Just a girl who loves to read and write dark books with lots of triggers. Coffee is a necessity not a luxury. Stephen king is one of the greatest writers of all time. While I love the color black because it goes with everything, pink and glitter are my favorite colors. I love fall and winter more than summer, and dark, gloomy, rainy weather is my favorite. I love snacks and naps; snacks and naps are the absolute best.
The story itself was poorly written. I was recommended this book by a group on Facebook, which is the only reason I read it. However, the grammar made me feel like I was trudging through mud, struggling to even get through this.
Unfortunately, I just found that this book wasn't as fleshed out as Sorrell's other work in 'Jeffrey', which had more of a cohesive story and also was just slightly better formulated to the point. I found this book was a bit undercooked. It had some great potential with some fantastic scenes and some awful gore, but it was unfortunately not there for me in terms of sewing it all together.
I think this book would have benefited from a clearer line between the A and B plots, and just more clarity for the characters. I got a sense of the characters, but unfortunately not outside of the abuse and the horrible happenings - while there was the odd nice moment, it just wasn't put together well, and I found myself going through the gore with no real purpose in mind.
I thought that this book had a lot of potential, and I can see that it's trying to go to the darkest possible places - it just didn't quite get there for me.
Reads like an erotic novel for someone who is into r*pe and FGM. Definitely wouldn’t ever recommend any one ever reading this. Wasted a few hours of my time I’ll never get back.
I am at a loss for words. This book hits all the triggers. It was disturbing. But I could not put it down. If you like your books dark and twisted, then this book is an A+ in that. I recommend if you have any triggers, do not read this book. But, if you like your books dark and twisted as I do, then you will love this book as much as I did.
This book definitely lives up to its trigger warnings. Felicia’s journey is a testament to her resilience, given the harsh circumstances of her upbringing with her parents and grandfather. The narrative is dark and twisted, with the antagonist evoking a sense of dread akin to Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs—cruel and remorseless in their actions. The story takes some unexpected turns, and the ending is particularly compelling. It’s worth reading to uncover how everything unfolds.
Wow, this book was so twisted, and I loved every minute of it. I have been reading nothing but smutty books for the last couple of weeks, so this was definitely the change that I was looking for. It was dark, it was sick, it was twisted, yet I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read more of Shonda's books!
What a roller coaster! I absolutely loved the way this story was told, the back and forth between the two timelines. The trigger warning are real so pay attention but if you can get through it, it’s worth it! Can’t wait to read more by this author!
the plot would’ve been good if there weren’t so many spelling and grammar errors. the writing was somewhat poor, but the story and plot itself was good. definitely read the trigger warnings before reading!
This was a fabulously dark and twisted read! Make sure to check the trigger warnings! Written amazing with intricate detail! Definitely going on my favorites list!
Make sure you read the trigger warning before reading! A fantastic read about a girl been abused and tortured all her life, a great story with some brutal scenes, a very dark novel.
I loved this book as weird as that sounds. The FMC’s story is so devastating and I have a love/hate relationship with the ending, but it fits the story. Definitely check the trigger warnings because this isn’t a light hearted story, but it’ll definitely keep you hooked.
This was different from anything else I’ve read to date. Other than reading the blurb I had NO CLUE what to actually expect going into this but it did not disappoint me. That is for certain. The trigger warning should be taken seriously for those that have them but otherwise this is definitely one brutal and torturous roller coaster of nearly non stop depravity. Absolutely LOVED it!!!
