Bridlington Bedlam: Sanford 3rd Age Club Mystery #28

Rate this book
It’s Easter, the Sanford 3rd Age Club are on their travels again, and this time, it’s Bridlington.
All is not well, however. Brenda is still struggling to overcome her trauma of earlier in the years and Joe’s gastric problems are playing up again, and when the Chair of the Sanford Bulls Rugby League team asks Joe to keep an eye on a wayward son-in-law, the trio of sleuths find themselves confronted with a team of hothead rugby players. There’s a mugging, and as if that’s not enough, when one of the Bulls diehard fans is murdered, a 3rd Age Clubber is prime suspect.
A group of rugby payers determined to crush him, a forceful police inspector, a member of the 3rd Age Club who Joe always insisted he would never accept in the club, and a fake social media account insulting most of Joe’s acquaintances, it’s not long before the pressure turns to stress and takes its toll on the man.
Can a rejuvenated Brenda save the day? Will Sheila’s logic hold water? Can they track down the hidden individual who set up the fake social media account? How did the victim come by a 3rd ager’s handbag? Why does a battered woman refuse to identify her attacker?
It all contributes to…

An entertaining read ... even if it is a little sombre compared to other outings for Joe and his Handmaidens
