakening of someone breaking into their house. Her ex is back and determined to get what's "his."
The only issue I had with it was that the end didn't seem realistic compared to the vibes and thoughts mark was having.

Amelia and Greyson pull you into their story. The relationship between them develops over time. I loved the banter between Greyson and his brother, Easton. Easton is like a brother to Amelia and a true friend in her time of need.

I will definitely be reading this again in the future.

This book had a lot of potential. I just questioned some of the relevance. The underground club? That was brought up like twice, what was the purpose? It felt very rushed, things could have been explained better. I did enjoy the stalker bits in the story. All in all, there just needed to be more
