The next books of the series! The Hunter’s Book 16: The Hunter’s Book 17: The Hunter’s Book 18:
The more I see of the powerful in this world, the more surprised I get. How have they not killed each other off yet? Sure, there are some bright spots on the political map of the word, like Japan, which still remembers honor and responsibility. But as it turns out, not all is clean even there.
Well, nothing for it... Guess it’s time to move from defense to offense. Whoever fails to hide – don’t blame me.
this is my review. I received an arc from the publisher. the review is based on that. there were more than a couple mistakes. mostly either missing words or extra words in sentences. but don't worry I sent a list to the publisher to be corrected. in this one we have some rift raiding, some political intrigue, a marriage proposal, and the start of what looks like a major conflict. also we find the Kama sutra, but we don't find out who took it, we just find out where it's at. of course the overpowered MC continues to get stronger and is actually actively working to increase his House's power instead of just trying to do everything himself. of course he's still mostly does everything himself but he's starting to actually rely on others. I do enjoy the series I like it a lot, I just wish there were more from the female characters. Snoop and of course the honey badger remain two of my favorite characters even though neither plays that big of role in this particular book. I am looking forward to book 16 where I think major warfare will be taking place which will allow our MC to showcase some if not all of his power. I mean he can't keep hiding it forever. I really do wish that I could read Russian because I'd be over reading this off of whatever form site it's being written on. all in all a good read. I gave it four stars purely because of the mistakes I found in the arc. as you know, because I keep telling you, if you find any mistakes in a magic dome publishing book you can contact them and let them know and they will fix it.
Exciting and action packed. Alexander is a great leader, provider, and humanitarian to people that deserve it.
So why three stars, you ask? Using the word “retarded” to describe and speak to people he hates, thinks are unintelligent, is flat out offensive. It’s a word that needs to never be used! The authors need to understand the historical significance in the United States to readers and others how morally wrong the word is.
Secondly, polygamy is against the law in the United States. Look up some cults that were and are active in the United States. It turns my stomach.
Unless the offending word is no longer used and polygamy ceases, this will be the last book I read in this series and the authors. Too bad. Good story.
I received a review copy of this book. The Hunter's Code book 15 takes us to the edge of war in the empire, even though it's been forbidden by the empress, some folks just won't follow the rules. That's fine, because our main character has no problem striking back at those who don't care about rules, especially if that means not following the rules gets his lands or people attacked. This book advances the story nicely, and goes inevitable places, so the next few books should be interesting. Waiting for the next one now.
Once again, there are many conflicts and Xander makes himself new powerful enemies. The drunk and Shnoop once again shine. Khrulyov returns, there are major events in the east and even a new marriage proposal. We learn about where the kama sutra ended up, Xander builds up his economical power and gets his wife a special gift by using the "helpful" gift he got himself.
I can't wait for the next book as a major conflict is brewing..
Criticism and comments
There were minor issues, mostly due to missing words.
Xander's big plans for the future once again felt insane and premature given his lacking strength and the plethora of strong enemies.
This was a 3.5/5 until the last third of the book where it seems the editing dropped of a cliff.
The internal logic and consistency errors are the worst offenders but the execution as a whole makes for a painful read. It is depressing because I feel the story would rate at least a 4/5 if it was properly tightened up.
Reading these stories really makes me wonder what they are like in the original language. I can't imagine that there would be paragraphs that are just garbled nonsensicality.
I understand the story is kind of moving along and he's head of a family, but yeah I want more riffs again. All we got was one. Also he finds out an enemy comes back to life he knows what's going on and he doesn't do anything about it that was stupid, and you should have gotten rid of more enemies
Well in true Galaxius fashion the empire is under attack by everybody and our Xander is right in the middle of it all , hopefully he can sort it out as he's got a wedding to attend , another great chapter in the rise and rise of a baron.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
