So far it's great! I'm only on day five, but I highly recommend it. This book takes you through a forty day character makeover that will, if you truly apply yourself, bring you closer to God. The author and co-author explore 8 character traits.

This book was incredibly helpful to me in (embarking upon) building character traits of courage, humility, generosity, patience, and confidence. I found the writer trustworthy, humble, and wise (though I don't agree with everything she says, the things I disagree with don't disrupt her main point/message). Highly recommend.

Awesome book that helps you focus on you and the things you need to work on. I loved the exercises which made me put a lot of thought into improving ME. It also helped me see things about myself that I had not seen before; good and bad.

I completed the Beth Moore bible study, Breaking Free, last spring. I was looking for something to follow the study that would strengthen what I had just learned about freedom in Christ. Though this study was not specifically on that topic it did incorporate chapters on many of the issues I wanted to "break free" from or just areas where I wanted to improve. Examples in the order they appear in the book include: humility, confidence, courage, self-control, patience, etc. Though I found the introduction to each section annoying (an imaginary chat and meeting with the author at various imagined locations,) I gleaned much from the following sections of the study: instruction, action steps, scripture, books to read for further information and a prayer. This book was exactly what I was looking for, simple in many ways yet profound if you apply yourself to it's scripture and action steps.

This book was difficult to get through at times--mostly because it's really not fun to intentionally enter a period of self-reflection--but was really eye-opening. I actually bought and began reading this book eight years ago (!!!) but didn't really focus on getting through it. When I picked it up this time, I was in a place where I wanted to self reflect, which helped tremendously in my attitude (and perseverance). I will probably come back to this book over and over again.

If you choose to read it, go at your own pace.

This was an excellent study book. I wouldn't recommend it to someone on their own, though. The book was well written and included powerful messages and beautifully written prayers. However, a lot of the message I got was through continued discussion and sharing in our small group. I would highly recommend it for someone even if it was just to share with one other partner and complete the study that way.

I really enjoyed this study. Lots of great suggestions about some important things. I am sure I will keep coming back to look at this when I feel like I could use some refreshers on a particular subject. Would highly recommend.

I listened to this one on audio, in my standard 20-minute a day segments, and finally got through after about 12 years of it being on my shelf. It was exactly what I needed at the time and even though some of it felt dated, I enjoyed it well enough to give it 4🌟.
