He doesn't know my true feelings for him, and he's my best friend.
I thought, as long as I had him in my life, it would be better than not having him at all. Now he's saying he doesn't want to be friends with me anymore. My entire soul feels like it's just been crushed. Then again, maybe this is for the best. Maybe we both need to move on. He and Liz deserve to be... happy. And I'm just in the way.
Like an adult soap opera of unrequited love, the conniving best friend, and their respective events. When I say I can’t stand Elizabeth…then again, Dante is being self-centered in wanting his cake and eating it, too. Each book in this series leads a little closer to Jasmine and Dante’s change in friendship to interest, at least on the side of Dante. Thank goodness for Silas, Jazzy’s new beau.
Would love to see Jazzy sticking up for herself to be less forgiving, less sweet though her behavior does add to the angst and feeling of antipathy towards Elizabeth. On to book 4.
Okay we are really starting to get into the nitty-gritty of this story. Book 2 made me wanna cry a little bit toward the end. I forgot to note, I was sitting in my car on my last break yesterday at work and had to stop reading and take several deep breaths to stop from crying when Dante told Jasmine that they can’t be friends anymore. My heart was broken for Jasmine as that pain is one that you can never forget. This story led me to almost hating Dante. There’s no way he doesn’t know the power. He holds over these two women, and he uses it to his best advantage. Jasmine is just a sweet girl with a huge crush and so much love to give, she doesn’t know how to compartmentalize and force her heart to ignore her lifelong love of Dante. I truly wish she would just say hey, this is not going to be my future, he and I are never going to be one and try her best not only mentally move on, but physically move on as Silas is pretty amazing, I hope! Dante and Liz are toxic in my opinion. I don’t think they have a healthy love or healthy relationship and I just don’t feel a loving connection between the two. I almost feel that it was boredom or loneliness or need that brought to them together. I don’t feel that spark of heavy passion and chemistry that you normally get when you’re with someone on a healthy note. I feel absolutely horrible for what happened to Liz at the end as she was torn too. She wanted to be a good friend, but she also wanted her man. I can’t wait to find out what happened next. What a clip hanger that ended on! All in all, another great addition to this long drawnout story. Again, I don’t normally root for the she falls first unrequited love but I’m finally starting to see where she’s coming from. I conveniently forget that I was a young girl once and me do the same things just about anything for love you would think not caring. This is turning into a very emotional journey and I’m really glad that my feed brought this story to my attention and Alexandria Da Great has really captured my intention and I’m unable to read anything else until I finish this. Until I find out what actually ends up happening do we finally get a happy ever after for these two?
The book covers for this series are provocative and misleading, there is no scene such as depicted on the cover.
SPOILERS AHEAD ...
Dante is ashamed and embarrassed to be around Jasmine because of the direct action of his girlfriend Liz, so he minimizes his contact with Jasmine. Jasmine is hurt and after seeing Dante and Liz celebrate a special occasion, she becomes reckless and decides to disappear from her life. She contacts her family and her savior Silas to let them know she's on a retreat. When her family stops hearing from her, Jasmine's mom comes to Dante for help in finding her.
Dante finds and admonishes her for making the people that care about her, worry. He spends the night in her room like he's done countless times but this time something is different and once again their once upon time rock solid friendship is forever altered. Like the two previous books, this story ends of a cliffhanger ... on to Book 4.
When I click on this book, I didn’t realize it would be a saga. 🤣. This my first time being exposed to this author. It’s a good read. However maybe it’s my age, but Elizabeth was annoying desperate. I was like girl get some pride. The 🚩🚩🚩🚩 were obvious and I’m sorry, she didn’t love Dante. She’s obsessed with the idea of him and his looks. He told her where he stood. Now Jasmine, I thought that she needed more spine. I get being worried about losing a vital friendship, but damn she wasted so many years pining for Dante. More years than her girl. It was painful to read. I like to rip the tape off and move forward. Onto the next book!!
All of these books could’ve been one book…. The characters still haven’t evolved and at this point I think my fascination with the story is morbid. I’m rooting for Jasmine to come out on top without Dante but I don’t think that will happen at this point but I’m on to the next book…
No. Just no. I swear if not for the fact that I want to see jasmine have a happy ending. I’m getting more and more annoyed with this series. The fact of the matter is Liz brought all of this onto herself. Jasmine is a lost cause, and Dante is an idiot. No just no
The way I don’t even want them together at this point in the end he’s going to keep being with Liz bc he can’t even admit to himself he’s in love with Jazz and it’s actually sick that a 37 year old man is playing around with these 2 women’s feelings it’s actually sick
I think the only reason Liz was a so called friend was to get an keep the man. Jasmine is in desperate need of wisdom. She makes strides to move on but she can't when they keep pulling her back into the fire. Yet she was too passive to say what she needs to say.
Again, after everything that has happened in this book, I still am left confused as to why Dante feels the need to be with Liz when he clearly puts Jasmine above everything…what am I missing here??
