A promise becomes a shackle when Emelie discovers her true desires.
Emelie’s given up hope. With her twentieth birthday looming, she enters a marriage agreement to secure her father’s future and save herself from spinsterhood. As the smart, sensible sister, she’s got everything figured out—that is, until she meets Henrick.
She has no reason to think twice about the socially inept carpenter. But a chance meeting with an elven lady makes Emelie question her assumptions in more ways than one. Unable to deny the connection between her and Henrick, Emelie’s ready to discover what she might be missing, without fully understanding that someone’s bound to get hurt.
But Emelie’s not the only one struggling. When the lingering animosity that divides humans and elves pushes back, Emelie and Henrick are caught in the middle of a fight bigger than their own. To survive both battles, Emelie must learn to trust herself and embrace the idea that life holds far more possibilities than she ever imagined.
Set in a world with fae lore, Promises and Possibilities includes a strong female lead, first love, magical elves, and hidden evil. This standalone, spicy fantasy romance delivers an HEA and exists within The Elves of Aerytol series.
This cozy romantasy is a delightful read and the perfect introduction to this author's characters and story world. I enjoyed being in Emilie's point of view as she learns to trust her instincts.
Her chemistry with Henrick made me want to read more of this series. It gets spicy and you can't help rooting for Emilie to get her happily ever after.
an entertaining hook into this fictional world. though i do wish this story had been a little longer and more built out, i'm interested in continuing the series and discovering more of the world building.
