Secrets unravelled. Powers revealed. Who can I trust, and who's telling the truth?
--
I'm realizing things aren't always what they seem...Especially when my magic is revealed to be more than I could have ever imagined.
The king says he protects people. The books say he united the kingdoms.
So why do I feel uneasy when I discover the existence of a secret rebellion? Why do I worry about the very people who showed me kindness when I was all alone?
Um, what just happened? That cliffhanger?! WHAT?!? I need book three right now because I simply cannot wait any longer for an explanation! Also, my intuition was right about a certain character… I knew it. Something just wasn’t right.
I enjoyed book two way more than book one. Not to say book one is bad because it’s not. I loved it. Book two just has everything I want in a fantasy novel. The lust. The love. The betrayals. The self-discovery. The friendships. It was incredible. I read it in less than 24 hours. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. It kept pulling me in deeper and deeper. I still have so many unanswered questions… UGH! If you haven’t read either book in the Threads of Chaos series, you need to get on it right now. Like right now.
Thank you so so so much to Aubrey Winters for letting me be a part of her ARC team and giving me this copy in exchange for an honest review. Seriously, thank you.
Also, to my new friend Aubrey, I need more of Tristan and Ash… specifically Ash. They both make my heart happy, but Ash, he does something to my soul… if you know what I mean.
Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book that was just released on July 30th called, The Chaos Ruined. This is book 2 in the Threads of Chaos series. The story continues right where book 1 (The Chaos Weaver) left off. Everly has been training and working on honing and understanding her magical abilities. She figures out the beasts are not dangerous like she originally thought. She also finds out the life she has grown accustomed to in this kingdom, is not what it seems. Lies have been told, things have been twisted, and she doesn't know what to believe anymore. Once she can finally see the truth for herself, her heart doesn't want to believe it. She struggles with doubt and self worth throughout this story, a topic so relatable and really well written. There was also growth for her character throughout this story, and I can tell there will be even more in the next book! This story has been such a fun ride and I am eager to see where it goes (although that ending was not fair lol!) I am so excited for the next book! 💜📚
Thank you to the author and the publisher for this ARC of The Chaos Ruined, in exchange for an honest review.
OMG WOW!!!!! I’m absolutely speechless at that cliffhanger ending!! Aubrey had me hooked from the beginning with this one. I had so many questions from book 1 and almost all of them were answered in this one THANKFULLY 👏🏻😮💨😅! Even though I knew there was something suspicious about Aldrin, and being a romantasy fanatic—can’t always trust the first love interest—I just knew our girl Everly was going to have her trust and her heart broken by him, BUT DAMN SIR! 😩😭 That being said, I can already foresee some enemies to lovers brewing between Everly and Ash 😏🫢🫣 I will be disappointed if that tension doesn’t go somewhere between them, BUT our girl deserves some love she gives so much of herself to everyone else and is so hopeful and optimistic and giving and caring. It broke my heart to feel her heart break over Ama hurting her, Aldrin hurting her, and even Tarin and Selene hurting her albeit mostly unwilling on their part. I thought that was an interesting aspect that Aubrey added that Tarin and Selene were magically bound to do Aldrin’s bidding. How did he do that? And what did it look like? What was the significance of the blood magic Aldrin did with Everly and why didn’t Selene tell Everly her thoughts on it (or could she not willingly tell her)? I also love the idea of Everly coming to terms with the idea of her powers not being bad, but as a gift! Her bond with her shadow beasts is so lovely and just what she needs and gives her clarity that she’s not alone. So what is the origin of her powers? That is my main question now. Why was Ama so deluded into thinking that Everly stole her life? Did something, like Aldrin or another, promise that life to her previously? When Aldrin caught them all with Ama unconscious there at the end I was soooo nervous that he was going to do something to Everly instead 😓 I was so excited to see that Julien showed up at the end, but it was so unexpected! I fully expected Ash and Tristan to bust in and whisk away Everly. I’m so anxious to see what happens next and now I have more questions! I just hope that Everly and Julien make it out alive and ok and can reunite safely in book 3 and can figure out the next steps together. Does Julien also have chaos weaver magic??? 😱🫣👀 They are twins so I feel like that theory is plausible. I also want to know more about what’s happened to Julien while Everly was staying with the king. Ahhh I just loved it so much and I can’t wait for the next one!!

