Unexpectedly loved this story and cannot wait for the next volume!
When Pharm wakes up from a bad dream and starts his first day at college, he’s excited about all the new things he’s about to experience. When his eye catches Dean, the team captain of the swim team, something in him tingles with familiarity. Is Dean someone he’s been unknowingly searching for his entire life?
Gawd damn, the way this book started and ended had me gasping. This one has very lovable characters (and side characters) with depth, defined personalities and backstories, and the story is one that I’m just excited to see unfold. The artwork is one I jived with and super cute.
I love this and definitely recommend this cute and intriguing BL story!
Apparently this was also a novel? I’ll have to look it up!
The art slays. The story is perfect. And then I realized I’ve seen this film before?!?!?!?!?! And all the memories came back from how much I loved the show. But seeing it in its true art form is spectacular. 10/10.
Help I am Obsessed with this manga. It's such a trip, it's wild, the plot moves at the speed of light, yet it's all around a really fun time??
Okay, first and foremost, I am OBSESSED with how there is absolutely no warning or suggestion anywhere on this book that five pages in Like holy shit, I nearly lost my mind. I was not expecting it, and it took the manga from 0 to 100 in an instant. What a bold choice. And one I actually really liked! I've read a good bit of reincarnation manga, and in my experience, it's very rare to actually show what happened in the previous life, especially if things ended like that. So I love that they actually showed us with happened. I also LOVE that the trauma of that event carries into their new lives, with Pharm being scarred of loud noises. That is SUCH a great concept to me, and I really love it.
The plot moved insanely fast, but unlike most manga where that ends up ruining the pacing and character development for me, it kind of worked here? Yeah, it was a bit clunky with how characters sometimes just brought things up and how we jumped from key event to key event, but it never felt like it was doing a disservice to the story. It just made the story move quickly, which was probably a good thing, considering Pharm and Dean don't interact until about the last fourth of the book, so it makes sense that the plot needed to be sped along to get them together. That being said, the fast pace of the plot was insanely funny at times, such as
Overall, I have no complaints. I had such a good time reading it, that nothing about it bothered me. I am really excited to read the next volume.
I just can’t find something nice to say. The MC is such a bottom bitch it genuinely feels homophobic. He can’t do anything without crying or having a panic attack. There’s no chemistry. I’m expected to believe that the whole past lives thing is why they’re drawn together again? You could explain it off as them being soulmates but that just feels lazy. The whole past lives thing threw me through such a loop the way it was introduced, I didn’t even realize that the flashback started. I bought the second one just to finish what I’ve started.
reading this volume just took me back to 2020 during the pandemic when i first binged watched ‘until we meet again.’ no matter what form the story is told, i will always devour deanpharm’s cheesy love story. inkorn still makes my heart ache and break but team, manaow, win, dean, and pharm repairs it
Bro. Started off WILD—like what the fuck 😭 in a traumatizing way. The rest of it was so cute, and the angst, the YEARNING. Too good. The soul mate trope remains superior.
So, I went into this already knowing the story because I had already watched the Thai series (Until We Meet Again). I can see how new readers going into this might get confused. At first, I thought they were going to darken the pages to indicate memories from past lives as a visual indicator of what is past incarnation versus present day. It started out like that, but nope. So I can see how readers might get confused. Since I'm already familiar with the story it wasn't an issue for me.
Did I love it? Sort of yes, but also no? Its contradictory mostly cause my heart is with the 2nd leads and without spoiling here I won't name them, but I hope they get a spin-off manga BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY WANT TO READ THAT. But, I was so excited to hear that Yen Press translated into English the Japanese manga adaptation of the Thai novel. I have not read the original novel (Please someone pick it up to publish the physical copies in english!!!!)
As the main couple, Pharm and Dean aren't my favorite from the show, but for some reason I can handle them better in manga form. When trying to figure out why, several reasons pop up. I understand Pharm has hyperventation syndrome with trauma rooted in his past life, but after a while (especially in the show) Pharm gets reduced to that. He is more than his condition. But because we are reading this in manga form, it focuses less on that because it's paced faster and runs right through.
Note that this story is love at first sight (not a trope that I usually like) with flashes of Pharm and Dean remembering bits and pieces of their past selves. We are getting a bit more background in the manga that I don't recall from the series (granted it's been a while since the show aired and my memory isn't perfect). And to clarify, it is a "bit" more background. With this being a manga, it can't nearly pack in as much as the novel because of the medium. But for example, the sample chapter at the end I dont recall from the series. Those added moments really show me more of Pharm's personality (both his past and present self) that doesn't just reduce it to his trauma and for me that got lost in the show. Also the manga art form really lends itself to the quirks of facial expressions and movements that just adds more character. So, for me I enjoyed this adaptation so far with volume 1. I think the editing could be tighter for this especially for new readers, but overall a 3 stars for me.
