The moment Clay was old enough to help guard the Bosi home, he was trained as a soldier. He’s seen criminals come and go. He’s never met anyone like Scout.

As Killers Inc.’s scout, Scout has two areas of expertise. He’s the eagle eyes of the group, and he can shoot faster and more accurately than more than ninety-five percent of the population. That’s it. That’s all Scout has. Since meeting Clay, he’s smiled even more than usual. The best part is the happiness isn’t faked. Scout didn’t notice what was happening to him until he saw Clay stare at someone else with lust in his eyes. Those longing looks were supposed to be his. He’s never felt further out of his comfort zone.

For nearly his entire life, Clay has been surrounded by crime. He doesn’t care what anyone does. All Clay knows is he wants to be with someone sane and kind. Unfortunately, his position with the Bosi family has made it hard to meet anyone nice. Since the Killers Inc. group joined the compound, teasing him with a life he never thought he would have, Clay isn’t sure what he’s looking for any longer. But he’s positive something is happening to him, and he has never been more confused.

Scout is the fifth book in Charity Parkerson’s Killers Inc. series, where hired assassins and their ilk find the love that finally saves them. These are best enjoyed when read in order.

Another quick read from Charity Parkerson. A mafia soldier and a born killer, both dark and dangerous and yet yearn for love. Both have jelly bean hearts that melt for each other. It just takes them a while to admit it.

Why can't I quit loving the guys in this series?
They are... I don't know... I just can't quit them... 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤣
I can't believe I am saying this, but I am a bit disappointed with the whole "Rain" revenge thing... is it wrong of me to have wanted MORE details? I feel I have been corrupted! LOL!!!

More secrets revealed

Whilst all of this series and the Daddy one before are great fun to read, this one felt a little like a bit of an anticlimax in regards to one ongoing plot point about the Afaganovs.
I enjoyed Clay and Scout's will they won't they and some of the wider reveals as well as more about Zeus though.

Clay has spent his life guarding the Bosi family, trained from childhood to be a soldier. He’s used to criminals coming and going, but Scout — Killers Inc.’s sharp‑eyed, lightning‑fast marksman — is unlike anyone he’s ever met. Scout, usually confident and upbeat, is thrown off when he realises he wants Clay’s attention and isn’t getting it. Clay, who longs for someone kind and steady despite the violent world he lives in, finds himself confused by the possibilities Scout represents. With Killers Inc. now on the compound, both men are pushed out of their comfort zones as an unexpected connection begins to form.

I loved this story and I really enjoyed watching Clay and Scout wrestle with feelings that were completely new to both of them. Their confusion, hesitation, and vulnerability made their connection feel all the more genuine. What struck me most was how perfectly they fit together despite — or maybe because of — the harsh world they live in. Their strengths balance each other, and their emotional struggles make their eventual bond feel earned. A compelling mix of tenderness and grit. This was an MM story with mature content.

This is book 5 in the series of Russian trained assassins and mob. Scout has had a tough life being forced to train as a top assassin in Russia from a young age, He doesn't know love apart from what he feels for his 'brothers' who managed to escape and are now hiding/living in the US. Scout's 'family of brothers' in previous books, moved into Beau's compound to keep them safe from the Russian government who are still trying to kill them.

Clay was adopted into Mob boss Beau Bosi when he was 4 and was raised with his children and now works as a highly trained guard in Beau's household.

When Clay and Scout start training together something grows between them but neither of them have any experience in the relationship department and so they have to work to get their HEA whilst everything is happening around them.

Whilst the story is shorter than some of the others , I still enjoyed watching another couple find their person.

I enjoy these stories as palette cleansers after a heavy read. They are mostly just blood and bonking and that's fine. This story though felt a little all over the place and if I'm remembering past books right (there's every chance I'm not), didn't make a great deal of sense. I liked Clay and Scout and their utter failure to communicate. We finally got some answers to questions posed in previous books and a resolution of sort, but I felt there were many missed opportunities, which is a shame. 3*

One of the best Parkerson’s book I’ve read in a long time.

There was just the right amount of anguish and emotional tension to make it Perfect. Clay was seriously badass when he showed up and Scout didn’t make it annoying when he was being stupid.

Really looking forward to Tracker’s book

Very quick read

This was a short quick read. Glad to get some of the "closure" that was provided in this book. Nice to see the guys.