Wow, that ending!!! I'm so bummed this was an ARC because I'm already desperate for book three! 😪 I liked the first book, but this one blew it out of the water. I was completely obsessed – even dreaming about it! So glad my feelings about the king were spot on. Also, I'm low key hoping for a little enemies-to-lovers arc between Ash and Everly im book 3 🤣
AUBREY!!!!! What the heck with that cliffhanger 😭 I've got a book hangover in the best type of way!!! I need the next one asap You've outdone yourself on this one. Everly, Ash ugh I need more! Started with a bang and ended with continuously going back and forth on the last pages
Thank you for the opportunity to he an ARC reader. This had quickly become a favorite.
I really enjoyed the 2nd book of the series and all the new characters introduced!! It was full of action and new information about the world!!
I was amused by the dynamic Everly has with Ash and Tristan, their interactions were hilarious and I can already see the chemistry there!!! 😉😉
I also loved how the friendship between Selene, Tarin and Everly developed and really relieved that my instinct was correct and they weren’t like their “precious” king!!
Another character that I’d love to see more of is Liam, it seems like he has a lot of similarities with Everly and they give that family vibe!!
As for Aldrin, the red flags were there from the beginning and the only one blindsided was Everly! It should have been obvious to her after the magic transfer scene, what her lover really wanted from her and his motives!
Same goes for Ama, she was way less subtle than Aldrin and she shows her true colors multiple times!! It was only a matter of time to snap and go feral…still she didn’t deserve what happened to her!!
The ending was brutal and shame on you Aubrey for doing this to us…you better have that 3rd book ready soon!!
Honestly my thoughts after the end, were that we have a million things pending, many different directions for the story to develop and I have no clue how all those will fit into the next book… ( cause I don’t have the patience to wait for more than that )

If I had to give a 3 word review, it would be “Oh. My. God.” I can’t believe this is the first series I read from this author. I’m mad because I need the third book NOW but the second book hasn’t even been published yet. There’s betrayal that I didn’t see coming. There’s betrayal that was hinted but I still didn’t see it coming. There’s new alliances and there’s developments in Everly’s powers that make me so proud of her. So many times I wanted to hug her and comfort her in this book. I’m so ready for the third book to find out what happens after the major cliff hanger!! If I could, I’d give this series 10/5 stars. I’m definitely going to be looking into other books from this author.
SO. DAMN. GOOD!! This book knocked my socks off and made me love Everly! She stood up even when she was knocked down. There was heartache, betrayal, character development and a cliffhanger!! This book had so much more going on than the first and I am so glad I continued on this journey! I can’t wait for book 3!!
I Could not put this book down. I did realize that to me it reads as a YA book more than a romantasy/Adult fantasy book. Once I adjusted my mindset as to what I was reading I just devoured the book. I do think that the book could've had more to it. It felt rushed and some parts definitely felt lacking.
I can't wait to read book 3, honestly that ending had me on the edge of my seat and I just wanted to keep reading. As a mom with a young child, finishing this book at 12:30 AM was most likely a mistake but I just couldn't stop reading and I was really just wanted to keep reading but I did run out of pages.
I hope I can get an ARC of book 3 because I can't wait to dive back into this series
The sequel to The chaos weaver was amazing. Really good fantasy book , perfect for people who like Sarah j Maas. You to see the main character develop her magic skills , the magic in the book is necromancy magic Action and a little spice It does end on a cliff hanger though so I am desperate to see how the rest of the story unfolds
OH.MY.GOSH!!!!! This book was hands down absolutely amazing. It took me on a journey I didn’t not see coming. Everything you want out of a fantasy, the betrayal, the romance, the friendships, the MC development and the way they grow. It was such a good read but the cliffhanger at the end had me screaming. I NEED answers!! I also should’ve trusted my gut on one of the characters, if you know you know.. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. If you haven’t read the Threads of Chaos series I would 100% recommend you do. This series is above and beyond 5stars. Can’t wait to see where the story goes and carry on this adventure through this series.
Thank you again to Aubrey Winters for allowing me to be a part of her Arc group.