I almost cried within the first few pages and then spent the rest of the book heartbroken and in love. This is a star crossed lovers reincarnation love story. So the character’s story could potentially go on for many books if we got to see more than one past life, seeing as how I’m assuming that wasn’t their first life together at the very beginning.
I’m not usually a lover of insta love, but this book has to do with being in love over lifetimes, so them being in love from the moment they meet makes sense to the story. This was just a really feel good book that I enjoyed immensely.
This was definitely worth a read and I can’t wait to see how the story progresses.
Watched the live action series and read a fan translation of the Thai novel. I must say, the story translates very well into manga medium. In fact, I actually like the manga version over the live action series. There is just a certain nuance in the characters' expressions and actions that was captured well in the manga, and huge kudos to the mangaka who picked it up. In fact, the characters seemed to have more personality and seemed more 3 dimensional compared to the live action, but I guess it is really up to artistic interpretation, and this one just seemed to have more of an edge. And unlike the live action series, the manga does not take itself way too seriously, and has a slightly more light-hearted tone to counter-balance the heaviness of some of the past-life scenes.
This is even sadder than the show 😭😭😭🤧🤧🤧 The show was sooo true to the book though 🥹🤌🏽🤌🏽 It breaks my heart Korn and In my babies you deserve a happy ending SOB 😭 and they found each other 🥹 The casting of each of them was perfect like fuck they did a good job 🥹😌🤌🏽 and my baby WINNNN with his tattoos 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 AHHHH I also finished volume 2 and damn I want volume 3 and 4 but I can’t find an English or Spanish translation 😭 If anyone has one pleaseeee let me know 💖🤔 XXXXXXX
I had some questions about this translation and why the names changed so often. The concept is a great one, but the execution was not my favorite. I felt like Korn and In’s story was 10x more interesting than the main characters’. I just didn’t feel like either Pharm nor Dean had real personalities aside from medical conditions?
I forgot how much I loved this story, it’s been 4 years since I watched the Thai drama ‘Until we meet again’ based on this original plot and oh man it feels so good to be back with these characters again! I missed them. It’s perfectly accurate too and so so cute, I can’t wait to read more of this series!
This book has two timelines with the same couple. It's very cute to see them in the past lives then in their current and how they act when they see each other again, also gives me "Check Please" vibes with the little guy Pham being a cook/baker and the tall one Dean being a sports guy.
Really vibing with this one so far! I’m a sucker for reincarnation romance/angst and the characters are all very likable, both the main couple and the friends. Plus the art style is cute. I’ll definitely have to pick up the next volume.
"Enveloped in the light of the sun, I made a vow from bottom of my heart. I would cherish this light even if it meant putting my life on the line to protect it."
So this manga was nothing like I expected it to be - the story seriously had me tearing up at so many occasions, especially with the beautiful flashbacks woven in and seeing them both cry at the sight of each other without being able to explain it.
Our beloved mc's died from double suicide in their past life with the promise to find each other again in the next. Pharm suffers from dreams with glimpses from said life every night that often have him waking up in tears, while Dean feels drawn to Pharm in a way he can't explain. There's several things that link them together from their previous life (for example, Dean's favourite cooking is thai, which is what Pharm always loves to make). Slowly, their romance rekindles, as the two get closer and closer.
There was just something so deeply touching about this story. It felt so poetic In its story telling. The chemistry is there from the start and we get to see many moments of their past life together. I found the plot so deep and clever and it really took the idea of the red thread to a whole other level. It was very cute and sweet. I also felt like I could relate to Pharm in a lot of ways and it was nice seeing a character with a fear of loud noises - something I suffer from myself and that a lot of people don't always understand.
I can't wait to follow the next chapter of their story in volume 2!

This was a really unique story, starting with a pretty hardcore Romeo and Juliet style double suicide, so it was emotional from the get go. Possibly a bit too much for me, because it just threw you into that violent scene without any time to get emotionally invested in the characters. It was quite shocking and melodramatic. That said, it was absolutely necessary to the rest of the story because it would have been too mysterious and strange if you didn't front load that information. The rest of the relationship comes back in sweet fragments, even though the main storyline is occurring in the present.
The main story does a great job of capturing that yearning, nostalgic feeling that both characters are feeling. Aside from the whole 'finding each other in the next life' business, it's an otherwise sweet love story of two college kids who more or less fall in love at first sight, but then are weirdly slow about progressing it from there. Without the messy backstory, it would get boring pretty quick.
The art is good, but I did find one of the MCs to be drawn in a distractingly young way. He just looks like a kid the whole time, which makes the romance feel weird.
Overall, I would probably finish this if all the volumes had been released, but as is, I'm not sure if I'll remember it enough to pick it up in a year or two when the complete translation has been released/when the story is finished.
