The true story of an ordinary young woman plunged into the heady world of wealth and glamour through a passionate, irresistible affair with a charismatic millionaire.
I really enjoyed reading the blogs and expected so much more from this book. I found it repetitive and unrealistic. I know it's edited into book form but the beauty of the blogs was the realness you got from reading it. The book feels like she's read to many erotic romance books and picked up the feelings used to describe fictional characters. Given that it's meant to be a true story I just felt like it was exaggerated :-(
I didn't like this book at all. I thought it was poorly written, and I gave up reading after the first 4 chapters. It wasn't what I expected at all, so I didn't get caught up in the story, nor did I like the characters. I since heard that the blog is much better, but I can't recommend the book
What a heap of crap! After reading "Hooked" I had thought this may have been in the same mindset. But really it was as badly written as "50 Shades of Grey" the repetition being really annoying.
I thought this would be more than just a poor imitation of 50 shades. I thought there would be more stories, confessions even given the title but all It is is Ava having drunk sex with Hugh and moaning about him having a wife. It glosses over the criminal investigation into Hugh and is really vague whilst managing to drone on for ages about nothing of any substance really. Disappointing!
'The morning after meeting Hugh, I was heading out the door when I saw I had a new message. I opened it cautiously and saw six words that made my heart skip a beat.
I need to see you again.'
Ava Reilly was just starting her career in PR when she was sent to meet one of the industry's major players. She was naive to the ways of the entertainment business, but was determined to make a good impression. What she wasn't prepared for was the electricity she would feel between them from the moment of their first meeting.
Soon they had embarked on a stormy, seductive love affair, with liaisons in opulent hotels across Australia and around the world. The thrill of their encounters was tainted by constant pressure to keep their relationship out of the public eye, as the danger of being discovered could put not only their personal lives but their professional lives at risk.
Ava also felt the weight of her conscience - she had never, ever imagined herself as the other woman. However, it had been a long time since she'd been able to truly trust a man, and Hugh seemed to be only one who could come close to breaking down the protective walls Ava had built around her heart.
Working day to day in an industry where secrets are currency, Ava's lips were tightly sealed about what was happening between her and Hugh - until she began to make her confessions.
Review:
I don't know if this story is for real or not, but for goodness sakes if it is, this girl should really get some professional help. Seriously!
This is not what I expected, I was thinking this would be like The Secret Diary of a Call Girl and it is not. I know it was supposed to be a true story taken from her blog spot and made into book form. I went and looked up the blog and actually liked that format better than, what was put in book form. You can tell the girl is not a professional writer and I have no trouble with that I just think the editing could have made this book a lot better. I had a hard time reading this book, I wish I could give it a better rating but honestly I kept reading for the "watching a train wreck factor". And if you are looking for a nice wrap-up at the end of this story, not happening, you are left hanging. Again, if this is really a true story, someone needs to give this girl an intervention and a psychologist.

It's not the subject matter, an illicit affair barely raises my eyebrow, for me it was the haphazard writing and the constant stream of consciousness and re-hashing of things. I understand that she was young, insecure and she felt more confident around him and quite obviously had a lot of unresolved issues in her past, but I don't enjoy books where I feel they are repetitive. In fairness these entries/Confessions are written similar to diary entries i guess, so there is some basis for the repetitive nature, however, this writing style just isn't for me.
I do tend to try and stick with a book a bit longer if I think it's going to be a DNF, particularly non-fiction, but by about Confession 6 I was bored (and slightly irritated). I read a few more Confessions to give the book a chance, but ultimately decided it was due to go back to the library.
Was an alright read but was disappointed with the writing style - very choppy and at times over the place. The storyline was so so - read worse but have also read better. Even though it is an autobiography I found it unrealistic and repetitive. Bordering on smut read which I wasn't feeling - sex scenes could be better - Hugh had so much alpha male dominate potential. One plus I will like to point out is the characters had a semi-relationship before falling immediately in love. Thank you Ava for not completely disappointing me in that field.
I have followed your story online from the beginning and just now got around to reading your book but I didn't enjoy it as much as reading online I don't know if it's as people have stated online is just pure Ava and the book is Ava but with someone tweaking here and there to make it more of a story and the ending it just ended so unexpectedly i want to know what happened next please say there is a follow up but other than that it was a good read
Some may like this book but its definitely too romantic for me, mainly just about the authors feelings. It was even tamer than 50 shades freed which was also terrible.