Definitely a lot of setup and world-building in this book, which makes sense because it’s the second book in the series. The first book introduced us to most but not all of the major players (we meet the rest in this book) and to the basics of the world. Aubrey does a great job of explaining more about the mechanics of magic and the politics of this world in the plot of this book. Everly spends a lot of time doing stuff that moves the plot forward in this book.
Onto the characters themselves, Everly is developing into a stronger character over the course of these books. That much is evident by how she handles herself with Selene, Tarin, and Ash. I actually wish we had some chapters from Selene's or Tarin’s POV, but I can see how that would have given away a lot of the secrets too early in the game. Ultimately, though, Everly is still too naive for her own good at the moment and still slower on the uptake given what’s going on, so I can see why certain people are as annoyed with her as they are. Aldrin is concerning, he’s definitely giving me Tamlin in ACOMAF vibes in the early part of this book, and I can’t and won’t go into details, you’ll just have to read it! All I’ll say is that Ash is very obviously going to end up playing a role similar to Rhysand eventually. Those are the vibes. Ash also reminds me a bit of Ravyn from the Shepherd King duology. He’d be an interesting point of view if Aubrey went in for dual POVs.
The creatures make this book interesting. I like the way Aubrey is handling Everly’s magic; it’s a cool power. The shadow beasts are a really interesting mechanic. Whoever Everly shares the shadow beasts with also makes for a very telling system of figuring out which characters are trustworthy and which ones aren’t.
This book ends with two HUGE cliffhangers, one which will leave you horrified and one which is going to leave you with a lot of questions about the how. I have my theories on how, so hopefully we’ll get the backstory to that in book three. I don’t know if this is meant to only be a trilogy or if more than three books are planned. I’m hoping it’s more than three because there is way too much plot and way too many loose ends for me to feel like this can have a satisfying ending with only one more book.
The Chaos Ruined is book two in the Threads of Chaos series. Let me tell you, this book had me hooked from the beginning! I am especially grateful that I was able to dive into reading right after the first.
This book is even better than the first. I enjoyed it so much!
Book one is good but book two is great. I loved it. Book two just has everything one could want in a fantasy novel. The lust, the love, the betrayals, the self-discovery, the friendships. It was an incredible journey.
Everly continues to struggle with doubt and self worth throughout this story, a topic so relatable and really well written. There was also growth for her character throughout this story.
I devoured this story. Once I began, I couldn’t stop reading. It kept drawing me deeper and deeper into its world. I still have so many unanswered questions…The cliffhanger left me needing to know what comes next. I am anxiously awaiting the next book.
If you haven’t read either book in the Threads of Chaos series, you absolutely must read them right now. Like, right now.
Thank you @authoraubreywinters for being able to read this!
"This version of him walks the line between sanity and madness, driven by his duty to protect and the ghosts of those he feels he's failed."
Holy cannoli. Hello plottwists?! For every question that was answered, 3 more questions took their place.
I looooved the whole plot of this book. The growth in Everly, the truth of King Aldrin, the answers given by Tarin and Selene.. and hello?! Our two new companions!
I absolutely sat on the edge of my seat for the last two chapters. The cliffhanger made me nearly scream in frustration because I want MORE!
Aubrey's writing once again pleased me immensely. The story was interesting, the world building was good but not too much and the plot twists were insane. She knows how to keep us on our toes!
I can't wait to eventually get book three and with it hopefully more answers, more shadow companions and more banter with our two new buddies. This cliffhanger made me 10x more excited!! ✨🤍
This book was amazing!! I was having so much trouble getting through book 1 because my brain just wasn't feeling the King's vibes or the way Everly was just so trusting. But book 2? This completely knocked me for a loop, the way it slowly becomes clear that nothing we have seen so far is true, the way Everly has to slowly admit that the things she has believed could all be a mistake?
I was on my toes the whole time and I just know that the way Ash and Tristan have slowly wormed their way in will be the best opening for what's to come in the rest of the series.
Aubrey Winters said she felt like this was her best work yet and I can completely agree! This was a fantastic book and I cannot wait for book 3 ❤️

