"My guess is she's more afraid of change than most people. Afraid of getting hurt like she did before. But comfort is no reason to close herself off."
This series continues to surprise me more and more with how each volume is better than the last!
I LOVED the character development that is taking place! I never imagined that because of that said character development, I would even be okay with Souma giving a genuine love confession to Kujou! It was touching and heartfelt and really really liked it, even if I'm still #TeamYanagi! LOL!
And speaking of! He was so cruel in one scene even though I know he didn't mean it the way he said it! We the reader know why he said what he did, but Kujou doesn't and my heart really broke for her because the poor girl has been so mixed up and confused about this volume! *cries*
Also speaking of her, seeing more of why she acts the way she does when it comes to change was SO relatable! I've always liked Kujou but I feel this volume really helped me bond with her because I feel so similarly about change and was happy with the "last" chapter because of how her friends were there for her! Hang in there, Kujou!
Very very thankful I continued reading this series because I honestly feel I've been thriving! Each character is growing and changing in some way, while the romance is v-e-r-y slowly moving forward. Can't wait to read the next volume!
"Love isn't all sparkly and clean. It's dirty sometimes! You're dodging the ugly side! THAT'S why you don't understand how you feel!"
If there’s anything that makes this volume especially interesting, it’s getting a little insight into why Kujou is so disinclined to rock the boat and so very slow at processing her own feelings. Her relationship with her mother is wonderful.
More annoyingly, her recalcitrance turns into an excuse for Souma to keep trying to get her attention when he knows damn well that Yanagi cares about her and vice-versa. Having Souma go back to full rival mode is a bit of a waste of time, for my money.
This then leads to Souma and Yanagi browbeating poor Kujou over choosing one of the two of them and it’s so unfair to her that it leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth compared to other volumes. She’s clearly got some things to process and wants to go at her pace. It’s not for nothing that her own rival, Momoka, ends up being the one to really get to the heart of things.
This volume is pretty much business as usual, though the guys’ behaviour kind of dulls its usual charms for me. Definitely not one of my favourite volumes, although we do get a decent wall slam and Yanagi manages to really jam his foot in his mouth in spectacular fashion when he tries to make his feelings plain. It would have worked in another shojo, but Kujou is her own unique self.
A typically fun series, but this particular instalment has a few more caveats than I expected.
This volume made my heart hurt, and I got so frustrated with all the characters, BUT OMG KUJOU IS FINALLY REALIZING THAT SHE LIKES YANAGI 😳 it only took 7 volumes to get to this point....
Also, I bawled my eyes out when Kujou was talking about not wanting to lose Yanagi 🥺😭
It's funny how although I totally ship Kujou with Yanagi, I find myself somehow rooting for Souma, as well- The author did a lovely job making you feel for him. Also I find Kujou's unwillingness for things to change so relatable- Besides that, I honestly cannot believe all the romantic developments this volume delivered- WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE GUYS?!! I'm so happy~!! What a payoff. Although this series is very fluffy and slow when it comes to romance, that just makes volumes like these even more fun to read.
(This book contains language, adult themes and alcohol. I would give it an age rating of 13+)
Oh my gosh—they’re finally confessing! BOTH. My heart is racing. The cliché somehow evolved into an even bigger cliché, but honestly? I’m living for it. The romance is peaking, and I’m just grinning through every single page. We’re not only getting the sweet, chaotic whirlwind of emotions, but also diving deeper into the characters’ backstories—and it’s making everything so much more intense. The internal conflict, the denial, the “I like you but I can’t admit it”—that’s so me. This feels like the peak of the entire series: full of romancy sweetness, emotional tension, and the kind of drama that has you kicking your feet in delight.
It is a very heart warming manga. The story is about Yanagi who is always first in everything plus he is a Rick and handsome brat. But suddenly a girl named Kujou is transferred to his primary school and turns out she is first in everything. So to defeat her and come first he start persuing her and they have a last game.
3,5/5 Ay me ha pasado igual que en tomo anterior: Los primeros 3 capítulos estuvieron bien pero los 3 últimos increíbles... YYYYY POR FIN KUJÔ, POR FIN TE DAS CUENTA
A HUGE DEVELOPMENT FOR KUJOU!! Although, its really frustrating how dense she is, I can't really blame her for protecting her feelings. You did good, Kujou!
¿Es normal que te agrade la protagonista y a la vez quieras matarla? :D en serio, que desesperación me da que ella se niegue a reconocer sus sentimientos!!! 💔😹
Ugh! I'm reading this online, and the author really needs to update! The last chapter really was a cliff-hanger.
Anyway, in shoujo manga, guaranteed, whenever they go on a date, the girl always takes misguided advice from romance novels, books, etc. That always goes wrong, just saying. And Last Game is no exception. It's really hilarious to see Kujou try so hard. Honestly, though, I can't get enough of this cuteness!!!!!!
