A Spirited Accusation

Rate this book
Quinn Delaney is struggling to keep mum about her paranormal midlife. Thankfully, she has her best friend Toni Miller to confide in.

Secrets between them are usually off limits.

Except, a non-disclosure agreement keeps Toni’s lips sealed about outrageous events that happened during a reality show where she fell head over heels in love.

That secret is driving Quinn crazy.

She wants the best for her bestie, but when Quinn finds a Bookend Bay baker dead, she must rethink what’s best when the baker’s ghost points a finger at her murderer—the new love of Toni’s life.

It can’t be true!

But can Quinn take that chance and keep her friend safe while hunting for a killer?

Then the ghost of Toni’s beloved husband enters the mix, and Quinn soon learns he’s not the man she remembers.

Suddenly, she’s the one keeping secrets from Toni.

As the two best friends follow a trail of clues to find the truth behind the baker’s murder, Quinn worries if her friendship with Toni can survive the horrendous spirited accusation.

Grace and Frankie meet Murder She Wrote in this cozy, paranormal mystery with twists and turns that will keep you reading into the night!

About the author

Clare Lockhart

42 books59 followers
Clare Lockhart writes light-hearted, paranormal, cozy mysteries featuring middle-aged sleuths who are going through a few changes. Some are welcome (freedom to live the dream) and some not so much (supernatural abilities and a rash of murders).

If you like reading about best friends who find themselves in the odd pickle, twisty murder plots, and cheeky, paranormal visitors, then you’re in the right place.

Clare lives in a small town, a stone’s throw from Lake Ontario, in Canada, and has recently taken up sailing with her partner John. Sailing has to be one of her most challenging and rewarding life experiences. She loves to read, of course, travel and is a bit of a foodie.

Clare comes by her interest in the paranormal honestly. Her dad loved this stuff, so it was natural for her to believe there was more to our world than we perceive. Therefore, you may find a ghost, a psychic witch, and even a parallel universe in her stories.

She also writes time travel romance under the pen name Sharon Clare.

Love this series. This book is a little different in that there is more romance, but it's part of the character arcs. And there's a reality TV show. And this time, the ghost isn't asking Quinn to solve her murder. She tells Quinn who murdered her, and asks her to get them arrested. Also Toni's husband who died years ago finally shows up as a ghost, creating issues all over the place. Again, a fun and fast read with great characters.

Midlife is Murder

This was book 6 in the series and a few lose ends were tied up with the characters lives. Wonderful story that kept me entertained. Something that stood out to me in this series was the author slipping in useful information. She did it in a way that worked well with each story. I am definitely going to reread these books and take notes.

Apparently end of series

Satisfying end to the series. A woman's death looks accidental but the spirit world knows better, and the ghosts call on Quinn to figure it out.