I really love this series so far! Getting to know and grow with Everly has been fun! However, the plot twist is what had me gasping! Still on the hunt for her missing twin brother, Everly is trying to figure out how to control her powers and use them to her advantage. Navigating a new world is no easy task but at least she has the friendship of the kings 2 knights right? Or is that just what it seems? After fining out some new information about the King, Everly is torn. The hurt, the lies, the betrayal…What is true and what isn’t? A whirlwind of emotions, each conflict leading up to what feels like the center of the plot in this series. I literally can’t wait for the next book to release! Cause that cliffhanger was rough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 | 🌶️🌶️
4.5 stars!! (Goodreads really needs to give us half stars already)
I really loved this book. I devoured it and was beyond happy to be given an arc for this book as the first ended on a cliffhanger. Spoiler! This one does too!
I KNEW deep in my bones that Aldrin is not a good guy, the way he talked to her was driving me crazy. The “oh I just care about you” “I’m just so worried about you” “I don’t want you to get hurt” “oh let me take some of your magic from you, and put it into me” nawwww I knew he was up to no good. The straight manipulation from that man. Oooof I hope he gets what’s coming to him.

Thank you Aubrey Winters for letting me read this AMAZING ARC ❤️
Spice : 🌶 🌶 Holy Plot Twists!!!!!! 😍😍😍 Badass FMC CRAZY UNIQUE MAGIC MUST READ FOR 2025!!!!!!!
This series has had me hooked since The Choas Weaver! I devoured book one and book 2 OMGOODNESS! Love the dynamics in this book! Such a fresh intriguing fantasy! I love Everly's kind trusting heart and badass powers! (FMC)This book broke down her powers and I was left in awe!!!!! You have to read it! Loved the surprises! Twists and turns! left me wanting more at every turn!
I LOVE when a series just keeps you on your toes and just keeps getting better and better!
I had this feeling about a certain character and let's just say he did not disappoint! You can't help but have a sexy villian! Keeps this intriguing to say the least!
The world building in this series just keeps getting better I'm so excited for the 3rd BOOK!!!!!!
ARC Review 📚 Aubrey Winters has easily created my favorite fantasy series 🤯 i am HOOKED. the way Aubrey builds tensions is absolutely amazing🙂↕️ the tension when Everly discovers Selene and Tarin aren't involved willing was 🤌🏼 i love that we got more of Everlys powers in this book. i definitely enjoyed Everly changing her mindset on her powers: rather than curse, more of a gift. i want to see her powers in action more. i do wish we wouldve gotten more out of Everly & Zevriel though. also, the ending?!!! i am anticipating the next book, i need answers NOW😭 i will forever be recommending this series to everyone!!

I inhaled this book! If you are into necromancy 🧟♂️, an animal lover 🐾, royalty 👑, dragon lore 🐉 - you will be hooked. There was never a dull moment. The plot builds and builds. I can’t share too much without spoilers but this is the 2nd book in the series and I will warn you it ends on a cliffhanger! 😵 I was blessed to receive an arc and I am now a huge fan of this author. I’m impatiently waiting for book 3! Fantasy fans please read.
Thank you Aubrey & team for the ARC! LOVED this book! This one burns in the best way. A slow-burn fantasy full of dragons, rebellion, and tension that crackles on every page. The stakes are higher, the magic more intense—and that cliffhanger? Absolutely savage. So glad she's already working on book 3!
⭐⭐⭐ - This one definitely made book 1 better IMO. I think if you read book 1 and 2 as 1 big book it's a good book and book 2 separate holds up as well. I will definitely be checking out book 3. I think the author resolved some of the pacing issues I had with the last book and I found myself much more invested in what was happening a few chapters into this one.
This is a wonderful continuation to the series! The characters continue to grow in great ways. I had expected Everly to grow into a stronger heroine, but she has actually grown to be somewhat annoying in this book. I'm hoping she grows stronger and more into herself in the next book. Otherwise, I greatly enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down!
Let me start of by saying that Aubrey Winters did it again! Book two was even better than book one, so can’t wait to get my hands on book three!
The Chaos Ruined delivers long-awaited answers to the mysteries of book one, shattering illusions and revealing shocking truths. Everly discovers she has been lied to more than she ever imagined, the supposedly benevolent King Aldrin is far from the ruler he pretends to be, and his ‘loyal’ knights are not so loyal after all. As her eyes are finally opened, Everly unlocks her terrifying power and brings dead creatures back to life, even a dragon!
With betrayals exposed and dangerous forces rising, I’m on the edge of my seat to see how this will all explode in book three!
Special thanks to the author for the chance to be on the ARC-team ❤️

I am so glad I saw Aubrey's search for ARC readers. Book 1 was a great intro into this world. It drew me in and made me want to know more. Book 2 felt like the juicy filling with a massive cliffhanger. I still need more of this world and these characters! I can't wait for book 3....
Just finished this and it definitely picked up quicker than book 1 which is good. Super annoyed that it just ended, I need to know what happens next!!!! lol I wish there was more of the rebels really love their interactions with Everly. Her powers are super cool and I really enjoyed watching them grow in this book especially graduating to raising a dragon. Looking forward to the next one!

I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for this book. I must say I can’t wait for the next one!
It follows the next part of Everlys journey finding out the truths to this new world and how amazing her powers are.
This book is relatable in some aspects with how relationships with people can be and what is seen isn’t always correct and how people can have a front on the them.
The worst part was how it was left on a cliff hanger. I’m desperate to know the next part! Hopefully the 3rd book will come soon!
A must read for any fantasy reader! However I did find some parts I was able to predict what was gonna happen. Despite that I enjoyed it!

ARC Review: This book knocked my socks off! I’m still fairly new to the romantasy genre but Aubrey Miller is a great addition. I love seeing Everly’s powers grow and how she learns of them, and I’m really excited to see what happens with Stormforge.
The King sucks, which I saw coming a mile away and felt bad for Everly being too wrapped up in his charm to see it.

Ok, first off, I don’t do spoilers. With that being said:
Everly, my dear, sweet, Everly. I spent half of the book raging at you, and then half of the book raging for you. But I’ve a got a bone to pick with Miss Aubrey Winters, because what the hell is that cliffhanger??? Thanks for putting me in your ARC group for both of these books and I can’t wait to read book 3!
